  1. Where they will beat the @#!% out of who ever they play, proving they deserved to be there? If they win the East and get to the BCs championship game, I'm asuming they'd have one loss. So they would have beaten LSU, UGA, USC, UK, FSU, + the SEC west champ? That seems like a decent season to me. yes, USC is good because they beat Georgia and FSU is good because they beat Alabama and Georgia is good because they beat....Alabama. I'm familiar with how this little circle works. you also make an incorrect assumption. it's perfectly conceivable that LSU beats Florida and Kentucky, then Florida beats Kentucky. Florida still goes to the SEC championship game, and if they win, they more than likely go to the BCS over one loss teams. why? because the pollsters have a Merkle for Florida and the SEC in general, and the computers have a Merkle for the way Meyer runs up the score against patsies. Merkle. the new Rusch? I think you overestimate how much the polls overestimate the SEC. It doesn't matter though, USF will win out and just sneak into the BCS champ game vs an undefeated LSU team.

  3. ugh. what an odd week, the Gators let me down and the Cubs actually do well.
  4. I also saw a report that Harvin had some type of issue with his knee. The report said he would play, but I was wondering if it might hamper him Saturday. You know anything about this? It was just listed as a sore knee in the campus paper this morning, he should be fine.
  5. Forgive my ignorance. What? Visit the minor league forums more. I promise the hope they (sometimes) provide is worth it.
  6. Disagree. The key is my "good luck funny .gif of the day". It's clearly why we won this game, given the pitching matchups. But lets do both! :D ok I'll play drunken 5 card draw when ever I can, you do the god luck funny image of the day and we'll see what works better.
  7. resign for an awful '99/'08
  8. He's got an overall BABIP of .415 (don't know what a sustainable rate would be) and he can't stay in AAA next season. neither of those statements are good. (unless the Cubs are prepared to let him start or take over the back up role next year.)
  9. ok, so the key is obviously for me to play drunken $ 1.20 5 card draw - PL (On Pokerstars). Who is up for joining me for the next game?
  10. Also, for the sake of being in a state of Cubbie depression, what is Soto's BABIP Vs a sustainable rate. i.e. what can we actually expect from him next year (his fourth in AAA, or his first as the back-up in MLB ball.)
  11. Is that an IsoD of .006? realy? ugh.
  12. It is deeply engrained in my heart along with the VHS tape I watched daily as a child...(why do I expect the cubs to lose?)
  13. Not anymore. ok, so my beer tastes good. Anything else?
  14. Ok time for positive thoughts. After 6 yuenglings had previously, this miller high life tastes almost as good. Marquis has a no hitter. anything else?
  15. I think it'd be hilarious(ly depressing) If we could lose 1-0 without allowing a hit.
  16. at least the no hitter is still intact for Marquis.
  17. Eh, it was a bad signing, but it's not like we have a lot of starting pitching depth. Marquis doesn't exactly effect our depth. We have guys in the minors that could do what he does for a fraction less. We have Sean Gallager, past that there is nothing.
  18. Eh, it was a bad signing, but it's not like we have a lot of starting pitching depth.
  19. only because I want to go to sleep/start drink off the loss now.
  20. nothing wrong with a cub induced drunken stupor. who hasn't done it?
  21. when was the last time he didn't get on base twice?
  22. so it's time for these threads again? I'm just happy/mad (I'm really not sure which and the yuengling isn't helping) the Cubs were good enough to get me to football season this year.
