  1. Fixed. :D
  2. That article doesn't say he'll be out the rest of the year. It says a minimum of three months, and PROBABLY MOST of the rest of the year. That could mean that he'd have a chance of returning for the stretch drive and postseason.
  3. Hey, it worked for the A's back in the 70s. (Anybody remember Herb Washington?)
  4. Hey, might as well get the loss out of the way now rather than later. Getting swept in a doubleheader is even more depressing. True; it would have just been delaying the torture.
  5. Too bad the rain was in Indiana and not Chicago. :(
  6. At least you got something. I merged it with the similar thread started shortly before yours.
  7. Vizcaino wasn't a product of the Cubs' system. He came up through the Dodgers' system; the Cubs got him in a trade for Greg Smith after he had a couple of cups of coffee with the Dodgers.
  8. And now it's 11 out of 12. The fun never ends.
  9. A final reminder: The deadline for posting questions is noon Central time today (Friday).
  10. One of these things is not like the other one... In more way than one. The first digit is twice as much as the other three added together; the second digit is even while the others are all odd; and the third digit is odd while the others are all even. Some of Fred Hornkohl must be rubbing off on me. :D
  11. I'm closer to first than I am to last.
  12. he's starting - he wants the record at home. What record?
  13. Your crow is halfway ready to be served. :D
  14. This "winning" thing is fun. Let's do it again.
  15. So when the Cubs had a rookie pitcher who went 6-14 with a 5.61 ERA, and got sent down once during the year, the Cubs obviously should have given up on him. Right? That pitcher is Greg Maddux.
  16. Ryan Doumit is moving to first to accomodate Ronny Paulino behind the plate. I thought I read on here yesterday that Doumit was hurt. You did. The poster who claims to have contacts with the Pirates said that the trade he mentioned the other day may be delayed because of Doumit being injured.
  17. If it were actually his decision, as opposed to the Giants' I'm sure he would have.
  18. Somebody should start releasefreddybynum.com. :D
  19. Crappy, Ugly Baseball Sucks
  20. That's a given; otherwise it wouldn't be an inside-the-park home run.
  21. Time to turn the clock back to 2001. That year the Cubs had an 8 game losing streak immediately followed by a 12 game winning streak. Tonight we completed the 8 game losing streak part; tomorrow it's time to start the 12 game winning streak.
  22. As I posted earlier, I swapped Winn out and Everett in because Winn was reportedly day-to-day with a knee injury. As we know all too well from tonight's Cubs game, Winn didn't miss any time. Can I swap them back, or do I need to keep Winn reserved for the rest of the week?
