If you had comparable offers from the Dodgers, Yankees, Angels, or the Cubs who would you choose? The only way the Cubs get Zito is to overpay greatly for him. Which won't happen. In other words, you're expressing your opinion, but telling others it isn't worth discussing as if it were fact. It's not for you to tell others what is or is not worth discussing.

    Actually this may be a moot question. CBS still has Smolz for Sunday on its list of probable starters. BTW - I tend to lean towards no. Acts of God are not covered. A loss of a start due to injury is. But... Anyone else care to chime in. My understanding was that lost starts due to injury, being moved to the bullpen, or being sent to the minors could be replaced, but not rainouts.

    I am. It's SammyWho's avatar that is the culprit. I've actually had this problem for quite some time, but didn't think to mention it until I realized I wasn't the only one.

    But you said you wanted to make sense of the injuries in the same thread you mentioned trading Barrett. That implies you think Barrett might be a cause of the injuries.

    I'll give Dusty some credit, if Z was complaining about an inury I don't think he would let him go out there, especially now that we're completely out o fit. I don't give Dusty that credit at all. If Zambrano said he was capable of pitching despite the injury, we know very darn well Dusty would have started him.
