  1. I can definitely see them going 19-0 this year. Not going to happen, since they aren't going to beat the Colts in Indianapolis.
  2. I chose Arod because I'm operating under the assumption that the goal is to win a championship in 2008. If I were thinking more long-term I'd go with Miggy. Santana would certainly be a nice addition to the pitching staff, but the rotation is already fairly good. The offense is in much more need of improvement.
  3. Yes they do have an owner: The Tribune. They still own the Cubs until a sale goes through.
  4. I don't think this belongs in Rivalries (it would have if NSBB existed back in 1907, 1908, 1935, or 1945). Off to Baseball Discussions.
  5. Sunday Ticket can be your friend.
  6. I have Addai on one of my teams and Wayne on the other. I also have Watson on one of my teams (the same team as Wayne), but I think he's a risky start because he may not be back to full strength if he's back from his injury.
  7. Gallagher still unscored on. That's certainly good to see.
  8. I'm not sure if you're referring to Elliott Maddox or Garry Maddox, but neither one of them would be coming back because they were never Cubs in the first place. Plus, they played in the 70s/80s. Or perhaps you meant Greg Maddux. :D
  9. He was only an All-Star once (1969); he received MVP votes twice (22nd in 1967, 30th in 1969). His nickname was The Rebel. I'd like to have seen how good he could have been if he didn't get injured, or if he came along later when surgical techniques were much improved. Same with Gale Sayers in football.
  10. No, he's a mephematics whiz. :D
  11. Um, I didn't say what you quoted me as saying.
  12. It just may be a tuna fish you're lookin' for. Tuna Fish? Am I missing something? It's a joke. The lyrics to the song are "it just may be a lunatic you're lookin' for"
  13. That's probably because nobody got the Pirates' job yet. :D
  14. I'll happily donate $10 myself if it means getting Arod. :D Yes, I know you actually meant $10 million.
  15. I said B. If the leader gets it right he wins anyway; it doesn't matter how much I bet. So I bet little enough to have a chance even if I'm wrong. Basically, B guarantees me a win if the leader is wrong regardless of how I do.
  16. Yes, posting a link is appropriate; posting an entire article is against NSBB policy due to copyright issues.
  17. Colts, since the game is in Indy. If it were at New England the Patriots would win. The Colts are too good to lose to anybody at home.
  18. I'd be willing to take them off your hands. :D
  19. The Big 10 Network's alternate feeds on DirecTV are a godsend. Thanks to them I was able to watch both the Ball State and Indiana games last Saturday (mainly watching Ball State and occasionally checking in on Indiana, since the games were on at the same time). And this Saturday I'll be able to to watch Ball State-Indiana, knowing that regardless of the outcome one of my two favorite teams will become bowl-eligible. It's nice to be able to see Big 10 football regularly despite being in ACC country.
  20. It shouldn't, in my opinion. I don't think .500 teams belong in bowl games. But there's so many bowl games anymore that it's hard to fill out the field without a few 6-6 teams.
  21. Or this.
  22. No, Dusty, surgery is usually performed on dead air.
  23. If we sign Schilling maybe he'll post hear as he has on SOSH. :D
  24. Now all you need to do is get the Dodgers' and Twins' GMs drunk enough to do it. :D
