  1. I'm going to the Ball State game, since my graduating class has a 25-year reunion in conjunction with Homecoming. It will be the first game I've been to in over 20 years.
  2. Two people beg to differ.
  3. I'll watch the division series when there isn't anything else on I'd rather watch, but it won't be a priority. I will watch the World Series; I'm enough of a baseball fan to watch it regardless of who's playing. My interest just won't be as high as it would if the Cubs were playing.
  4. Definitely 2003. That year they should have made it to the World Series (just like they should have in 2004). This year they shouldn't have.
  5. Wherever he wants to play.
  6. Why? did Soriano and Ramirez tell him when they signed their massive contracts that they only planned on trying through September, and then theyd half ass their way through the next 3 games? He put together a playoff team. Nothing he did caused this collapse. He's a failure. Even with the playoff appearance the Cubs haven't even gotten back to the level they were in 2003, let alone making progress beyond that. All this year accomplished was making up SOME of the ground they lost since 2003. Four years with no progress is inexcusable.
  7. 2003 was more painful, but there was also more reason for optimism. This year to me is not a success, because even with the playoff appearance the Cubs are still behind where they were in 2003. Four years and not even back to the level they were, let alone making progress above that, is inexcusable.
  8. I don't see how it could possibly be legal not to refund the "convenience fees." In effect that's taking your money and not giving you anything in return for it. There's a word for that: theft.
  9. On the bright side, getting our hearts ripped out today saves us the torture of staying up well past midnight Tuesday night to get our hearts ripped out in game 5 instead.
  10. Buckner came back to play and retire with Boston in 1990. He was cheered despite being terrible. Anyone else watch the Buckner play and think that Mookie might have been safe even if Buckner fielded it cleanly? Mookie was hauling ass down the line. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3jv3uP1iKHU He'd have been out. Your sig is showing code, not the image.
  11. Will you watch the rest of the postseason?
  12. Now this won't be as fun if they actually win :( (I took them) (I don't know why) Now you know why.
  13. He's a good defensive coordinator/bad head coach, much like Norv Turner is a good offensive coordinator/bad head coach. If a team ever got a good head coach with Wannstead and Turner as the coordinators, that would be good for that team.
  14. Watched all of game 1; fell asleep during game 2.
  15. Yes they do. Maybe not much of one, but until they're officially eliminated there's always a chance.
  16. I hope the Cubs can win the WS just for that poor guy's sake. He's been through a whole lot of crap for doing what any of us would have done. Please stop saying this. Maybe you would have done it but I know not everyone would. I know I wouldn't want my hands anywhere near those of one Moises Alou. Yecch. Not if you want them to remain dry.
  17. I figured they'd be finalized, but I'm not sure. I'll check again in a few days to see if anything's changed.
  18. Time to post final results. I rebounded a bit to #466 with 353 ESPN. The Cubs blew a golden opportunity to have the player with the most ESPN two years in a row. Ronny Cedeno was #1 last year, and at one point Jason Kendall was #1 this year. He slipped to #4 at the end. Nick Punto lapped the field; the difference between him and #2 was more than the difference between #2 and #10. The "worst" Hacking Mass player was Arod, followed by Big Papi.
  19. I tend to stay up late anyway (just check the times of some of my posts). I'll take an early nap and have my coffee pot on. It's up to the Cubs to provide the excitement to keep me awake.
  20. Exactly. The point of Premium is to help Tim cover his out-of-pocket costs so the site can continue (since he pays for it personally). The features are essentially similar to the premiums people get for contributing during PBS pledge drives. They're a token of appreciation, not a value-for-value exchange.
  21. Phillies, because they threw in an unknown rookie named Ryne Sandberg in the DeJesus for Bowa trade in the early 80s. :D
  22. Tied for 15th out of 42. Not too bad.
  23. Now Soto Bats Better
