  1. Damn dude.. you sure do whine a lot! He's training for his future lawyer-ness. Or he's practicing for his future tantrum after missing the playoffs this year. :D
  2. I won't tell (as long as you pay me enough for my silence). :D
  3. His role is minor league pitching coordinator, so he can travel throughout the system; he's not tied down to one team (much the same as Dave Keller with hitting). So he certainly could work with Hill at Iowa. He probably could in Chicago as well, but I don't know how common it is for minor league staff to work with players on the major league roster.
  4. It's official. Zambrano activated from the DL, Ascanio optioned to Iowa.
  5. I've lost one of my potential starts; Harang has been pushed back from tomorrow to Tuesday due to forearm stiffness. Not that I was planning to use him anyway the way he's been sucking lately.
  6. That's what my email from the M-Braves said. I might have to make an unplanned trip to Mississippi to see Jeff. That's also what the article on mlb.com says.
  7. I think he'd give the Brewers the edge over the Cardinals for the wild card, but not put them over the Cubs. I don't expect the Cubs to continue struggling as they have the past couple of weeks. Zambrano is back tonight and Soriano should be back fairly soon.
  8. Francouer is only supposed to be down there for two weeks to get his stroke back. He's supposed to rejoin the Braves after the All-Star break.
  9. You should have used sarcastic green. Some people might actually think you're being serious. :D
  10. I should have remembered that because I have him in another league.
  11. Yes, but Marquis will sulk and Sean is a rookie and will listen to the F-bombs being thrown.Marquis can sulk all he wants for all I care. If he wants to get paid his millions for sucking he has no choice but to pitch in the role Lou gives him.
  12. My match with Fuzzy Logistics is for all practical purposes tied. I lead by 5.5 points at the moment, and we each have three starts remaining.
  13. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Amuwep9b39I3Y2cb.eXnJQc5nYcB?slug=ap-indians-borowski&prov=ap&type=lgns
  14. At that point Gallagher won't be stretched out. Again not a fan of this move. Nothing like an objective, unbiased opinion. Kidding aside, I'm not in favor of it either. I thought he had a very good start last night except for one inning, and even then the last run wasn't his fault (the ball definitely should have been caught). And he rebounded and slammed the door after that. For this season, I think Sean can at worst match Marquis' production, and going forward he should easily be better than Marquis. And Marquis' contract isn't a valid excuse either; the total payroll is exactly the same regardless of which one of them is starting and which is in the pen.
  15. STARTING to be a LITTLE bit of a concern? Do you want him to say its a major concern and have Marmol start to question himself? I don't think he'd be saying anything that Marmol doesn't already know.
  16. Randy Wolf, stay away. The Cubs should only trade for a pitcher if he's actually an improvement over what they already have.
  17. That makes 2 for 2 in terms of failed first-round Ball State pitchers that year (Luke Hagerty was the other). At least Hagerty was a sandwich pick and not #1 overall.
  18. OF: Adam Greenberg. Hard to beat a career OBP of 1.000. :D
  19. STARTING to be a LITTLE bit of a concern?
  20. if so, let's hope that soto and fukudome have nothing else in common with walton and smith. No, let's hope they have a division championship in common. :D
  21. Depending on what happens the rest of the year, this could be another 1/2 Cubs' finish in ROY voting just like 1989 (Walton and Smith).
  22. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=49545&start=27Doesn't need a separate thread, since there's already a thread about this week's moves.
  23. That's who it was. Some people on this board referred to him as Beanball Ben.
