With the NCAA tournament about to begin I've set up a group for Yahoo's Tournament Pick'em contest. Group ID 75312, password gocubs. I'm also inviting members of a couple of my fantasy leagues. I'm using a new scoring option this year called Seed Difference Bonus to increase interest by rewarding correct picking of upsets. If you correctly pick a lower seeded team you get a bonus equal to the difference in seeding. For example, if in the first round you correctly pick a #12 seed over a #5 seed, you get 7 bonus points in addition to the point for a correct pick (12 - 5 = 7).

I drafted him already. I'll trade him to you though. Oops. I didn't see him added in RK. I will drop him and pick another player. I can vouch for the fact that someone drafted Lawrie, although he may have forgotten to pick him up on Roadkill. I have a printout of BA's Top 100 prospect list; I started by crossing off those who were already on Roadkill rosters before the draft and have then been crossing off others as they've been drafted. Lawrie was crossed off on my list, meaning that somebody already had him.

Next round of roster cuts: Richie Robnett optioned to Iowa and NRIs Brian Schlitter, J.R. Mathes, Matt Smith, and Steve Clevenger assigned to minor league camp. -

Google Error Not Found The requested URL /_qhnyYmu2l_k/Sbkcbcz9cBI/AAAAAAAAAJw/X26zehmJ8EU/s1600/Nice%2Bseats.jpg was not found on this server. I had to copy/past the image location into my address bar after o got that message, then the pic showed up. Yep; that did the trick. -
So how long are we going to sit and wait? Does the 24-hour limit apply to the prospect draft too?

At first I was shocked to see Samardz and Vitters 9th and 10th, but then I realized they're listed in alphabetical order and not ranked from 1 to 10.

I too have clicked on the site index link a couple of times by mistake because that's where I'm used to seeing the board index link. What I do about it is to not worry or make a big deal of it, because it only requires one additional click to get back to the board index (by clicking on NSBB Community).

I had a similar situation last year (even though it was clear cut who was the closer and who was the setup man). In one of my leagues I had both K-Rod and Shields on my team.

That's basically what the Cubs did when they traded Marquis for Vizcaino in the first place. True. I should've said "so we're going to trade a guy we don't want who has no use for another guy we don't want who has no use." What he's saying is that it may have been cheaper to just release Marquis then to trade him for a bad contract. I didn't really mean that. I just meant that it shouldn't be surprising that the Cubs would trade one unwanted player for another since they already had a track record of doing so. -
The only way we'd see something like that happen now would be if Dusty were managing both teams.

If a prospect gets released during the draft can someone else pick him up in the draft, or do we need to wait until after the draft and claim him on waivers?

I plan to pick at least one more (I have one open spot on my minor league roster). Beyond that it depends on who's still available when my turn comes around again.

I always thought it should be the topics recently posted in (with social/rants taken out if possible). It just seems to me that the most active discussions should be the ones highlighted. That is especially true when the season starts and the game thread isn't even on there because it had been made the day before. The same goes for threads that have continuous discussion the first month of the season talking about a certain position. Those are the threads people remember so those should probably be the ones on the front page. I tend to agree with all this. I agree too. The most recently started threads aren't necessarily the ones people are actually discussing in.
