    Week 20

I am a HUGE fan of Tootielicious this week.
  2. By the slimmest of margins (3 points scored) I still have 3rd place over Adam on the tie-breaker.
  3. I thought he came over for Barrett EDIT: I'm pretty sure Ceda came for Walker and Burke for Barrett Correct. The Cubs also got Rob Bowen in the Barrett trade.
  4. I disagree that it's unfortunate, since it ensures that the Cubs don't lose an off day. I'd expect the day-night DH earlier in the series, though, to provide some flexibility in the event of bad weather then.
  5. Did we ever learn what Jackson did to get himself demoted?
  6. If I wind up choking away my playoff spot I'll feel like the 2004 Cubs. Or like Tiger Woods choking away the lead in the final round of the PGA.
  7. unless your backup is Tom Brady or Jeff Hostettler Or, going back several years earlier, Earl Morrall. He lead both the Baltimore Colts (replacing Johnny Unitas) and the Dolphins (replacing Bob Griese) to the playoffs. In fact, that was the Dolphins' undefeated year when Morrall replaced Griese.
  8. The minor leagues are supposed to be about the young kids. Helping the kids become major leaguers. He's only out for himself, just like he always was. All he ever cared about was winning - winning - winning. A real LOSER off-the-field too. No wonder he's headed for a second DIVORCE. LOUSY family man. The Hall of Fame does not make you a good person. He let it go to his head. I hope to GOD he never ever manages the CUBS. I'll become a Whie Sox fan. IT'S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT BUT IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE!!!!
  9. Someone had exactly that same name in one of my baseball leagues several years ago.
  10. Schierholtz just lost his minor league eligibility last night. I'll either drop him or move him to my major league roster and drop somebody else before next week's games begin. I'll likely have the same issue with Norris in a few more weeks.
  11. Larry was really more Hendry's choice than Lou's (he was pitching coach going back to shen Don Baylor was manager). Accordingly, as long as Hendry is around I'm not sure if Lou's leaving would cause Larry to leave.
  12. I'm hoping that will be no need. So am I, but I am not confident. At least we're talking about after 2010 rather than 2009, so we have next year to see if Soto can rebound next year. I answered Reyes, based on the hope Soto does rebound. If not, Mauer (assuming he keeps his production up and stays healthy next year).
  13. I dunno; a pinup of Ricketts in the clubhouse just wouldn't be the same. On the other hand, Wild Thing would have to be an improvement at closer.

  15. Pitcher Ericdervid Martinez and outfielder Gregorio Robles, both playing in the DSL, suspended for 50 games each for testing positive for PEDs.
  16. Bobby Hill and Gary Scott are available and well-rested.
  17. It must have been painful for some fans to see him at Wrigley Field playing against the Iowa Cubs.
  18. Aram could be headed back to the DL. Something the Cubs just absolutely cannot afford.
  19. 25 Dope-slaps, 88 RBI combined between AA and AAA, over .300 average at each level, and twice Eastern League Player of the Week this year. Looks like he may have figured something out.
  20. Ho-hum start to the week. Adam and I both made bad pitching decisions (Adam by sitting De La Rosa, me by sitting Lohse and starting Jackson).
  21. And if there's ever a 40-man roster crunch they can always transfer Chad Fox to the 60-day DL to open up a spot.
  22. mlb.com says otherwise. That article contradicts itself, however, so I don't know how reliable it is. It says that Guzman cleared waivers, but the same article says he may have been claimed by the Red Sox. If he was claimed then he didn't clear.
  23. he was talking about notre dame I knew it meant Notre Dame; hence the smiley (I suspect you actually both know that). My post was a reference to this poll from around a year ago. ahhh, sorry, ive got smilies turned off Until you mentioned it I didn't realize you could even do that. I knew you could turn off sigs and avatars, but I didn't realize that could be done with smilies too.
