    Bobby Scales tried to block Brendan Ryan's field goal attempt, but unfortunately he tipped the ball over the goal post to make the attempt good.

    Now we know why Scales is playing. Fox could never jump high enough to tip a ball over the fence for a home run.

    It probably shouldn't surprise you that more Cubs fans responded than Sox fans. I think there are more Cubs fans outside of the Chicago area than Sox fans, so if you also posted this request on a Sox message board it may not have reached as many people because it might not have as many members to start with. I'm a PhD myself and have developed surveys, so I understand the reasoning behind asking similar questions.

    Alas, they have now corrected the listing. :( The error had me trying to visualize that matchup. I have visions of the Rams' defensive backs trying to intercept the Cubs' pitches, the defensive linemen and linebackers trying to tackle or sack the Cubs' baserunners, etc. It reminded me of a Miller Lite commercial series from many years ago where two sports were combined (the two I remember were luge bowling and basketbrawl).

    Ball State is ranked #3 this week in the espn.com Bottom 10, behind #1 Miami (Ohio) and #2 Western Kentucky. How quickly things change. :(

    That's going to be hard to do with the 32nd pick in the draft. :D So who are the Cowboys going to trade to the Broncos for the 32nd pick they acquired from the Bears for Cutler?

    I'm down to #292, despite having the #1 (Taveras) and #3 (Kendall) players on my team. Butler and especially Zito are the death of me.

    Kelly Clarkson. No, he meant the Kelly Pickler interview... that was just a trainwreck of epic proportions. Ah, that's right. I forgot there were two Kellys from AI. I should have remembered since Kelly Pickler is from North Carolina.

    I'm not sure that's any stranger than me being a fan of both Indiana and Kentucky in college sports (mainly basketball). I grew up an IU fan mainly because of family background. When I went to UK for graduate school I became a fan, but I couldn't give up rooting for IU after being a fan for so many years and enjoying three national championships (76, 81, and 87).

    I claimed Gonzalez on waivers in one of my leagues (I don't know whether my claim will be successful yet; I'm third from bottom in waiver priority). As long as the rest of my team is healthy I can stash him on my bench for a couple of months and hope he might help me down the stretch.

    Harden is not being shut down for the year. Cubs.com states that he will be miss at least one, and possibly two, of his remaining three scheduled starts. That means that he will make either one or two more starts.

    That's actually pretty impressive. However, you used "a-hole" twice, which seems like cheating. The second A could be "Always gets ticked off at teammates who make mistakes behind him."

    NCAA President Myles Brand, former President of Indiana University, died today of pancreatic cancer. Brand is probably best known (and hated) for being the man who fired Bob Knight as IU basketball coach.

    I've actually had all three of them on my Roadkill roster at different times. I once even had two of them (Jose and Bengie) at the same time when they were both with the Angels.

    the system was so confused by the fact that zach duke was somehow not [expletive] terrible, causing a glitch. Which is because Washburn stole Duke's terrible pills.
