  1. for the Vikings to get the #1, yes, but if they are 14-2 heading into that last week and so is Philly, the Vikings arent going to sit anyone meaning the bears could lose that game - which is what we are worried wont happen. eta: it also depends on the flex scheduling, those games are TBD right now.
  2. there is an alternate reality where the Iggles lose another game (somehow) and suddenly that last week the Vikings are fighting for 1st pace. I dont think its a far fetched idea either, they play the Giants twice and the Cowboys once still with two of those games being away. That's if Minny doesn't drop one too. They're a .500 team masquerading as a two seed. If they really horsefeathers down their leg, maybe they're still fighting for the two seed. absolutely
  3. ......so, Skol Vikings! (?) I feel dirty
  4. To date, they've underperformed their expected W-L by a game or two. Luckily (or not) this team is now dramatically different than even a week ago. But Fields may be enough to play them into stealing a win they have no business in and reverting to the mean. And that likely meaniningless Minny game week 18 scares me the most. there is an alternate reality where the Iggles lose another game (somehow) and suddenly that last week the Vikings are fighting for 1st pace. 5. I'd be happy if they instituted a 3-5 drop back passing attack and threw 50 times. practice the short passes, keep the DL at bay, and if you win you win.
  6. man, heres to Fields passing the Bears to a win and somehow someway the O-line keeping him unscathed horsefeathers the packers
  7. horsefeathers! I'm gonna blame autocorrect on that one. If the Bears end up at #2 and the Lions at #3 and #13 would they be willing to trade up one spot to be assured of either Young or Stroud? That would be ideal for the Bears, take Anderson at #3 and OL or WR at #13. This upcoming draft and free agency have a chance to be a real game changer for the Bears. It's a chance to build the foundation for a playoff contender 2024 and beyond, for the Bears the 2023 offseason is shaping up to be their most important and impactful this century. No pressure Ryan Poles. right, but it wont be Ryan Pace (look at SS's post)
  8. I'd never wish injury on any player but in the end I'd rather the Bears simply hurt Rodgers and knocked him out of the game. or season. In my statements above I was referencing a Bears team without Fields at QB, with Fields at QB it wouldn't be so hilarious if the Bears win. They would have won because of something Fields did. My dream scenario - Justin Fields, with a shell of a defense, leads the Bears to a last minute one point win thereby, marking an end to the Packers and Rodgers dominance of the Bears. That is, in a few years we'll all point back to day Fields and Bears pulled off a miraculous win as the starting point of the Bears dominating the NFC North and the Packers. I understand, just adding my sentiment

  10. If that happens, Pace better call Carolina and see how bad they want a QB. Or another team who wants to jump ahead of Lions/Seahawks. They’re more likely to give you a haul. sure, it would be nice to get (2) 1st round picks this year in a trade, but the Bears could always trade for (1) this yer and future 1sts too
  11. i dont like your sense of humor
  12. I guess it depends on where the Bears end up. If it is #2, and there is a big demand then sure, take all the 1sts you can get. But I feel like that needs to happen in conjunction with a good FA period, ie picking up maybe Jenkins (OT) and Payne as well as some other useful pieces, especially on O. I'm of the opinion that nothing in the draft should impact how they attack FA. They need to sign at least 6 Big-ish FA deals. At least 2 on each line and then another 2 at various spots. Then fill in with depth after that. Even after all of that, they'll have opportunities to upgrade at multiple spots at the draft. There wont be a position where I think you can say "there's not room" for a top flight prospect. But they'll be covered "enough" at every spot to be trying for WC/division in 2023 if they hit on those FA. well, I think we agree. the FA period needs to be an active and team changing one because of how empty the team is of talent. lets hope Poles can do that

  14. welp, like I said, never again on both of those. those were for RB's! I mean, I'd be stunned to get a haul like that and obviously it would be a fun get, but it still takes smart drafting afterwards to make it work. In the aftermath Dallas was smart, I'm not sure Washington was
  15. ok fine how about 1999 1st round pick (12th overall) 1999 3rd round pick 1999 4th round pick 1999 5th round pick 1999 6th round pick 1999 7th round pick 2000 1st round pick 2000 3rd round pick is that the ryan leaf trade haul?
  16. Definitely number 2. We need help everywhere and the ability to have a top 3 pick when we don't need a QB in a year with high profile top of the draft QBs is an absolute blessing we have to take advantage of. Would be fantastic to get an elite stud like Anderson but seems more valuable to be in a situation where you get an extra mid round pick this year and then get 2 first round picks each of the next 2 years. I dont know if I could see Lovie passing on Anderson and if the Texans did take him #1, I would be all in on #2. You could still get a quality OT or DT at 12-20. But, if Anderson is there, I dont see how you dont take him.
  17. i dont think that trade will ever happen again
  18. I don't think the end is written RE: Claypool. New city, new offense, he's still young As for trade down partners, Seattle also makes sense
  19. Luckily some of the bad teams won today so 1 win won't kill them. Hoping the Raiders beat the Seahawks. youre wish is the Raiders command
  20. they also have 2 super bowl wins in the last 23 years
  21. Considering Soldier Field torched players for years, probably nothing
  22. The one thing Fields sucks at
  23. Has the NFL gotten to the point where winning consistently with over 50 points is a reasonable quest? I agree with UK, if I am top 5 and I don't get a reasonable trade offer, I'm looking at Anderson (maybe carter although I'd prefer a DT or 2 in FA), or the top OL. DT you could sit on until late in the 2nd, but a top edge would be way too hard for me to pass on
