  1. Aside from the occasional hot take artist, I’m not seeing this at all. The general sentiment is that they have their quarterback and need to find a way to surround him with better weapons and a line all while restocking a pathetic defense. I have seen articles about how the Bears should draft Young and trade Fields. I think most of it is just sports writer bs and being overwhelmed with the idea of having the top pick; like the exuberance makes people stupid.
  2. How, exactly, does one place themselves in the upper level management of multiple sports leagues/conferences/teams, and do it repeatedly?

  4. I feel like a third rounder should get it done. I could be way off. 4th, maybe 5th with his age and contract expectations
  5. do the reasonable thing and quit your job
  6. Yep. Even if we drop to 7 or 9, Bears could still get someone like Murphy, Johnston, OL, or depending on how FA goes, Bijan Robinson. Elite talent is elite talent. Be interesting to see if Lions think Goff is the answer or not. They have the 6th and 18th that could go a long way in a package for #1. Division opponent - requires an extra 1st than anyone else Getting 2 this year may be the tax we pay, and those picks are great spots. But I think the Lions will go value at Qb and keep Goff, try to develop a rookie. I don't think they'll trade up for a Qb.
  7. I saw a trade proposal today that was with Houston and we took Cook and picks. It was clearly written by a Texans fan (do they exist) because it talked about how Cook wanted out but it was light on the draft picks side from Houston. Get lost I want Poles to have a Hershel Walker trade return, or as close as it that he can get. That likely takes us far enough away from Anderson or Carter, that it's great that this draft has a good amount of guys we need: everything
  8. I don’t mind that trade if you are dead set on giving Fields ample weapons. Moore might be the best possible WR that the bears can acquire. That said I’d rather do that trade but with the Colts/Pittman Like Pittman better or just like staying in the top 4 more? I'd say both; you should be able to get that trade from Indy and get Pittman instead
  9. I would say it's not the final exam, but it is a must pass midterm. Tanking was easy. At this point other than the Brisker pick he really hasn't added anyone that looks like a sure thing above average long term contributor. All his budget FA were flops. Gordon and Braxton Jones might be long term starters, but certainly questions remain. He's got $150M in cash and the top pick. Again, anything less than a 8 win season will be a failure in my book. I'm concerned he has so much money to spend that the talent to get won't be there. The result, Poles will overspend on mediocre talent. Net gain: a 5-12 record. They really could have spiraled themselves into a Browns/Lions scenario of multiple losing seasons and top picks
  10. HAHAHAHAHA horsefeathers GB!
  11. Go full bore and get Josh Jacobs. There's an embarrassment of riches available, so if there's a time to overspend for a RB it's right now. Ideally there'd be a WR worth giving stupid money to, but there's not so add a playmaker where you can. My thoughts too. Improve what you can, every position is up for scrutiny
  12. I'm still a bit stunned that the Bears will have the 1st pick. Heres to Poles trading down for an absolute mint, and still getting Anderson/Carter/Johnston/Skoronski/ANY horsefeathering TALENT
  13. The bears won't give up development rights to stay in DT
  14. I have more doubt in Poles and Eberflus. The response to Justin should be "what do you need to work on these things: X Y Z That's where we need to see improvement, but we will do everything we can to support you" But who knows with poles
  15. The biggest fear I have is that after all year of Poles doing jack didily horsefeathers he decides to trade Fields...basically blame him RYAN, DONT BE LIKE KYLE
  16. and the others? Stop moving the goal posts! How many do you want? badly worded by me, 1 of each. I'm also curious who could have a worse Ol honestly
  17. name 1 Giants WR corps. and the others?
  18. It’s a 5 man group that takes at least 7 to get through a season, so it’s in constant need of refreshment. But with an emerging qb I’d prefer better protection early in the career if I have a choice. Without getting to pedantic or creating mutually exclusive options, I'll take the Ja'Marr Chase side of the debate over the Penei Sewell side. i'd agree if you can get a Ja'Marr chase, but its only a one guy vs one guy debate and also, is there a WR of JC's level in this years draft?
  19. I'd tend to agree that #1 wr's aren't a truly definable required piece, what I think is actually more critical is having multiple good options. That puts more pressure on a D than a singe guy running his route
  20. If he wont get the record, I'd rather he sits the entire game. Good call as frustrating as it might be for him
  21. after his 70 yrd td run AND THE RECORD
  22. love the trade to Indy and still getting Anderson, plus the SMU WR btw, I keep forgetting SMU is a thing. I remember them getting the death penalty
  23. Never once when I was playing, but absolutely once I had a son. I highly encouraged him to play every sport except football. He tried flag football when he was like 8 or 9 and said it wasn't for him, and I was perfectly fine with that. I never found the risk for serious injury or death to be worrisome when my daughter was playing softball or volleyball or when he played baseball. When I played sports, including football, I never once considered the possibility of a catastrophic injury. I could comprehend the possibility for a broken bone or other orthopedic injury, but nothing beyond that was ever on my mind. Looking back at it now, and especially as a parent/coach, sports look more like a minefield of possible serious outcomes. Even baseball, which never concerned me one bit while playing, has the ever-present risk of one line drive or errant pitch changing someone's life forever. [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
