  1. Well cap aside it is cash that matters, but there were really only 2 or 3 teams at risk not meeting that minimum by end of year One if those handed out a 5/105 contract today, and I think also a big DT signing. So it's really down the Bears and Cowboys who probably have work to do towards the cash minimum. I have to be honest, I don't understand the cash handed out vs. cap space thing that well. It would be pretty pathetic if the largest NFL market with 1 team didn't have the resources needed to field a winning team. I understand Arlington Park is expensive and the Bears are planning to build an expensive stadium with their own money, but if they want to win as much as they claim their do then they can find the money to put enough resources towards a good team. Plus unless someone can prove me wrong, winning has to generate more revenue than losing
  2. I worry a great deal that he's trying to be frugal in a year where the market is taking a big jump, AND Poles actually has the money to do what he needs to do. He's stated he is concerned with value, but holding cash has zero value for the Bears at this point
  3. Good for Denver! Let's steal their DT
  4. I kinda get that there's no much out there and we need bodies, but I really hate this whole tackles who get ragdolled in pass protection paradigm. You watched that one clip too huh? To be fair, there is analysis out there that portrays McG as an overmatched tackle when you line him up against the Micah Parsons of the NFL, but who isn't? That being said, he's still the top RT in FA. I'd rather sign Brown and draft Skoronski, but the Bears need to get whomever they can get at this point https://www.si.com/nfl/49ers/.amp/news/the-harsh-reality-of-a-mike-mcglinchey-in-a-micah-parsons-era
  5. I'd doubt they'd get a 2nd, maybe 5th or 6th
  6. Yea, Idk if I'd pit McGlinchy against Brown, I'd love to see them sign both
  7. poles: (2) 1st rds AND DJ Moore carolina:
  8. I thought pff graded him in to 80's overall, higher in run blocking. Regardless, McGlinchy isn't the top available rt in FA because a bunch of SF fans think he sucks He doesn't I mean, if you're going to cite PFF grades, they have a *very* low opinion of his pass-blocking. 80s run blocking, 60s pass blocking, 71 overall in 2022. Personally, I think PFF grades are RNGs that don't matter, but as people like to say, "you do you" i don't have a PFF membership, so I have to trust you on the 60s pass blocking. but I will say that at least it's not Larry Borom bad, his overall was in the 60's. McGlinchy would be an upgrade and likely cheaper than Brown. I think either tackle you would want to couple with a draft pick, likey in the 2nd rd
  9. the issue with that analogy is that players are rarely traded for 1st rd picks. That being said, I do think Poles liked Moore. He's 25, has 3 1000 yard seasons already. I can certainly see why Moore could tip the scales. its like 2.5 1st rd picks Diggs, AJ Brown, Tyreek, Hollywood Brown, Watson, Stafford, Wilson, Jamal Adams, Buckner, Ramsay, Bradley Chubb, Minkah Fitzpatrick, OBJ all come to mind from recent years. DJM is better than Hollywood and Hollywood fetched a first and a 4th. I think there were rumors that the Panthers wanted 2 firsts for DJM at the trade deadline. 2.68 1st rds
  10. I'm glad you're confident. Scouting reports, notes from 49ers fans and stats all seem to think he's a great run-blocker who is really, really bad in pass protection. he's not really really bad in pass protection. but you do you. "notes from 49ers fans" lmao he's a great run blocker and he's an OK pass blocker. the guys we have are not OK pass blockers, PFF's evaluation of their pass blocking (while being protected by the playcaller eschewing passing in obvious passing situations to a comical extent) notwithstanding I thought pff graded him in to 80's overall, higher in run blocking. Regardless, McGlinchy isn't the top available rt in FA because a bunch of SF fans think he sucks He doesn't

  12. it's a lot more than solid i may have set myself up for the "3 1st rd pick + multiple 2,3 rds) dream, but yea I get it. Moore has been productive
  13. Definitely go for brown instead. honestly, you could sign both, LT vs RT
  14. Wouldn't Poles have sign multiple OL and DL? JSN at #9 completes the WR room. prolly, but McGlinchy is my primary target. Also, the Browns C is a nice upgrade to Mustiphail and there are other DT options/additions
  15. I would have liked a higher 2nd round pick but getting Moore out of it along with (2) 1st rd picks is a solid return now sign McGlinchy, Hargrave, draft BPA at 9 and let's get on with it. Maybe they can package their a 2nd round pick with one of their 4th rounds and move up
  16. last year, they finished 3rd in State in 1A. That seemed like a once-in-a-lifetime deal considering how tiny #myschool is and likely will always be..until today Scales Mound Hornets play for 1st place Saturday morning. If they win, they will be the smallest school in Illinois history to win any state championship in any sport with a buzzing enrollment of 70 students for the entire high school GO HORNETS eta: these kids are doing something we all tried to do but ran into the very real reality of what it means to play sports at a small nano-school. I couldnt be more proud of them i used to play football and baseball against Erik, the Head Coach, he played for our rival. Love what he's done for SM 2022: 3rd in state 2023: 2nd in state Amazing for 70 kids
  17. What should I love more, the impending doom of Aaron Rodgers time in GB or the glee of such a meager return
  18. I saw a mock earlier today that had the Bears ending up with the following haul via 2 trades: Will Anderson (1.04), 2024 1st (HOU), 2024 1st (IND), 2023 2nd (HOU), 2023 2nd (IND), 2023 3rd (IND). Imagine getting 2 1st's, 2 2nd's and a 3rd while still getting the top player off the board. I'm trying not to let my mind drift too much here because its bound to lead to disappointment No way Houston gives up a future 1st. I don't think the Colts do either unless they get ahead of Houston. I could see Indy trading (2) 1sts to get to #2, all it would take is rumors of an AZ trade out of #3, and those are already swirling
  19. What would a Jets/GB trade look like? How many 1st rd picks?
  20. 2) 1's and 2) 2's would be decent, but I'd worry that Carolina will be drafting in the 20's next year. Add a 3rd for my heartache
