  1. I dont know what "Winnetka" is. In Minnesota, its a town....Is that a studio in Chicago? if so...cool. I love Phair's music, and alot of the "alternative" music of the 90's. but I hated the way it was marketed....I felt it was unfair to the artists.... Winnetka is a city in the North Shore (upper class suburbs of Chicago). Smashing Pumpkins, Urge Overkill, Veruca Salt, Local H (Zion), etc.. I thought Liz Phair was marketed as the times dictated, but Whipsmart was a drop-off from Exile and then she took a 3 year break and came out the white chocolate egg and that album was god-awful. Had she kept the same edge as Exile in Guyville, she would've had the success. weird. Urge OK had a member from Hutchington MN...knew him via a friend from the U of MN...... I loved URGE...still have a 76 ball for my car anteanna in memory... I thought Local H was from MN (or had a member from up here) as well.... http://www.centerstagechicago.net/music/whoswho/LocalH.html I seen them play at Zion Benton HS in the early 90s, birthplace of Gary Coleman! dear God...I pray for you...(the Gary Coleman bit..lol) cool website. thanks.....

  6. this always bothered me about the "alternative" movement of music in the '90's, the idea of "selling out" if you dont do what you did the album before, you "sold out" Danny Elfman had it right in 1979. "There's Nothing Wrong With Capatalism" Also had it right with the "Batman" soundtrack. Man that was sweet! lol touche'

  8. If the Cubs only show passive interest and St. Louis signs Giles, I would think it safe to say Jim Hendry is not interested in competing in the NL Central. quote of the night.
  9. I've never seen in Hairstons stats 60 steals I dont know. wish the Cubbies were in the Series....... or 23 CS. His baserunning hurts the team. and his 60 steals help the team thats still 37+, which is well above Hairston........ The point is that the 23 hurt the team more than the 60 help. The white sox would score more runs if he never tried to steal at all really? I dont agree..I really dont. I guess I just believe its better to push then to hold...but then again whatta I know...... stats tell a story, this I agree. but stats dont account for the nuances..even an ATTEMPTED SB out is better then a double play out....

  15. perhaps my age is catching up with me....but I seriously remember that game as alot of heat....... :?:
  16. Huh? Wood '98 makes me think of slurves and nasty curveballs. Particularly with Bagwell up. in the astro dome maybe....and getting rocked I remember him throwing heat on EVERY pitch, the curves and slurves came if he got hit....
  17. this Jenks guy eminds me aof Kerry Wood '98 alll fastballs
  18. didnt we have a guy who could thow 99 mph? naaaa....we couldnt have....why would we get rid of him? attitude problems? no way........
  19. 1876 thru 2005 team W L pct Chicago Cubs 9835 9291 0.514 Chicago White Sox 8203 8020 0.506 Post season appearances CUBS 14 sox 8 World Series appearances CUBS 10 sox 5 World Series wins CUBS 2 sox 2 World Series thrown CUBS 0 sox 1 OMG...LOVE the last column........lmao
  20. Shouldn't that be can't? no...it SHOULD be...........
  21. that or it will just piss us off to watch Guillen actually use a bullpen the way it should be used....the "anti-Dusty" if you will btw, 80-some pitches in 8 innings? why can the Cubs do that? what do you mean? The cubs are excellent at keeping the opposing pitchers pitch count down. touche' my bad...........lol
  22. speaking of fantasy, I was daydreaming today about throwing a 98 mph fastball w/movement...but I COULDNT decide on a complimentary pitch, the 83 mph change-up or the KNUCKLE BALL..which I have an extreme fetish for....
