  1. COLD HENDRY HAVE FLOATED THIS LEAKE TO SEE WHAT FANS REACTIONS MIGHT BE?
  2. I think it's unreasonable to think they'll get much more than the 19 wins they had against those two teams last year. They've done no better than tread water against much of the rest of the league. I think 82-85 is a realistic, and 90 would be close to best case scenario, as it stands now. And I think they were a 86 win team last year and they have improved upon that team. how many of these 7 wins that we actually loss can be attributed to the closer-by-comittee in the early season? and the macias factor?
  3. WHAT?!? Williams is at least as valuable as Lidge? Please, let's hear this argument... Williams(or other SP) is going to pitch 3 times as many innings as Lidge will in a given season. Therefore, even though his performance isn't as dominant as Lidge's, he's worth more to the team because the quantity outweighs the marginal difference in quality. you wrong......quantity doesnt outweigh quality, quantity IS A quality that being said......fire Hendry
  4. Aw, rats - the link doesn't work - infamous 404 error here. :-( bummer....it was actually interesting. they were taking the stadium down like a pie, slice by slice, not the usual total implossion.. ok, enough archi-babble....DOWN WITH THE CARDINALS!!!!
  5. I'm liking the way Jocketty is thinking lately. this is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I started this topic...ol' Walter just doenst seem to have the midas touch this season.... ***knock on wood***
  6. that explains alot...
  7. Harris would be a big loss...Johnson not so much. Hillenmeyer and MEtcalf also are eneded, but Brown makes that Defense work. He is alone the most critical, and if any of them could play on Sunday, I pray its Brown.... McGowen, as hard as he hits, could spell Harris for a game or two...and R. Brown as well for Metcalf. I love Metcalf, he has turned into the guard many thought he could be when we drafted him.
  8. ITS ON NFL.COM TOO!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE NEED BROWN http://www.nfl.com/injuries
  9. doood...take a deeeeep breath... no punctuation makes your post read like a panic....
  10. given the Jones/Wislon hype lately, I would be estatic if it were Green insted is that pathetic or what?
  11. Considering the Orioles are supposedly looking for an All Star-caliber player in a trade for Miggy, I'm guessing it would cost quite a bit more than that to land Tejada. woops.....your right...insert carp....
  12. I actually just had a horrible thought... reyes + for tejeda..slide eckstien to 2b :titanic:
  13. is it possible that the cardinals are having a worse offseason??? discuss....
  14. Tejeda sounds REALLY french to me...so does Dunn you know...Tejeda du Chien and Julian Dubuque Dunn..the famous french explorers/trappers
  15. translation: "Jason is hurt 60% of the time, so we got this guy....."
  16. =; no optimism here..... after all..we got DUSTY-BALLS as a manager
  17. "becuase there is nooo waaay anyone would have given me such a cushy job..real GM's can see my numbers pretty much suck..,but not that jimmy boy..."
  18. I believe ADA regs will ensure that the bathrooms will be brought into the new century. Did you see the stacks of broken chamberpots photographed early on in the project? The old bathrooms are no more. actually, your right. anytime a remodel is done to a pre-ADA structure, attempts have to be made to improve the situation. some cities, that means adding a toilet. in others (and I guess Chicago here), it could mean an entire bathroom remodel. Its really up to the building inspector, and I wouldnt be surprised at all considering who the mayor is.. and I'll go on to say I like Daly alot for what he has done for the building community in Chicago, but his dark side can rot in hell..(the Sox fan he is)
  19. pm a poster named "JC" I believe he lives in Wrigleyville, as a few others............he might be a place to start JC lives in indiana, IIRC. I live in Wrigleyville. I get various mailings from the Cubs in regards to the community every few months, but I usually just throw them away. if you'd like, I'll scan them and send them to you. huh...my bad...thought I remembered his sig saying something to the effect guess not..........
  20. from the trib. I honestly dont have a problem with this..
  21. I thought Wrigley was on the NROHP(National Register of Historic Places), or at least Wrigleyville? if that is so, there is no way they would let them do more then 50% remodel at once....a good portion of the building must remain as was.... I agree with your thoughts though, soul, sometimes saving something is more detrimental to what it once was, the value comes in the fact that current and future visitors can have connections in there on realm. IE, sometimes buildings, materials loose their meaning for the old generation, but suddenly find themselves re-connected witha new generation, and sometimes for intirely new reasons......and for me, that in of it self is enough value..... btw, Wrigely is listed: http://www.nationalregisterofhistoricplaces.com/IL/Cook/state10.html I love it. So basically the Government has decreed that the Cubs must suffer in a bad, mutated, re-bricked ballpark with smelly bathrooms. This is great! lol. its not the government, per se...more like your friendly neighborhood architects and historians such as I (architect) Its a HUGE arguement, for or against NROHP. I find myself leaning against it alot...for the reasons you list and others... but what once had value will have value again, so its nearly impossible for me to whipe it away........
