  1. Seriously, why Elarton? He's been horrible over the years. You have pretty high expectations. I guess that's to be expected. You do post here. :? The last two years in Cleveland he's been decent (NL-equivalent ERA just above 4). actually, he's pitched much worse and fewer innings then Millwood, I didnt expect that.... http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats/individual_stats_player.jsp?c_id=cle&playerID=134003

  3. I tend to think if he doenst make it to Chicago this year, it wont matter what his options are in 2007, no one will take him. you have to think if he is healthy at all this season, he gets a call up-even just for the bullpen I disagree minnesotacubsfan. By spring of 2007 Guzman will be ALL of 25 yrs old. If he doesn't stick with the Cubs---which I believe he will---some team is going to take the gamble on Guzman. 25 years old with health concerns, and if he pitches poorly, major concerns about how those health issues are affecting his stuff... If he pitches well, theres no way he doenst get a call-up to chicago and/or protection I feel its time for Guz to put up or get out.....and I dont mean to sound like a jerk about it, but the time really has come...
  4. Romero is said to be a clubhouse problem. never got along with Gardenhire... I think the twinkies have been bent of dumping him for awhile, and he has had problems with health....
  5. Not yet. Word is he wants two years and the Indians only want to give one. oo...I misunderstood the article....I suppose he is a very viable (until things change) option for me....
  6. Elarton would be nice, but I thought Cleveland resigned him? I dont mind giving up a good prospect if we get a bat in return, but to give up MORE prospects to get a starter isnt what I would want to pallette. there is a sense of pouring sand into a broken levy here for me, ie we have spent soo much on pitching, they get hurt, so we spend more, but handing Hill over to Dusty freaking scares me....
  7. I got nooooo problem with that move.....
  8. $18/2 + Guzman + Pie + Sing I exaggerate, but Hendry has been giving up the mint for guys this fall...I worry what AZ would walk away with from us.......I would rather it was just $$$$
  9. actually, upon review, although Weaver has pitched a fair amount of innings, he hasnt had the success of Millwood. I'll take Millwood in thins case......
  10. I like Millwood a lot, but there is no denying the stat that he hasn't pitched over 200 innings in 3 of the last 5 years. And if he's being marketed by Boras at the AJ Burnett price point, Hendry should just let someone else overpay. With the money left though, I do believe Hendry is still targeting an impact starting pitcher. I still wouldn't be surprised if that pitcher was Derek Lowe (trade), Jeff Weaver (free agent) or Javier Vazquez (trade). I've heard some say Hendry has mild interest in Jason Schmidt (trade), but he seems past his prime to me. I have convinced myself that Hendry won't give up the talent required to get Zito or Livan Hernandez, not that Livan is available. Schmidt woulda been nice 4 years ago, Weaver and Lowe both look attractive, save Lowe's contract, and Vazquez falls into the same boat of the 200 in/under 3.00 ERA as millwood-so why trade away for him? all in all, I would rather Hendry went after Weaver of Millwod so he didnt have to give up young-ins. I felt we gave up too much for Pierre, and it worries me what he might give up for a starting pticher. maybe Millwood gets a more incentive laden contract?

  12. I agree on the offense, but Williams may be gone by season start via trade for the offense Maddux SHOULD be gone by season start Wood isnt expected to be ready by season start by management that leaves us Z and Prior...I am worried.... exactly...... I wouldn't mind seeing Millwood, but not for the $ it'd take......get us Zito Hendry, PLEASE! whats ironic to me is I actually feel that Zito is overrated  I keed I keed

  14. Wake me up when the guy can throw at least 200 innings with an ERA under 4. WAKE UP!!!!! its happened twice already, 1999, 2002, 2003 he was at 4.01
  15. I dont buy that he is overrated, but I think in this market he could become overpaid

  18. Well, there are two ways to sign up: 1) monthly subscription - as long as you keep paying the $5 / month, it never expires 2) annual subscription - for a discounted rate of $50/yr, you can get 12 months of premium. But that expires unless you manually renew. I keep meaning to automate the notification process, but I can't seem to get to it. Which reminds me, I need to send out the december renewal notices. I've been a premium member, but if I recall ... it was last year in Dec - around Christmas time. An annual subscription. I just don't want to miss out by the end of the year. :) I just sent out the renewal notices for the month. You should have one in your mailbox. Yours actually expires on Christmas Day. I take it annual renewal notices are sent out? let me know...I think I am up for renewal in Feb. some time?
