  1. I don't see any other threads about a high school pitcher in new posts. Not that it really matters a guy throwing 4 straight no hitters is something I would think a baseball message board would be interested in.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/highschool/rise/baseball/news/story?id=4085015 He has 60 strikeouts in the 4 games including 17 in the most recent one. He reportedly hits 90 mph which likely will go up a little since he's only in high school.
  3. Yeah you guys can take your extra 7 wins a season, and I will take our 8 extra championships. I'll take the city of Chicago you can have the city of St. Louie.
  4. I actually really like the Mariners. I voted Dodgers because not only is it a really dumb one but it would be better with 'our' not 'my.'
  5. For her sake I hope so but she was in some of the videos so she was probably fine with them.
  6. The thought or idea is cool but the actual image of them is horrendous. I could see a team thinking it would be cool but once you saw the sketches no one should have given the green light for them to be made.
  7. 295th currently with 44 points. No one really killing me right now. I got two players at -5 and one at -1. Everyone else is positive.
  8. I would never go through the trouble of finding a guy like his number but that is hilarious.
  9. Dang, they were down 10+ in the third quarter so I turned the game off. Whoops. I saw it at 77-61 at one point and tuned out. Turned it back on just in time for the final shot though.
  10. I live with a Marlins fan ...
  11. It does but .. This year it was ... Rockets 2-0 Yao: 21 pts, 14.5 rebs (4.0 off), 1.5 blks, 1.5 stls, 1.5 to, 60.7 FG% Howard: 13 pts, 9.5 rebs (2.0 off), 2.5 blks, 0.5 stls, 2.0 to, 47.6 FG% Last year it was ... Tied 1-1 Yao: 22.5 pts, 13.5 rebs (5.5 off), 1.5 blks, 1.0 stls, 3.5 to, 47.2 FG% Howard: 18.5 pts, 9.5 rebs (1.5 off), 2.0 blks, 1.5 stls, 1.0 to, 50.0 FG%
  12. That highlight reel is scary. Couldn't watch all of it.
  13. Somewhere, Dwight Howard is frowning. I figured somebody would bring that up. The two of them are dead even by most experts opinions. About half choose Howard and half choose Yao. I choose Yao for obvious reasons but you should look at their head-to-head stats. I don't really think it's even all that close. Yao is a better shooter. Leaps and bounds a better shooters. But, what does he do better than Howard outside of jump shots and FTs? Howard has only missed 3 total games in his 5 seasons in the league. Yao has missed 93 in 7 seasons. Howard is much better defensively and pulls down a whole lot more boards. Yao's not just a better shooter...he's a better overall offensive player. Better shooter, better post moves, better passer, etc. Howard is still pretty raw when it comes to establishing himself on the block and carrying an offense that way. In fact, I'm not sure he'll ever be a true #1 option on offense in the mold of Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, etc. If you've got Howard, you've got to surround him with shooters because you can take him out of the game offensively otherwise. But yeah, I'd still take Howard because of his defense, youth, health, and conditioning (Yao isn't going to ever be a guy that can play 40 minutes consistently). If this is a discussion of who you would want now AND for the future its Howard hands down. But as for who is the best right now that is very much up for debate. I don't think you can pick wrong either way. The head to head stats FWIW are ... Rockets 7-2 Yao: 23.6 pts 10.4 rebs 2.11 blks 58.1 FG% Howard: 12.2 pts 9.6 rebs 1.97 blks 45.1 FG%

  15. yeah i heard he's not actually a kid but really a 34 year old man
  16. Yao has 24 pts on 9-9 shooting at halftime. He's also 6-6 from the free-throw line. I love having the best center in the league on my team.
  17. And then HIS younger brother: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoLlj86pgos&feature=related What a GODAWFUL uglyass family! No wonder they live in MISSOURAH!!!! Read the comments on that one. They are hilarious.
  18. .... :yahoo:
  19. I'm a bit disappointed. I wanted Miles to hit it so we can get the best creepy cards fan video to date.
  20. Got the package today. Just wanted to say thanks to Vance for organizing it all, as well as Laura.
  21. Yes but each time Portland played them, one of their stars were out. Roy missed 1 game and I believe Oden missed 2 of them. As did Fernandez Looking at the box score of the first game I only see Oden missing from Portland. Meanwhile it was in the first week of the season when the Rockets still had no idea how to play Artest and T-Mac and Battier was still out with an injury (plus Wafer wasn't playing yet). That was the 2 pt overtime loss at Portland. The second game I only see Oden missing and that was when Landry was out for the Rockets. The Rockets won that game by 4 at home. The third game I don't see anyone missing from Portland but Landry was still out for the Rockets. The Rockets won that one by 14 at home.
  22. All you guys who keep picking Portland is 5 or 6 know the Rockets beat them in the season series 2-1 and the one loss was in overtime in Portland right?
  23. I wouldn't be surprised if the Magic beat the Celtics even with Garnett . I just wouldn't bet on it.
