  1. Any article written by baseball alamac isn't worth anything on this topic. They would obviously have a bias.
  2. Seeing it from that angle I agree with the ruling. Fisher deserved to be suspended while Kobe deserved to get a technical in the game and the refs just missed it. I'm not too familiar with the flagrant rules. What does Kobe being assessed a flagrant one do? Is it like the World Cup when it comes to yellow cards; if he gets another one he is automatically suspended a game?
  3. Sosa's inclusion in that list is just wrong. We can all presume what we want, but there's no actual evidence of anything with him... I see that in almost every steroid article and it just pisses me off. Pujols is not more associated with steroids than Sosa.
  4. Just read in the Daily Dime that "an elbow foul which makes contact above shoulder level" is an automatic one game suspension. Rondo didn't throw an elbow but Howard did. That's why Howard was suspended. Kobe threw an elbow and hit Artest above the shoulder. J.A. Adande says its an automatic suspension but Stu Jackson might skate on it because they don't want Kobe out.
  5. That'd be a smart move to piss Kobe off. Kobe's going to be pissed off ... because of the ref's. As someone pointed out on the Rockets message board Artest being thrown out will be an advantage for the Rockets. We were likely going to lose that game anyways but now Kobe is under the microscope because the ref's have been called out by the media for not seeing the elbow and calling Artest for the foul. Kobe got away with one so if its anything like what normally happens Kobe will have a couple questionable calls go against him. When he gets physical he will get fouled called him more often.
  6. The foul drew blood ... on Fisher. It made him start bleeding for the back of his head. That's not an area you easily bleed from and that was on the guy doing the hitting.
  7. The same way Bob Sanders can consistently lay out RB's bigger than him. Scola for one wasn't braced for it, was caught of guard, and Fisher threw full force into him. Bob Sanders is also running hard when he hits most of those guys that he lays out. Fisher took a step or two and flattened Scola. This is the equivalent of Bob Sanders laying out a Jeremy Shockey or Kellen Winslow, not a running back. If someone you have no idea throws their entire body into you you are going to fall down. When that guy weighs 210 pounds you are going to fall down fast. I have no idea how someone sees that and starts calling flop. It was half flop, half Scola just being weak. It was a flagrant foul, but that doesn't mean Scola didn't go down way easier that he should have. You must have never played sports and thus have no idea what its like having a guy throw their body into you. I've seen so many times in many different sports a much smaller guy knock a big guy down easily when the big guy didn't expect it.
  8. I liked the Bynum part. Ernie: What are you looking for Chuckster? Barkley: (looks under desk) Bynum. -------------------------------------------- Barkley: How many points Bynum have tonight? Ernie: Zero. Barkley: The same amount I had tonight.

  10. I fully expect Kobe to get heckled like crazy next game in Houston (and Fisher if he plays) but a lot of people on the Rockets message board are calling for a RAPE-IST chant. Ugh ...

  13. A suspension for that? That could be ruled as a box out or something. That wont be a suspension. No way. Especially not on Kobe. That said, this series is going to be awesome. Add in what he did last game and it should be. It was a box out until he cocked the elbow back and threw it at Artest. Kobe throws elbows more than anyone which why he has been suspended for it in the past. He had his elbow up at Artest chest, had him boxed out but then right as the ball was coming he cocked the elbow back so he could hit Artest. Fisher is definitely gone for at least a game though. Why do you continue to ignore past precedent? You ignored what I said after the Game 1 elbow you were complaining about so I'll repeat the same name. RAJON RONDO. I'm not going to lie and say Kobe's elbow wasn't intentional, because it very well may have been. I'd go so far as to say it probably was. But what Rondo did to Brad Miller and Kirk Hinrich in successive games was easily worse than what Kobe's done. So if Rondo, who isn't considered a star player, doesn't get suspended, do you really think Kobe, who is a star, is going to be? I also don't think it was so blatant that he should be suspended. With Fisher, though, I wouldn't be surprised if he did get suspended. Take some of your own advise and reread what I have posted. Maybe you are taking my use of "should" wrong but I said Kobe should be suspended for throwing an intentional elbow in two straight games (just as he was a couple years ago when he did it out on the perimeter). There's a difference between saying someone should be and actually believing he will be.
  14. Just thinking about it right now this shows the one of the major flaws with Kobe. Unlike others he uses his superstar status to not get away with fouls but to get away with dirty, trying to injury a guy fouls. Jordan, LeBron ... etc. have too much class to throw elbows and the such. Yep Jordan was all class all the time, just ask Steve Kerr and Danny Ferry. Or for craps and giggles ask Dennis Hopson what he thinks about MJ. To my knowledge, and I was 13 when Jordan retired the 2nd time, Jordan didn't throw elbows. He grabbed jerseys and the such, which a lot of guys have done, but he didn't try to hurt guys by throwing elbows.

  16. I'm 646. Inge is killing me and then I have a bunch of guys who are right around 5-10. So I have a team full of mediocre to bad players but no awful players.

  18. Kobe better get a damn suspension. Two games in a row he has thrown a deliberate elbow.
  19. Even with Kobe and the rest of the Lakers shooting some ridiculous 80% or thereabouts in the first quarter the Rockets have the lead a couple minutes before halftime. Rockets bench (Landry included BTFU!) are dominating right now.
  20. Okay I had to logon one more time to post this. ESPN box score has us up 4-0 at the top of the 9th. However Harden has 3 innings pitched and Hapton 4. No one else is listed as having pitched.
  21. Don't know if anyone has said it already and I'm at work so I can't really look but ESPN currently has the boxscore as Cubs winning 4 to -1. Yeah thats right -1.
  22. Where the hell are you guys finding all these random pictures? Google image search has provided me with only mundane choices. Thats where I saw it. Looking again its on page 7 for me. You went through 7 pages of Rich Harden pictures and settled on the one of him in his underwear?  I didn't start the thread. I said I saw it when I had a game thread with Harden pitching. Besides it takes about 40 seconds to go through 7 pages. You just skim it looking for anything out of the ordinary.
  23. Prior seems like a prime candidate to take 3 or 4 years off completely away from baseball and then make some big comeback. I think he if just rested the arm for a year or two he would probably be able to pitch again for a year or two. I can see him making a comeback at 32 or 33.
  24. This thread would be a lot better with more photos.
  25. She had the pace down and words down. Thats all I ask for. I hate when someone sings the wrong word/s and really hate when they go way to fast and ruin the whole thing.
