  1. Theriot seems to hitting with the sweet spot again. Thought he might have had No. 6 then. And as I write BRADLEY goes boom.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4204044 Didn't see this posted yet if it is then lock it up. Bradley says umps are calling everything strikes on him in retaliation to his altercation earlier this year. While I agree that there have been quite a few close calls that have gone against him he goes on to essentially blame the refs for everything this season. That's the part that makes me cringe. The guy isn't taking no blame for his poor hitting or at least that's how it comes off to me. Sorry dude but you aren't seeing the ball and you sure as heck aren't hitting the ball. Maybe a pitch or two a came that could be called a ball is being called a strike but the reason you have sucked is all on you. I'm losing my patience with Bradley more and more and something like this just makes me think he will never do much because he refuses to see the wrong he is doing.
  3. Watch out for the ban hammer. He's still waiting for an opportunity to go Thor on someone's ... you know what.
  4. that shot was a hail mary. mj never put up a hail mary because he never put himself in a situation where he needed to take one. :rotfl: Hate to break it to you but Jordan and the Bulls failed to pull series' out that they could have won until the breakthrough year when they won the first title. See the Jordan led Bulls failing to get out of the first round the first three times in the playoffs with Jordan, see losing three straight years to the Pistons prior to winning the first title. Everyone has forgotten all that, or chooses to ignore it, but for Jordan's first 5-6 years he wasn't all that great at pulling out series wins. Once he got a great supporting cast everything took off. Gee that sounds a lot like LeBron, except LeBron has never lost in the first round. I'm not big into trying to compare the two's playoff history because they were different era's but please don't be so ignorant to say Jordan never put his team in the position to make a miraculous shot or face defeat. They lost plenty early on in Jordan's career.
  5. Miles didnt steal anyhting, Hendry should be fired for giving it to him Embezzlement.
  6. The ultimate fake rally. Screw moving Sori to 2B. Move Hoff to first, kill DLee, call up Fox for LF. I would be joking except right now I would take 11-6 losses over what we got now. 2 RUNS IN 36 INNINGS. Lou what F are doing. Start calling people out. Its overdue.
  7. Shouldn't this have waited until after the game? Cubs could still come back and win tonight.
  8. I guess God hates you. Wow Im shocked you have a smartass comment. Completely unexpected It would be like me being surprised that you're wallowing in melodramatic misery yet again. Uh oh. Hide the women and children, advert your eyes. We got a cat fight! Meow.
  9. doesn't matter, it hit him I don't know why but that reminded me of the line "it doesn't matter it's in the past." Can anyone name that movie? Yes if you are wondering it is THAT movie.
  10. I wonder if Theriot is looking at Eckstein with envy wishing that he could be as gritty as him.
  11. Uh oh hopefully this doesn't get ugly with revenge pitches. Z is in his first game back hopefully Padres realize that.
  12. Hey we took two walks. That's at least a step in the right direction. Is our offense better if we just don't swing at all?
  13. Oh there will definitely be more than two runs scored in the game. All by our opposition but still more than two runs.
  14. The move that causes us to get Peavy?
  15. We're not getting 2003 Soriano at 2b. We're getting 2009 Soriano at 2b, with six years of wear and tear on his legs. Yeah but we don't have the 2008 Fontenot. We have the craptastic new model where everything of good was stripped and only the cheap bad is left.
  16. x1000. If he actually was good enough, the Cubs wouldn't have been enough to ruin him on their own. Look at Walton and Smith and Grace and Palmeiro and even Sosa for that matter even though he wasn't in our minor league system. If the coaches on any level saw enough in him to warrant playing time, he would have been given the chance. We gave freaking Kevin Orie and Brant Brown significant playing time. We definately produced some talent at that point. Hell Jamie Moyer is still pitching today. But also Maddux, Dunston, Grace, Girardi, et. There were some guysfrom the era of BK that made it inspite of our organizations downfalls. Plus I am sure it was Tampa Bay's fault for never playing him once he was picked in the expansion draft too. What are you peoople talking about? BK was drafted in '93, none of the guys you discussed were part of that "era". Those were all mid-80's or earlier guys. Different people in charge. They produced no hitters. Brooks may not have made it regardless of coaching, but I firmly believe that teams can destroy talent and ruin their chances, and I am convinced the Cubs, especially of that era, did it frequently. What about Kerry Wood, Rey Sanchez, Doug Glanville, Jon Garland? Is that a joke? I really can't tell. If the hitter you hang your hat on for an era is a guy like Sanchez who had 1300 hits and an OPS under .700 for his career than you really really sucked at developing/evaluating hitters. Dough Glanville isn't any better either.
  17. Yea, I was mostly just being a condescending smart ass. :) Your sig has never been more relevant.
  18. Yeah if Sori and Hoff keep hitting and we actually start scoring runs. If Hoff can hit at his current. .929 OPS rate or even .850 and Sori doesn't drop off offensively I'll take an extra error every other game or so. I don't see why Sori would drop off. Someone mentioned he is a comfort zone guy earlier in this thread, well he has said before that he prefers 2B to the outfield. With our offense been absolute crap right now we have to get a bat like Hoffpauir in the lineup and a guy like Fontenot out. Our lineup isn't even good crap right now. We are like a great dane pile of crap offensively rather than a poodle pile of crap.
  19. From the coule games this season and now the three or four this postseason I don't see why Kenyon continues to start over the Birdman except that Kenyon would throw a fit and cause a rift. Martin just isn't that good anymore meanwhile Anderson can rebound and is one of the best big man defenders in the game.
  20. He might be bitter but if all that really happened I don't blame him. Plus its not like he was talking about it out of the blue. He was asked about it in an interview.
  21. When I covered the Ball State team for two years I talked to the coach about this a couple times. He said it will never be equal or fair but it could be a lot closer to it. He said the biggest thing would be a uniform start date for when practices can start that is later in the year. As it is southern teams start getting real batting practice and probably more importantly fielding practice a couple months before any northern team can. Coach Beals told me that some years the first time they field a ball on grass is in the first inning of their first game.
