  1. How'd Michigan get the ball back. I had one of those Gulf storms come up and pour for 10 minutes and my DirectTV went out. I saw the missed FG and then the next thing I saw was the TD.
  2. WHy is Michigan running QB's and doing reverses with under a minute to go?
  3. We're not on ESPN 360 tonight. And Purdue is on FSN, not BTN. Dang on the 360. So the B10 network can't show it even though the FSN West won't be viewable anywhere except the west coast? Why are the TV restrictions so effing stupid in sports. Or is it being broadcasted nationally on all FSN's?
  4. I just realized how much tonight is going to suck. I have the Ball State game I want to follow (possibly watch on ESPN360) I then have the OSU vs. USC game at 8 pm. Then I have the Purdue game on Big Ten Network starting at 9:15. I can't really watch all three.
  5. really? i don't care who wins (stadium collapse is preferred result) and i thought it was obvious... ball was out for more than long enough for the michigan guy to ease up. You have to realize Andy is the most pessimistic fan you will ever know.
  6. Did the person in charge of that decision go on to be a sports writer for the OC Register?
  7. Is it an advantage to win the coin toss? Sure. Is it a "major" advantage? No. 60-40 is a major advantage.... It would only be a "major advantage" if the team that losses the coin flip can't stop the team that won it. Contrary to popular belief more times then not OT games are not decided on the first drive. Correct but nearly 30% of the time it does and that is a very high percentage in my mind. One thing I don't think has been mentioned is that not all teams are built the same. Some teams are built around offense, some defense and some both. The Colts are very likely to win a game if they win the coin toss because they have such a great offense. They are however likely to lose a game if they lose the toss because their defense isn't very good.
  8. It already is fair and yes it absolutely would extend the game much. It's sudden death for a reason. Uhh one possession guarantee is going to extend the game one possession a large majority of the time. That is not a long time. An extra 10 minutes to give each team an equal chance to win in overtime seems like an obvious thing to do.
  9. No, what I'm saying is all the whiny babies who cry about OT being unfair are completely ridiculous and they need to shut up. Nobody is being robbed of anything. It is fair. Everybody has the same chance, they had the same chance when they took the field that day (discounting HFA, weather conditions, health, etc) and they had the same change when regulation ended. If you lose in OT, too bad, you lost a football game. If you cry about losing in OT, you are an idiot. Settle down and stop calling everyone who disagrees with you an idiot.
  10. Just guarantee each team one possession. Its a simple and easy solution. It won't extend the length of the game that much and it makes it a lot more fair.
  11. After reading that I like Junior Seau even more.
  12. Felipe Lopez has one powerful punch.
  13. I don't understand why everyone is picking the 49ers to do any worse than last year. They were 7-9 last year and 5-3 once Singletary was hired and ordered Hill to be the starter. I'm not saying Hill is anything above an average QB but with him our offense stays on the field long enough to allow our defense to shine. Also we have a great running attack with Gore, Coffee and an O-line built for run blocking. They have almost the same exact team as last year. Last year they were one of the youngest teams so one more year of experience plus Hill and a offense built to our strengths means we should only do better. Oh and 5 of those 8 games Hill started were on the road.
  14. In one of the two games I always root for Michigan every year. The other being Ohio State. I'm really excited about the Purdue game. On the road at Oregon. Not the same Oregon we thought it would be but it's still on the road at a decent BCS school. I want to see if Bolden really is that good.
  15. My son still sends out s.a.s.e. He gets mixed results too, but he smiles for a month when he gets one back. What is this? I can't think of what a s.a.s.e. would be.
  16. the kicking game didn't hurt Miami nearly as bad as it hurt FSU. unbelievable how the kicker keeps hurting them in this series. I'm convinced this is sarcasm now. There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
  17. I would hope you're being sarcastic.
  18. I'm going to guess Dew does.
  19. Wow. Could end up be the best game of the year.
  20. He might not have gotten that foot down. Looks like it comes up right as he catches it. edit: I would say its a catch.
  21. WOW what a throw.
