  1. Well at least whoever comes in won't inherit a BCS caliber team creating an immediate false hope for BCS every year. I would love the 49ers to get Tate, even though we definitely won't. He has always seemed a top notch prospect at WR (once he switched from RB). He has great physical tools and seems to have a knack for getting open.
  2. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: He will be great again. Not only did his pitching dominate in the NL last year but he is the type of pitcher that should flourish under Duncan. Their rotation is going to be nasty.
  3. I'm a fan of Tirico, nor do I hate him, but tonight he needs to just shut up. He's play-by-play and yet every play he is inserting his opinion which every time has been something critical and negative. Sure make some comments but you snide remarks every play get old after three quarters. He has been way to pompous and critical tonight.
  4. By the numbers, he's certainly got the qualifications. But the Balco stuff and his generally antagonistic relationship with the media will likely keep him out. I would say there is a very slim chance he gets in. Guys even somewhat rumored to have done steroids are not getting votes. Sheff is as close as it gets to knowing a guy took steroids. He is one of THE guys in BALCO and anyone associated with that will almost definitely not get in because the players with votes will blacklist them. Then as Rob said he was a complete jerk with the media so he won't get help from them.
  5. Not to slurp myself but I would say I have the best chance of upsetting in the playoffs. After failing to score over 100 pts in 4 of the first 7 weeks I have scored over 100 in 5 of the last 6. Assuming Rodgers gets 4 points in the second half I will be 7-6 winning five of my last six.
  6. I get to put up with Tebow is Jesus fans on New Year's. Wonderful. I wonder how many fights will break out on Bourbon Street on New Year's Eve.
  7. Another year like this and I think they will be forced to change. This crap is old and I think this bowl season people are finally going stop supporting it (not watching the games).
  8. I bet the advertisers are drooling over this one I thought Ohio/Marshall was an even better one. Two nothing teams that are nowhere near the site of the bowl. No one is going to that game. Yeah, NIU should be heading to the Pizza Bowl. They would've drawn much more than either of those two teams. NIU in Canada is intriguing. A holiday trip up there would be pretty interesting, although USF will more than likely win that game by 17-20 points. I was up there two years ago when Ball State played in the International Bowl. It's a really good time. Toronto is a great city, and they do a good job with the bowl. Except no cell phone and -10 degree weather.
  9. Your running back runs for 200+ yards, what kind of offense do you call next time you face that opponent? 45 passes and 9 runs. Yep. Again I say Jimmy Raye is the worst OC in the league.
  10. I don't know what is more nerve racking watching your team try to hold and force OT on TV or watch your team try to hold and force OT on a game tracker.
  11. Need a big game from Rodgers to win.
  12. 49ers are going to blow a game they have mostly dominated. By blowing this game they blow any chance at the division.
  13. ohhhh, i get it. It's not meant to be clever just to get them on TV and that is one that will likely get them on TV.
  14. So my brother got tickets on the 40 yard line in the fifth row for the Packers game. He's going with his father-in-law who is big, fat and has a long white beard. He's going to make him take a sign that says Favre is getting coal. My brother wants a clever sign, preferably using ESPN (he's thinking __ __ Packer Nation).
  15. I saw the review on a Fox game break and it looked pretty obvious to me. Nah, it was borderline. His forearm was on the ground. It could have gone either way, easily. It shouldn't have been overturned. It was not 100% conclusive evidence that Sellers didn't have his forearm down first.
  16. Perfect pass and Laron Landry once again looking like an idiot in no man's land.
  17. Living in N.O. has it advantages. I still got the game on.
  18. It's a shame because he was really doing well and starting to hit the dominant area defenisvely.
  19. Yes, lets replace Hill with a guy who hit for an even worse average, got on base even less, was worse on defense, and made over a million dollars more. lol do your research or prepare to be embarrassed on this board
  20. why would he? Because Hill isn't very good? I'm not going to pretend like I know a great deal about Koyie Hill but the guy committed 3 errors in over 600 innings and hit better than most backups and some starters in his first season of consistent play. He seems like an above average backup catcher to me.
  21. Greinke. I guess but Grienke has one season on this level and then 100+ starts and 650 or so inning on a 3.5-4 ERA level (I know it's not the end all be all but its a good starting point). Meanwhile Lincecum has done it in two straight seasons and only has his rookie season where he didn't dominate. Still though there are 2 people who didn't even vote for him as the best in the NL.
  22. Turner down for 8 weeks. Oops.
  23. I demand the 4 people who haven't voted for him as best period explain why. Not that it will really solve anything because their is no sensible reason.
  24. In terms of comparing Frank Thomas and Edgar Martinez its not even close. Let's see Frank has 200+ more home runs, 400+ more RBIs, nearly 300 more runs, a higher OPS, 2 MVP's to Edgar's 0 (both came in year's he played almost exclusively 1B) and finally Frank played 400 more games in the field.
