  1. I agree England is the better team especially up front and in the midfield but you make it sound as if we got no shot. To me we are a wild card team. We have never zeroed in on a lineup. Some of them have been bad and some have been good. The back and forth level of play due to that has hurt our ranking and the overall opinion of how good we are. However, if we do get the right lineup together (your guess is as good as mine) I think we got as much talent and potential as anyone. Your post comes off as play for the tie because that's the best we can hope for. I think that would be foolish.
  2. Am I the only one who thinks banking in a buzzer shot isn't overly impressive?
  3. I don't think the Michigan bust rate is any higher than other programs. Edwards isn't even really a bust either. I do remember a stretch where it seemed like every Michigan skill player was crappy in the NFL (thanks Terrell and A-Train!). I wouldn't really put A-Train in there. He did have two 1,000 yard seasons for you guys and its not like he was a top 10-15 pick or anything. Now the expectations were really high after a great rookie season and he never lived up to them but was good for a couple years. Terrell on the other hand ...
  4. After the Gregg experience I would have thought people on this board would have realized how important the closer position is. If he screws up you lose. Not many can deal with that pressure and Wagner is one of the best. It's a good deal but not great. There is risk. And I can't help but laugh out loud at people who think no RP should get paid $7 million. Good luck winning with a crap bullpen.
  5. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
  6. Everybody hates Duke ... a lot.
  7. BTW Bo Ryan is a smart guy. He sent his daughter to Purdue.
  8. Probably the father of kids who fight for their right to party. I bet he has their best porno mags too. What a hypocrite.
  9. I didn't win anything and yet have seen two league messages from the commish asking for winners info so he can send the money. Maybe you should check the league.
  10. I love me some Daryl. He has facebook and actually posts multiple times a day with observations and responds a to comments.
  11. Michigan is officially on my ---- list. Normally I don't care about them as much as IU, Illinois, Ohio State and Wisconsin (in basketball not football). However after their choke job that will likely cost us the victory they will be enemy No. 2 after IU. What they hell is with Minnesota and Michigan?
  12. Results from Orlando camp the year he was drafted was 36.5 and that was when he was half way through the program in Indy. http://collegebasketballnews.scout.com/2/649254.html
  13. people think of landry as one of those ground-bound undersized guys who move people with their ass like barkley, but i was surprised by how athletic he was He was a ground bound guy in college at Purdue. Just bullied his way in and had good post moves. He went to this place in Indy that a bunch of athletes have started going to. They specialize and increasing your flexibility and agility. He upped his vertical from 32 inches to 40 inches. He said he had never worked on anything other than bulk which is why he improved so much. So now he is a slimmed down quick 6'9" dude with a 40 inch vert.
  14. I'm gonna guess we get a rematch with Spain and then Ghana and Greece.
  15. Good. I'm in 7th and will need to beat my opponent to stay there. If I lose it will come down to total points which I don't like my chances in.
  16. From sucking off the ACC so much?
  17. Michigan State is not playing like a team deserving to be in the top 20 and I'm not just talking about this game. Something is amiss. They will likely get it together though. Too much talent to not especially with the experience they have.
  18. You have to share the cookie.
  19. When I stop being so damn attractive. Are you really really ridiculously good looking?
  20. holy smokes When the city shuts down at noon so everyone has 7+ hours to party before the game, it better get loud. That was just so odd. I had to work overnight shift tonight at the hotel I work at downtown. I got to work just as the game was ending and people were getting back to the French Quarter to party. The party went on around where I was until 5 in the morning and when I left work at 7:30 I could see there were still quite a few people in the FQ.
  21. Nope, it's because they are Duke. You gotta embrace it. Every year they are in the top ten, every year they are out by round two. Yet, Coach K is a master coach who gets the most out of his players. 1) Purdue jumped a bunch of teams after their win, including Duke. Before either win, Duke was ahead of Purdue, so.. 2) Duke dominated UConn much more than Purdue and Tennessee. The game was never really in doubt after the first 15 minutes, maybe. 3) Duke's team is much different this year than in past year. But sure, it is because they are Duke. I think you are looking at the wrong poll. But yeah I could really careless at this point. Just a minor annoyance.
  22. Johnson must have a big game for them to win and VY can't make mistakes. Even that might not be enough, but if Johnson is held in check and/or VY throws a couple picks, the Titans don't have a chance. Speaking of CJ he set the record for most yards in a month with his game Sunday. I don't much like the stat because the leaders of it were lucky enough to have 5 games in one month. Anyways I did some compiling of 5 game rushing totals when my brother asked me to find some comparable streaks when we were arguing about CJ being the best RB in the league. This is before this past game so it's a little out of date (kept forgetting to post this). I'll try to get it updated some time this week.
  23. 49ers enter the make or break portion of the schedule. Back into division play and no game is left that we can't win. We swept the division the first time around. If we do that again we will be at worst one game behind Arizona with the tiebreaker and having Detroit and Phily left. Taking Detroit as a win we will have the Philly game to be either 10-6 or 9-7. Meanwhile Arizona has Minnesota and Green Bay left on their schedule. They had better lose this week to Minny. That makes the 49ers v. Cardinals game in week 14 for the division lead and it is in San Fran. Basically what I am saying is the division is not close to being won yet. It could very well come down to the last week when Arizona plays Green Bay. With all that said San Fran has to get through a dangerous game in Seattle this week. We don't normally do very well against Seattle but then again Alex Smith is improving each week and has developed into a decent QB now that we are using the spread type offense.
  24. I love how Purdue gets jumped in the polls because Duke beat No. 13 UConn even though Purdue beat No. 11 Tennessee. That's the difference between playing a high profile team in the states and playing a somewhat high profile team in Virgin Islands where few could watch.
