    ooh! ooh! lemme guess! one of those pitchers hasn't hurt himself in their game this week. maakmotaERRRRRRRRmark mulder was taken out of the game in the first inning against philadelphia. Mulder needs to just give up that guy is as bad as Prior and was never as good to begin with.

    Not to bring up old demon arguments but people blaming him for Dusty's hire are just being unfair and dumb. When we hired him away from SF a large large majority loved it and kept loving it right up until the implosion of 2004.

    I've found myself watching less of ESPN in general because they create their own news and run way to many according to sources stories. Like the Favre mess. They report he wants to come back he denies it and then have the balls to make their poll has favre tainted his legacy with the comeback talk. NO because he hasn't said anything only you have. To the all-star game. I'm interested to see what the pitching order will be. According to yahoo Z is starting which I think is because they want Z and Soto together because Soto knows how to handle Z and how he likes to pitch. After that I wonder if we throw in Demp so he can pitch and inning before Soto is pulled. It would be awesome to have the first two pitchers of the game and then Wood close the door.

    Maybe they don't want a rookie catcher and rookie pitcher as starters. Also if the NL wants to win they likely need a good start and having a pitcher and catcher from the same team play the same innings would be a good idea.

    Just saw IU reinstated Lewis from suspension. Two things come to mind. You suspend a guy for his offseason. Doesn't really seem to do much to me. He missed zero playing time. Secondly someone seems desperate for some good news and desperate for a good football season to shift the eye off of basketball.

    You're the fourth person to speak up, and the most openings possible is three. Unless someone ahead of you in line changes their mind you'll be out of luck for this year. No reason why you (or somebody else) shouldn't start up another league; there's no rule that there can only be one NSBB league. :cry: You could always take out a contract and eliminate somebody ahead of you in line. :lol: I got eyes in the back of my head. Just sayin. :flame: I'm going into hiding until draft time :ninja:

    The big difference is that Rose denied for many many years before finally admitting it. Rose also had already receieved his punishment before confessing. Finally, and most importantly, betting on baseball affects the integrity of the game in that the people involved might try to lose on purpose. Guys that take steroids are trying to help their team win. Except Rose only bet on his team to win. I don't think you can justify either in any way shape or form. I don't care if what you do helps your team win. Someone has to lose and no one should lose because someone cheated. A user helping his team wins means the other team lost unfairly, although in all likelyhood someone on the other team was using too.

    They have different covers for each system. Matt Ryan is on PS3, Owen Schmitt (?) is on PSP, DeSean Jackson is on PS2 and for some unknown reason, NCAA is celebrating its debut on the Wii by having Sparty the mascot on the cover. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I'll probably hold off on a PS3 until Madden comes out. So that means I'm relegated to having DeSean Jackson on the cover of my game. Awesome ](*,) (although Matt Ryan isn't much better). Not to get off subject (okay yes to get off subject) but I read story the other day that Sony has lost over a billion on the PS3 and unless things turnaround soon are thinking of becoming solely a game designer and not coming out with anymore consoles.

    Might want to pick up a math book. 4 starts in arizona and 3 more in iowa is 7 total. On a normal 5 day roation thats a wopping 35 days. That is early to mid August and thats your worst case scenario (if he has turned the corner). Best case is a week or two after all-star break. Pitch a game or two in Arizona then get the break to reevaluate and look over his starts then a couple starts in Iowa. If all went well he would be back a week or two after all-star break. However I'm going to count it as a fluke session and not count on him at all. That way if he does turnaround its a huge bonus rather than the alternative of getting my hopes up and then being disappointed.

    what an [expletive] is miklasz. go jimmy Does the guy know how to write a paragraph with more than one sentence? Damon was cheered when he first played against the Red Sox and everytime after he's just another Yankee.

    There are quite a few years that we've had 81 or 77 games where a minor league team took the field.

    Theriot, Marshall, Murton+prospects for Burnett+Eckstein? Heeeeeck no. Eckstein is not very close to Theriot right now and is 5 years or so older. Burnett isn't a huge improvement over Marshall just big. Plus that trade pretty much kills us from trading for anyone else of any caliber. If the Brewers really are as close to Sabathia as they think, we will need something to counter. Rich Harden would be ieal, but with the A's in contention, theres no reason for them to move him. Burnett is the next best option, and if taking Eckstein off their hands is the way to get him, so be it. While hes a career .700 OPSer, we could do a lot worse at the 8 spot in our lineup. We could do worse but right now we have better in Theriot so why f-it up. Plus it seems to me the team is very very close and Theriot is one of the better liked guys so you risk the chemistry issue as well. And this is all without mention that Burnett and Eckstein both get paid much much more than the others meaning whoever our owner is next offseason whether the same or new will be less inclined to sign a big FA.

    How funny would it be if we got David Eckstein another beloved Cardinal. Perhaps even funnier is we would have the two grittiest white players in the history of baseball. Alas I doubt we would care to get Eckstein in trade (I don't really either).

    I liked it alot. Liked teh tease intro where you can hear the crowd but don't knwo yet what is happening. Liked how you delayed the music and picked a great song. Liked how you showed more than just the hit and then the ball over the wall (him rounding bases, pitcher's hanging head). The one complaint is on the second home run in the white sox game. You should perhaps put a graphic up saying later that inning and definately let it play for 2 more seconds so Len finishes saying he went deep twice in one inning.
