Every reliever should be available tomorrow anyway. Howry will be the only one who pitched 2 consecutive days. I'd rather not kill Marmols arm though. Last year he pitched in 59 games and 69.1 innings. This year he has already pitched in 48 games and 51.1 innings. He started the season at AAA so overall he had more innings than that last year. EDIT - sorry late to the party on that one everybody go home illini f-ed it up for everyone
I like Marmol here. The way he has been craptastic lately I think it is a good spot to put him in to end a game where you still have a bit of a cushion so if he gives up 4 runs with no hits again we can still get the W.
Do you remember how he pitched at the end of last year? 11 innings pitched and only 1 run allowed so I think he earned his playoff roster spot. Not sure why he can't get it together this year. After what I've seen from both players today I vote from bringing Hill up and sending Hart to Mesa.
I would expect someone to offer him something around 4 yrs/42-48 mil if his era stays under 3.75. If his era is right at 3.75 he'll get offered 42 mil if it stays say around 3.40 he'll get offered 48 mil.
what i'd LIKE to see and what he should be allowed to do are two very different things. well he's got 53 pitches through 4. At that pace he can go 8 on 106 pitches and have 16 strikeouts.
Personally, I'd like to see 4 or so good starts at AAA before bringing him back up to the majors. The last thing they want is for him to not be quite ready and then have to send him back down or whatever. If he comes up, it better be for good. That and Marquis has been pretty good lately which is bound to not last but you don't replace him when he's doing well.
Penguins will soon have a dynasty. They got arguably the two best players in the league and both are under 22 years old. And their goalie young and good too.
I like to eat mine alone. That way I don't have to share. I eat mine by dipping the whole thing in milk until just before it starts to fall apart and then eat it. By the end I have a cup of some what chocolate milk. It's the bonus for all my hard work.
He would be a great pinch hitter but I doubt he would ever take that role. And seriously people there have been one year wonders dating all the way back to the creation of MLB. He was always big.
I had a smirk from how bad they were all the way through but when Pena said big guy in a small ship like Farley said fat guy in a little coat I lost it. That is the cheesiest I don't care what Mac & Cheese try to claim the Rays take the noodle.
I'll take Theriot this season and for the future no money angle included. You look simply at the numbers and Theriot is already better than Jeter and that gap will only widen in the coming years. In a year or two there could be a big issue with jeter. He will be so bad at SS defensively that no team will play him there yet has never learned to play another position. He is no longer a good enough hitter to use as your exclusive DH so where does he go. It's either he learns 2b or he learns to be content with retirement in my eyes. Theriot isn't good at defense but has shown he can play 2b already which is easier defensively so when he slips you can move him over. Jeter is a good leader but that really doesn't hold too much weight. Players all adults and only go so far with leadership plus it's not like Theriot is going to be any kind of problem player. Jeter used to be a great player but used to holds no weight in this kind of discussion. In regard to the person who said how long can someone be overrated when every thinks he is. Well when you get MVP votes with the kind of season he had last year you will keep that overrated title.
