  1. McCoy Tebow Bradford (it will probably be the exact opposite of that) I think Tebow could steal it in a sense. McCoy and Bradford could split the Big XII votes/people who won't let Tebow win twice.
  2. Well the question says a package. I'm not willing to send Marmol along with others for Peavy. I think people are generally assuming we won't get Peavy for Marmol and a bunch of crap.
  3. he's clever enough with the ball and he has a quick enough shot to get it off in the nba, at least i think he does. if you look at him and then look at jj redick when he came out, who looks like a better prospect? curry by a mile, because he can create his own shot and he looks like he might actually be able to run the point. I think he looks like a less muscular version of Ben Gordon. Quick with a quick release and a great shot. if you take ben gordon's strength away, he wouldn't be nearly the same player, though. and i don't think that curry is very quick at all, at least not nba quick. really? he seems really quick to me. maybe it's as much cleverness and body control as quickness, but i think he can hang in the nba in that department. the only thing is he's going to have to be able to shoot a high percentage in the nba, cause he won't be able to defend bigger point guards at all. i could see him as kind of like the kevin martin of point guards, maybe. i think it's the cleverness, or resourcefulness with the ball in his hands. he just seems to know which way to go and how to get his man in the air and when to shoot. it's not quickness at all. i mean, if you look at the guys playing for UNC or UConn---that's quickness, that's ungodly quickness. he's just very decisive and wise with the ball, although after turning th ball over 8 times last game, i don't know how much water that sentiment holds right now. I agree. He does a lot of Rip or Reggie things to get open. He cuts just inside or outside of a guy so the defender has no choice but to trail him. He does that kind of thing all game long to get open and we all know him with a small opening is game over.

Agast what is this! I'm agreeing with IMB. Am I still dreaming? He showed off some good passing skills last night as well. I think he can make a very good sharp shooting point guard. He's no where near as good of a passer (although he could get there don;t really know yet) but I can't help but see Steve Nash. He can shoot, is quick enough to drive but isn't really big enough to do it much and more so than anything else he can just see the court like no one else. All those things I think describe both Curry and Nash. Will Curry be as good as Nash? I highly doubt it. Those type of PG's don't come around often but in terms of comparing Curry to someone that's who I see.
  5. I was shocked when I saw the numbers of how cheap he went. Gagne effect? Maybe teams just won't pay a ridiculous amount for a closer anymore. K-rod set the standard at 12.3 million per and everyone else should fall quite a bit below.
  6. I hate not being able to go to that. They finally get a good team into Muncie at a non-holiday point in the schedule and I go do a stupid thing like graduate. Should be interesting. Well I hate being in school and having absolutely no income. Its one thing to make money and just not have a whole lot of excess its another to just not make it.
  7. You'll go far with a closed mind like that. Christmas and Santa are fine and dandy. If you want to raise your kids with them fine its your choice but someone who doesn't isn't an a-hole. There is more than one way to live in this world. I'm utterly shocked by how many of you can't see that. MILLIONS GROW UP IN THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT BOTH AND ARE NO WORSE FOR IT.
  8. That's because it doesn't exist. That doesn't make any sense. You can't imagine that cruel world because it doesn't exist. Not really that hard to understand.
  9. Another quality post.
  10. That's because it doesn't exist.
  11. Any general HoF thread turns into a Santo and/or Dawson argument on a Cubs message board.
  12. Just saw the Purdue team eating dinner at a McDonald's here in Muncie. Great dinner the night before a game :).
  13. you're missing the point No I understand the point that Christmas doesn't have to be religious but you are the missing the point that you don't have to celebrate Christmas. I have found memories from childhood and none of them involve Christmas. I know I had a good childhood and never resented or was upset that I didn't get to celebrate Christmas. The idea that Christmas is a must and any kid who doesn't celebrate it must be deprived is beyond idiotic. That's extreme ignorance of other traditions, religions and cultures. It's this type of thinking that leads to wars. You think people can't live without what you believe they need and eventually try to force it on people and they resist. Wake up realize there is more than one way to think about Christmas and that millions in this country alone grow up without it and turn out just fine. no, my original point was that my problem isn't that you don't celebrate Christmas, it's that you're saying that you're going to force a 3 year old to not believe in Santa. Let them believe what they want to. You're not even a parent and you already sound like the "my kid's will NOT read Harry Potter because there are witches in it" type of parent. i'll illustrate an example of what I mean. when my first daughter was born, my wife and I made a conscious decision to not make everything she wore pink, her nursery pink, etc. In other words, we weren't going to do the stereotypical gender color stuff. Now my daughter is almost 6, and she loves pink stuff, princesses, etc. We never said that she WOULDN'T ever wear pink, just that we weren't going to force it on her. you sound like the parent who will be saying "my child WON'T ________" a lot My kids won't believe in Santa Claus because I won't tell them the lie that he exists. Its not so much me not allowing them as them just not learning about him. I'm sure at some point they will ask me who he is because other kids are talking about it (or I might tell them at some point its not a decision one parent makes but both so I don't know). I won't tell them the lie I will tell them about St. Nick and how the legend came from that. I read Harry Potter (waited in line at midnight for the last two) and could very well read it to my kids. Also I too will not have my sons have blue and my daughters have pink. They will have all colors. My children will have a lot of freedom as I did. Kids don't learn from you telling them no they learn from doing it and see the bad effects. I will warn my kids about alcohol and drugs early on and throughout their life as my parents did but I will do as my father did with me. When I got old enough to start with that stuff he told me be careful, do what you think is right but know that if you get caught that's when all he liberties stop (actually told me home right after school and never go out except for sports). All I've tried to do in this thread is make people realize there is more than one way to raise kids and they don't have to grow up with Christmas to be functional adults. No one has acknowledged that fact yet. Be sure you explain all this to your future spouse before having children. And hopefully, she'll set your straight. 23 year old thank you. And I've made it obvious in my posts that I believe there are many more than one way to raise your kid.
  14. Congrats on another completely pointless post. What kind of troll are you BTW?

  16. Yeah I don't know how they can't be right with Purdue. They are two and four spots ahead of Purdue. They have the same records with Purdue losing to two top ranked teams and Notre Dame losing to one top team and one not. I would put them right with one another. Purdue looked ugly against Duke but I wouldn't count that as any worse than Notre Dame's lose to Ohio State.
  17. Oh and for the record I wouldn't put Dawson in. He has only two seasons of 100+ runs, 3 of 100+ RBI's, 1 40+ HRs, didn't walk much, struckout a lot, and his average is only .279. He is the classic example of a very good player who was lucky enough to not get injured and play 21 seasons. That makes him high on some career lists but not a HoFer. Close but no plaque.
  18. They'll be fine they'll have February small gift-giving from your parents half week. Please don't trivialize my holidays. I grew up fond of that holiday just as you probably did with Christmas and to trivialize it like you are is incredibly rude, insensitive and stupid.
  19. Now here's a fine IMB post. I seriously don't understand how you haven't been banned. Half your posts are personal attacks, trolling or have absolutely no barring on the conversation in a thread.

  21. so you're completely tossing his counting stats in favor of a rate stat? This is what I was saying earlier. Some people have longevity and stay around long enough to be high up on the counting stats. Some think that makes the person a HoFer some don't.
  22. Its that ice in your veins.
  23. Seriously people stop being ignorant and realize there are other religions and other holidays out there and you don't have to have Christmas to be normal. I guess no one but those who celebrate Christmas can be normal to you guys nevermind that eliminates half the world. Please stay in this country and never travel anywhere else because you obviously can't fathom that their are other cultures out there that do stuff differently.
  24. Joined last night and I'm the Fighting Cardinals.
  25. Another one I just thought of is longevity. Baseball players can last a lot longer than the other sports players. This makes for the argument of people who played forever and thus are high on cumulative lists but per season aren't that great.
