  1. because I don't care about it. fixed
  2. I put you into the war room with jame.gumb - let me know if you want something else (or want out). Sounds good as long as jame agrees with all my picks ;)
  3. Sorry missed that I'll be a second on the 49ers.
  4. If a guy has a stupid errors but makes up for it with great throws then overall he breaks even.
  5. Just the lighting. This is pretty damn funny to me though. And what is with Marquis locker? It has like 20 shirts/jerseys in it.
  6. i didn't know you got a banner/trophy and cut down the nets for having the best conference record. i guess it's somewhat of an accomplishment, but in the grand scheme of things, a regular season conference championship and 50 cents will get you a phone call. as opposed to what? winning the Big Ten tourney? if you win the regular season title of a major conference you're going to be a top seed in the ncaa tournament anyway... or are you saying only winning the ncaa tournament matters? this isn't like pro sports where there is one winner out of 30 or so teams. i guess my point is that, when the conference has an end-of-season tourney, nobody really remembers who won the regular season. alabama had the best regular-season record in SEC football this year, but if you ask someone who won the SEC in football, i don't think anyone except for alabama fans would answer anything other than "florida" You must not follow basketball too much. Its the exact opposite. After the season no one talks about who won the conference tournaments. They talk about who won the conference regular season title. Unless its the two seed that wins the tournament its the regular season champ who has the highest bid in the NCAA Tournament. Unlike football there is a playoffs for the teams who are really good and won their conference regular season but just had a bad game in their conference tourny. And I'm not trying to be mean but how do you not know the regular season champ gets a trophy and cuts down the net?
  7. Hightower yelled at him first but that was pretty funny. As far as the game for the first half I couldn't be happier. Purdue has played phenomenal defense and has done a good job staying patient on offense. They win this game and they are back in the thick of things. They lose and they essentially have to win out to have a shot.
  8. Well I would take my team but somehow there is another 49ers fan. I can't see myself drafting another team.
  9. I didn't even bother checking the score until now. I just assumed MSU would win big. Really helps Purdue.
  10. Dang it. I was hoping for some kind words so I don't have to face the facts that Purdue didn't just shoot themselves in the foot the first two games they took a bazooka to it. I will say though if we finish with a similar record to last year we will have a higher seed than in 2007-08. We have a slightly stronger schedule this year and not having the bad losses tends to help a lot in the selection process. Hey we still could win a few of those games and finish 25-6 or something with 1-1 in the Big Ten Tourney. I'm thinking will get a 4-6seed though I think we will finish 24-7 with losses @MSU, @Minn and then one of @Mich, @OSU. We would be 13-5 and finish 2nd or 3rd.

  12. I want some non-Purdue fan, not biased opinions. Say Purdue loses four more conference games to finish 23-8, 12-6 and the four loses are from the @Minn, @Wis, @MSU, MSU, @Illinois, @OSU or @Mich games what ... what seed would project them to get heading into the conference tournaments. Obviously you don't know what anyone else did but on the average year what seed? I have a hard time not seeing that as a 3 or 4 seed, with the four most likely. That gives them 5-6 top 100 RPI wins and zero RPI 101+ losses. So they would have quite a few good wins and no bad losses. I would say heading into the conference tournament they would be a four seed as long as they don't get upset first game and 3 seed if they win it.
  13. I noticed earlier this week but I've been out of town so I didn't get it posted. I'm a bit surprised Purdue is #1 in effective FG% defense. I figured they could be at the top this season but with Kramer and Hummel missing at times I expected to be just in the top 10.
  14. I find this post hilarious. Your avatar is a huge smiley face getting enjoyment out of your crying face in the post. Just looks weird.
  15. you really have no way of knowing that whatsoever Judging from how he had knee injuries in the couple years leading up to his explosion I think it's a safe assumption.
  16. This thread was taken over by Illinois fans with the same four posts repeated over and over again.
  17. Yeah, it's a lot more based on the efficiency of teams, instead of what they've accomplished (W-L), which is a lot more like how the committee actually seeds teams (although, it's amazing how often Pomeroy's ratings actually gets teams right, and calls "upsets" appropriately). I might do one later on Sagarin's ELO ratings, which are much more representative of what a team has accomplished to this point, and not at all representative of how well a team is actually playing, to see which looks more reasonable. I'll take Davidson in the first round considering what happened the first go around.
  18. Ah, Valentine. He was the one that called a blocking foul on Colin Falls on a key possession against Winthrop in the 2007 tourney when ND's offense was already past halfcourt on the other end. Memories... I've been complaining about him since I was 9-10 years old. I can still remember my grandpa telling me, "Now watch this ref. He's awful and is going to make a bunch of sh**y calls." He did a Ball State game last year and during the pregame I told the PBP guy to watch him because at some point he will make a series of bad calls. Valentine like always came through.
  19. He has a decent chance of being a first-day pick this year, especially with his strong and accurate arm. Next year's QB class looks to be much better. He stands to make more money leaving now, even with his underwhelming last two games as a collegian. And of course, you never know what could happen a year from now, but right now there are a lot of teams that look to have open starting positions for 2009 and Davis has a good shot of playing early. I would say he has a much higher chance than decent now that Bradford is staying. That makes him the third highest rated QB by Scouts Inc. and most other draft sites/experts. Him, Sanchez, Stafford and Freeman are really the only ones who are considered possible franchise QB's and with all the teams needing one I can't see how all four aren't drafted in the first two rounds.
  20. If the Cardinals signed him I would be worried. Any predictions for when Buehrle and him first get into it.
  21. he'll say go Pro. they interviewed him before the Rose Bowl and he more or less said that he encourages his kids to go pro if their draft stock is high. yeah and this is the perfect time for him to go. it's a weak qb class and he probably projects to be the #2 qb selected, behind stafford. next year he'd be picked behind mccoy, bradford, and possibly a couple other guys. Really? I would think he'd be a better pro than both of those guys. i guess you might think that, but consensus around the league does not agree with you. I (although I have no voice in the league what-so-ever) would tend to agree with jersey here. Mccoy over Sanchez? no way. i guess i would pick mccoy over sanchez, but i've never had the boner for the rocket arm that nfl teams have. bradford is ahead of sanchez everywhere i've seen mock drafts, though. I hold a grudge against all gimmicky spread offense type QB's though. The Big 12 QBs all had the benefit of playing horrible defenses. I agree I think Stafford probably played against the best defenses compared with Bradford, Mccoy, and Sanchez. The only thing the makes me think twice is Stafford had the least gaudy numbers Well you answered why he had the least gaudy numbers in your own post.
  22. If Leinart came out as a junior there was a 90% chance he would have been taken #1 by the 49ers. They loved him, he was a California prospect, and I remember the GM saying they think Leinart was the best QB in the draft (pre-Combine though).
  23. man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock. What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness. Well they won the NC with what they ran this year so I wouldn't change anything. And I can't see Meyer leaving for Notre Dame. At this point Florida is the better program and has more prestige.
