  1. Is it a 12 or 24 hour limit? We've hit 12 hours.
  2. Depends on if you factor in position or not. If so then I agree with the list. If not then I put Pujols right with Hanley in terms of overall production of stats.
  3. I like that analogy. On this topic I'm a bit on the fence. It is a very minor mistake that isn't even news except this is IU. IU punished themselves but only sort of. I think the NCAA should say they are happy IU punished themselves but a random week in December after the signing period isn't enough. The NCAA should take away the phone privileges for a week during signing period.
  4. I did my research ahead of time and knew I would take either Arod or Pujols with the latter being first choice. This protected me from making a stupid drunk pick as I went with my roommate last night to the bars. I'm not happy to have a reason to root for Pujols (first time I've ever had him on a team) but I'm happy I got the best hitter and I'm not just talking about the available ones.
  5. I have no choice but to select enemy number one Albert Pujols. May the pigs fly :pig: and someone set me on fire :flame:
  6. Awesome awesome. I take it we use the FA list on CBS to determine who is available for draft? Make your pick already so I can make mine dang it :-))
  7. I think he'll drop, but his talent will keep him in the top 10. He's awesome. Actually, I always felt he was overrated by being mentioned as a top 5 pick. I think he's one of the top tackles in the class - talent wise. I don't really have a problem with him projected in the top 5. Like Truffle's saying, that attitude could really hurt him, though. He could still go at the top if he has a good pro day and smoothes things over with a team at the top (only takes convincing one team). However if he doesn't help anything at his pro day then I could see Oher going ahead of him and SMith going in the middle of round 1. That's a possibility - and it'd be a steal if he gets his attitude right. Pretty big if though.

  9. AP jobs aren't really all that great or prestigious. I know they aren't but someone with that writing talent wouldn't get a job at Podunk Paper let alone the AP.
  10. Points? Can you explain what exactly there purpose is. I haven't seen it explained.
  11. Existing teams get to keep 4. Our rosters will hold 8. ONce everyone's rosters are set, you will get to keep 8 at all times. So you have to drop minor leaguers at the end of the year? Why not just get to keep all 8? because half the league is new owners who have no minor leaguers to keep
  12. How does the writer of that get a job with the AP?
  13. If they have admitted to years of use or tested positive multiple times then they should be taken out. I will never support the stance that it was allowed to happen by Selig so they shouldn't be punished. BS records are what they are because fans care about them. If someone is a known cheater then he should be wiped clean. I can support wiping out just the years they have a positive test in or admission to but can't support sitting and allowing everything to stay. In all actuallity I think a good rule would be for here on out: If you have a positive test your stats for that season are erased and you are ineligible for any awards that season. In order to do that though we would have to have league wide testing like Ortiz mentioned a couple weeks ago. I've never seen what the ordeal is with that anyways. If I was a clean player I would be OK with league wide testing so people can't cheat and hope they don't get tested.
  14. The Top 40 players will be off the board? Have you even bothered to look at the rosters of owners who have stayed in the league? Carlos Beltran, ARod, Pujols, and reigning AL MVP Dustin Pedroia are just a few names on the list of available players. Tim Lincecum, Ervin Santana, and John Lackey are all pitchers who will be. If one owner does not respond by the deadline, Joe Mauer, RYan Howard, Chase Utley, Carlos Zambrano, and Roy Halladay will also be added into the mix. Trust me, bum, there will be plenty out there. You will see. Glad you're in the forum, btw! (And responding to your post in another thread, we're keeping 4 minor leaguers, but there will be a boatload of god ones available. You'll see.) Ah didn't know there were teams that weren't kept. Still getting up to speed at this point.
  15. It has been generated by CBS, but until everyone has joined (still awaiting 2 owners) and paid, it's not finalized. You should know by Friday of this week. Have you voted on fees and payout yet? Once that poll is closed, everyone can pay. Until it has closed, there is no way to know how much it will cost. Yeah I was the second one to vote.
  16. Also when can we find out about draft order?
  17. I vote two divisions, however is there anyway for the two wildcards be best record regardless of division? If so that's my vote because if the top three teams are in one division then they all get to go so it limits the possibility of someone being screwed. I vote 2 minor leaguers. The reason being new owners will be at a disadvantage due to keepers already allowing for less minor keepers gives newbies a chance of getting stars of the future and makeup for that disadvantage. Oh and I will be paying with paypal. Hosak just let me know your account.
  18. Well I hadn't read yet how many keepers you guys get. Not too pleased that it is five to be honest. That means the top 40 players will be off the board putting the new managers at a huge disadvantage. I did this type of thing once in football (three keepers for 8 teams, two new teams made picks in round 1-3) and the new teams finished last and second to last. Oh well I'm in for the long term so I guess playing one year are a disadvantage is the price to get in. Still a chance to win if I draft really well and get lucky with breakouts and injuries. Should be fun and I might learn stuff about minor leaguers.
  19. Moore with 18 and Johnson with 8 pts 8 rebs 5 blks at halftime are the only reasons Purdue is up right now.
  20. Ok relooking at it I see why everyone thought it was so random. I skimmed the article and totally thought it said the ESPN Zone in Chicago was starting its own website that would cover just Chicago sports.
  21. I don't think you understand. No i get it. They are starting a website. I was just pointing out that the Chicago location has my ring.
  22. Well dang the three I wanted went. Oh well I took #1. I still have never gotten a baseball so even though he was never good I take an autographed baseball. The batting helmet seems very cool as well and I look forward to finding out how bad of shape it is really in.
  23. I was there over the summer. On my way to the bathroom I saw the No. 1 piece of sports memorabilia that I want. In the hallway before the mens bathroom is a case of Superbowl rings. They have Steve Young's from the 1995 Superbowl. I stared at for 5 minutes thinking about how I could get it without anyone noticing.
  24. Yep, they're done. I think the committee will consider the fact that Curry did not play that game, and should he be healthy when the tournament goes around, that loss would not mean anything. But can they really just wipe out an entire loss when it's by 18 at home to a bad team? They can win out and grab an at large level seed, but with another loss to a bad team(conference tourney), they're toast. I would assume Curry will come back for conference tourny. If so they get auto bid.
  25. Don't like the word they used but they won so I think they can chant what they want.
