Assuming JJ comes back and considering Purdue was preseason 10/11 this year I'm thinking Purdue will likely be preseason top 5 next year. All five starters for the second straight year, 6 of our 8 main rotation guys and the top six minute earners all come back.

BTW the announcer refusing to say Elite Eight during the game was annoying. He said Final Eight three times including in the out to the studio after the game and one other (Great Eight I think it was but not 100% sure).

My understanding is that most languages have the "proper" way to say things, but that generally is not the simplest way to say it. So, they find easier ways to say things even if they're not truly "proper" by the book. My brother lived in Argentina for 8 months after high school and they called Mexican spanish what would translate to sissy spanish because everything was slang. I guess Argentina and Spain speak Spanish by the book and Central America uses a lot of slang. It's like the difference between the U.S. and England is what my brother compared it to.

Anyone who says they got exactly what they wanted out of a 16 team draft is lying. No one got exactly what they wanted but they got as good as they feel the could get for the most part and realize it is not likely for any team to accept a trade that will make you better.

I'm surprised there have been trades. Normally there aren't any because everyone just drafted their team and is content.

I mentioned in the CBB thread a couple months ago that he was playing well enough to perhaps go pro early. I just can't see it though. He still needs to pack on 10-15 pounds. If he goes this year after beating UCONN he is could be at the highest a 15-25 pick. If he stays another year and again makes first team Big Ten and is 10-15 pounds heavier he could go 10-15 with his blocking and shooting ability.

Funny I still have my elite 8 team alive from that part of the bracket. I hope Hasheem Thabeet breaks one of your players' faces. Wouldn't be the first time this season one of our players got their face broken. I'm am very interested in how Purdue will play Thabeet. Part of me thinks they will have Johnson play out of the paint more sense he can hit the jumper and that frees up the paint for Hummel and slashing guards. However, I could also see Purdue having Johnson slash into the paint and come off of a lot of pick and rolls. It would be a mistake to have him try to fight in the paint with Thabeet. He won't be able to just simply jump above Thabeet for the short jumper like he does most games.

I'm satisfied with how the Big Ten has fared. Purdue in the sweet sixteen, MSU most likely in too, Michigan upsets in first round and stays with UNC, Wisconsin wins as a 12 seed, Minnesota almost upsets Texas. The only two teams not to do as well as expected was Ohio State and Illinois. However, Ohio State lost in double OT and Illinois lost to an under seeded team plus played without Frazier. Oh and JaJuan Johnson is a BEAST!

Disagree. This is a great scoring system. It doesn't take any skill to go chalk by picking all the favorites. It takes guts to pick 5s over 12s like Western Kentucky, Arizona and Wisconsin and props to those that picked Cleveland State. You didn't pick any upsets and you were penalized for it. It's a simple as that. i don't care that i'm doing bad. i'd be doing bad with either scoring system, its irrelevant to my point. the simplest and best scoring system is to reward people who pick the most correct games. this scoring system doesn't do that. i don't care about who has "guts" or some other nonsense, it should be who picks the winners correctly regardless if its an upset or not. Those pools tend to be boring with the majority of the participants picking the lower seeds. Most brackets look relatively the same. It's a lot harder to pick upsets and those that do should be rewarded. You are rewarded. You get the point/s for the correct pick and everyone else doesn't.

SSR might actually get me to the point that I will root against Illinois in future NCAA Tourny's. Oh and Illinois without Frazier may just be a worse team that WKU. Illinois healthy obviously is the better team but without Frazier its very close.

If you are going to pick a Big Ten team to do well don't pick the one that just lost a starter.

This bonus points thing is very stupid. Your bonus for picking an upset is that you got points for the winning team that most of the others didn't. People are getting double, triple ... etc. points. Someone who picks a low percentage of the games can easily win this over someone who picked a good percentage if they get all the upsets. For instance if I only got the three upsets right so far I would have 10 points meaning I could be tied with someone who had picked 10 of the 14 right.

You won't watch the rest of the games? I won't. Well maybe to watch KU lose. Why the heck not? I mean its fine to not be a college basketball fan, not everyone is, but for how much you guys post I would figure you are. I'll be honest I think its lame to watch only the games your team is in and completely tune out everything else in that league whether it be MLB, NFL or whatever. Not sure that is the case here though.
