  1. im so sick of the cards doing what is needed to be done to make a run deep into the playoffs while the cubs trade and get rid of most of a team that won 97 games the year before
  2. Eric cooper must really love him since he has been behind the plate for both of buehrle's gems
  3. Not really. Fox has options. Bradley doesn't. Not to mention the paycheck differences. Like it or not, that all plays a role. i dont think he was saying Bradley should be sent down, just saying fox deserved to stay up
  4. They arent going to throw Zambrano on short rest in early july, esp considering that they will have had 1 day off since mid june and that being this thursday
  5. say what you want, 16 RBI's is completely unacceptable
  6. tell me a better option, Fontenot? im not going to look up stats but id rather have someone who is getting hits but is a poor fielder than a guy who is a ok fielder but cant manage to hit anything
  7. little brother syndrome, instead of going on his own merits, he always feels the need to compare what he does to the older brother and lessen what he does to make himself feel better about himself
  8. after sitting in the stands at the craphole cell on Friday, i can say white sox fans are just as dumb seriously after fox hit that home run, they all started the, cubs fans are fa ots, cubs fans suck d ck etc.
  9. Great attitude: http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2009/6/2/896058/lucky-home-runs-through-the-first thats really stupid, seriously for all the "lucky home runs" derosa hit, i wonder how many "unlucky pop outs" there were that would have gone out in neutral conditions, esp at Wrigley Field with the wind blowing in the first 2 1/2 months of the seaons and most of September.
  10. Rogers is a dope, he thinks he knows baseball but all he does it take information form the big names like from fox or espn and uses it as his own. Seriously though you really lose all credibility when you suggest just giving away a player like Zambrano
  11. Give credit for him signing Derosa? Well, perhaps if he were: A: Still a Cub B: Wasn't traded for marginal prospects C: Not playing for the Cardinals DeRosa is not a good example. When DeRosa was signed he was considered a risk considering he really never played everyday for a full year. DeRosa went on to have a pretty decent season and then a career year for the Cubs and played a big role in both divison titles. They sold high on a 34 year old Middle Infielder, something you rarley can do. DeRosa OPS'd .857 last year. There was no way he was going to do that again. DeRosa also got helped out by leading the league in "lucky" home runs last year with 8. Look DeRosa is a good player, however he is not a superstar. He is below avg. defensivly basically everywhere you up put him. The biggest reason why the Cubs are struggling this year IMO is your bullpen and the loss of A-Ram. To blame this all on Hendry just seems like a scape goat. The fact is they have a bunch of players underachiving... Soriano, Bradley, Marmol, Harden, Gregg and Soto just to name a few. And then take out the Cubs best player (Aramis) and you end up being 2 games under .500. But lucky for the Cubs (and brewers) its the NL Central. You still have a really good starting rotation. And for how bad and under achving the cubs have been they are still only 3.5 games back. please explain to me what a lucky home run is, it sounds so moronic that maybe im just to smart to understand
  12. I personally wonder if Lou did not want Bradley but Hendry didnt listen to him and got rid of Derosa who lou loved and now he is taking his anger out on bradley.
  13. I love how all the people worried about Fox's defense yet its not like we have gold gloves at every other position with the exception of 1st. Sure he wont be good but its not like Soriano and Bradley are good.
  14. You really had to write that all down when you could just watch a game and figure that out?
  15. like it has been said before Zambrano is nowhere near as bad as K-rod, if he was a starter he would have been beaned a few times by now, him and valverde.
  16. its pretty bad, i love it though. If you plan on watching this service though, i doubt it would last an entire game on a full charge.
  17. Personally i see either Wells and or Marshall along with a couple of other top prospects going to the A's for Holliday. I wouldnt be shocked if Soriano is then moved to 2nd, we know they have thought about it and personally i dont think it was so either Hoff or Fox could play.
  18. Marmol looks like the marmol of last year with his windup and how he ends it
  19. i think La Russa is better. Cox in my opinion should have won a lot more with those teams in the 90's. Sure its impressive to have won how many east titles in a row but to only win 1 world series out of it.
  20. I think both parties are to blame on the WGN sticking point. Granted, after Ricketts takes control of the team, Tribune shouldn't expect a sweetheart deal for it's TV station to broadcast the games. On the other hand, Ricketts should realize that WGN and the Cubs are attached at the hip in the minds of the fans, and that losing WGN as a broadcast partner would be very detrimental to the fanbase. WGN ceasing to broadcast the Cubs would potentially cost Ricketts far more than the $50 million he's arguing over. sure it could cost him some money but in the end WGN has been losing games year after year. WGN losing the radio call would be huge though, that is where the following is now, not the tv since most are on CSN anyway.
  21. its not all that shocking in my opinion, all you have to do is watch a game and see man after man after man left in scoring position
  22. His delivery is different this year. the first video is from the all star game last year, the other from the marlins series earlier this year. It looks more controlled, less herky jerky this year and that might be why he is getting fewer strike outs, batters are able to lay off the pitches http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=3143352 http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=4366553
  23. I wouldnt be surprised at all if we say goodbye to Wells and a couple of others for him and catching fire The man has a .278 avg-.369 obp and a .813 OPS. id take that over Bradley :P
  24. Wouldnt he have to clear waivers and agree to be sent down?
