  1. ill always remember when he came in after Z gave up 6 runs and left with the bases juiced and no outs and struck out the side.
  2. I don't get why the bullpen should be improved. It's a bullpen, filled with relievers, the most unreliable players in the game. And they haven't added an ace reliever. So there's no "should" about it. Maybe its the 22 home runs they both gave up. Gregg gave up more home runs than Zambrano (yes Z is hard to homer against but still Zambrano pitched 100 more innings last year) Or look at it this way Those 2 gave up the same amount of home runs as Guzman 8, Grabow 1, Marshall 10, Marmol 2, Maybe it was the 13 blown saves between them (rest of the team had 5) The 64 BB's Heilman was complete garbage last year no matter what anyone tries to make you think. He was good with none on but as soon as a runner got on, his ERA shot up nearly 3 runs, even higher with RISP and downright horrible with RISP and 2 out... Gregg, if you ignore the 9 homeruns he gave up with no one on was decent. Then as soon as a runner gets on base, his ERA rises nearly 6 runs and then up to a 22.00 era with RISP with 2 out. Heilman entered games with a total of 37 runners on base, 17 of those runners scored...
  3. in 2009 The A's were supposed to win the AL west last year with 82 wins The Phillies were 3rd in the NL east Had texas winning 73 Cubs had 96 wins They are hit and miss, If baseball was this easy to predict, no one would watch. I think the average miss for 2008 was 9 games or something
  4. Some notable players who have had Tommy John Matt Holliday Rocco Baldelli Carlos Quentin Luis Gonzales Paul Molitor
  5. I do not see Vitters going anywhere unless we get a huge name in return and or he is a bust

  7. Im not really sold on Baker and i wish they would have just gotten rid of Fontenot. Hudson would be a upgrade at 2nd base
  8. from what ive heard, the players would now be parking underneath
  9. other than the on field 5950's, 99 percent of the other New Era products are really awful ghetto targeted trash examples http://www.lids.com/pid/20145481 http://www.lids.com/pid/20145303 http://www.lids.com/pid/20142094 http://www.lids.com/pid/20140323 http://www.lids.com/pid/20138380 http://www.lids.com/pid/20131703
  10. Probably an SRT-10. If you're going to spend $50k on a car... why would it be a pickup? the SRT-10 has not been made for a few years now. most top end truck cost around 50k now
  11. per MLB hot stove i didnt see it anywhere so if i missed it, sorry
  12. MLB Network just said he is hitting 90 on the gun.
  13. Cancesco used for so long that his body no longer makes testosterone if i just heard correctly. he has to get a shot every 2 weeks or something. He pretty much just came out and said his balls are the size of marbles
  14. That was my first thought. Now if they can just fix that stupid super-short left field in that idiotic ballpark. I hate houston and that ball park, especially that stupid hill in center field
  15. Does anyone have this song from the 80's? The Beach Boys i guess remade barbara ann and made a Cubs version? search is not working for me otherwise i would look first.
  16. i have no patience to stand in line for a 10 second autograph when ive had a 10 minute conversation with Ernie Banks where i work, (also met Sandberg, Derosa, Thome, Butkus, Urlacher, among many others
  17. The already shattered hearts of Expos fans. all 20 of them?
  18. Wasted talent going to a manager who will destory his arm
  19. I dont think its a good idea. I dont see the owners really going along with this because they are paying countless millions to field a team that wins a MLB world series, not against a foreign team. I could see it quickly dying off if a huge name goes down and costs him the next or part of the next MLB season. There also goes into the question of conditioning esp for pitchers, you have pitchers who have already pitched 220 innings (give or take) and now you are going to add on how many more innings that they are not used ? Thats just begging for arm injuries...
  20. Do you mean Cincinnati? or Mazeroski
  21. that article has Holliday going to the cards along with tejada. That would make them pretty good on offense.... Anyway, i would also offer Sheets a incentive laden contract. We know how good he can be and its not much a risk for the possible reward. The Cubs did take chances on Dempster and Harden.

  23. Maybe. I think he's still behind, as Holliday has had one or two standout seasons to go along with his steadily good overall performance, while Ramirez is about as consistently very good but not elite as you can get. Holliday played in colorado enough said
  24. i dont see why everyone thinks Aram will opt out, everything i've heard makes it sound like he loves Chicago and wants to finish his career here. Sure he might opt out and resign for more money but i dont think he will be going anywhere
