  1. Or a more likely scenerio of the Bulls stealing game 3, Hawks tie the series back up, and the Cubs well.....remain the Cubs. I think this will be a decent day for Chicago sports.
  2. Read more: http://football.realgm.com/src_twelfthwriter/61/20100420/25_fearless_draft_predictions/#ixzz0ln6nKAR7 Give away the farm for Eric Berry. But has Jerry done that the last couple of years, or just for Cutler? Problem is.....to get Eric Berry you have to trade up into the top 6. Even with the value chart being outdated, can the Bears do this? Would a 3rd this yr, and a 1st/3rd in 2011 be enough to convince a team like Seattle to trade out of the spot? Because other then that, I don't see the Bears having enouogh to move up to get someone like Berry.
  3. So you wish to base the decision on 4 starts rather than 7 years of data suggesting he's the worst option to be moved to the pen. I know you went on to talk about how the move is temporary, but honestly any decision to move your most talented starter to the pen is a bad discussion. But allowing Harris anywhere NEAR the lineup, regardless of spot, imo is a far worse move. In fact, I can count at least 10 moves the Cubs have made (and this is sad that I can do it) that are worse then Z going to the pen.
  4. With Ellis, Maggette and Curry, I can see why Morrow could become a FA, but I keep seeing people over on Realgm having wetdreams about this kid but I don't have a clue who he is or why should he be targeted?
  5. Kareem Jackson is definately a better CB prospect then Arenas. I love both, but I think Javy gets slightly overrated because ESPN showcases the plays he makes. The coaching staff have constantly said the last couple of years that KJ was Bama's best CB. Javy isn't rated higher because he ran a very mediocre 4.68/40 at the combine. Combined that with decent cover skills, average athlethicism, and ok hip rotation (hip rotation is very important when you are a DB) and you will see why Arenas is projected in the 3rd-5th rd. KJ is the complete opposite. Arenas is more quick then fast, and IMO, he's prolly a nickleback in the pros.
  6. Am I the only one who isn't bothered by this development? Do I agree with the move? No. Besides batting Lenny Harris leadoff is a FAR worse move then moving Zambrano to the pen. I seriously doubt this experimentation will last more then a week.
  7. ESPN did a mock draft with the columnist of every city represent their team. By the end of the first rd there were a couple of first rd talents that were available in the 2nd rd; Kareem Jackson or Alabama, and Demaryius Thomas of GT still available. Would it be worth it to move into the 2nd rd to get one of these kids, or is there a player who could drop out of the 1st rd that anybody here thinks would be worth moving up for? (I realize the Bears would have to trade Olsen and dip into next year's draft picks to make it happen.)
  8. Not the first time Big Ben been accuse of rape, either. 6 games is fair for the SOB. But the worst punishment Pittsburgh and the NFL can give Big Ben is too allow the Steelers to trade him to Oakland. Now THAT'S hard time.
  9. To add on to this point, the teams that have already concede the season, ala KC, that all willing to trade pretty much have nobody that can help the Cubs. So trading now is pretty much a panic move, one that I hope Hendry refuses to make. Holding pattern is really the best option for Cubs right now.
  10. I could see Oakland being interested. No doubt. McShay also mentioned Buffalo. So, it wouldn't surprise me if Ben is traded before the draft is over.
  11. I read what Kaplan wrote as the Cubs looking at a deal that INCLUDING a pitcher, which leads me to believe that the Cubs are looking at a multi-person trade. I maybe wrong, tho. If's it not that, I have a hard time believe that there is a team out there that is interested in trading right now, unless they get a deal they can't refuse. Right now, this is much ado about nothing.
  12. win, lose, do whatever makes YOU feel happy, Baby Bears. It's not about winning or losing, it's about how you play the game. amirite? yeah, fake optimism sucks, but it's too early to start drinking..
  13. One: I think the Jets will take a step back defensively next year. Two: Not saying the Bears have great recievers, but I really doubt Revis is good enough to cover four recievers on one time, especially when he got the grossly overrated Cromartie on the other side.
  14. We've allowed ourselves into thinking we have a team that can go all the way, but sadly our teams fail the seal the deal. We are better then the friggin Predators, and there is no way they should even be on the same ice as the Hawks, but like most Chicago pro sports teams, not name the White Sox, the Hawks are going to failed on a golden opportunity to bring a championship back to Chicago. This blows. The Hawks needs to do a soul searching, cause if they don't kick the ever living crap out of the Predators in Game 4, then this series is prolly over.
  15. Different day, same crap. Oh well. Here's to the Mets sweeping the Cubs.
  16. At least the Bears will begin the season at home against the Lions.
  17. Shaq/Z is better then Noah and Miller, but not much. Jamison is bettr then Deng, and it's not close. West/Williams are a solid backcourt, but I believe Rose/Hinrich is both better defensively and offensively. Stats wise Hickson and Gibson are the same. Cleveland would have the advantage at C and SF, the Bulls have the backcourt, it's a wash at PF. If Cleveland is better, it is minute. Well, you're right about Jamison. Lebron James less Cavs are not significantly better then the Bulls. That is a myth. Are they better, very slim, but Lebron is the sole reason why people think Cleveland can win.
  18. Shaq/Z is better then Noah and Miller, but not much. Jamison is bettr then Deng, and it's not close. 19. Then we need to arrest Bill Belicek or however you spell his name.
  20. I think he is right. He is pretty damn sexy with that hoodie on. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5114892 MLB can be so uptight. Banning hoodies.....wtf?
  21. I really believe Ricketts has barred Hendry from making a trade, for now. Otherwise I think Hendry would had already acquired a guy like Gregorson or Frasor, for a deal that most on this site would have been throwing a hissy fit upon learning about
  22. I love Deron Williams' game, and he is right now the 2nd best pg in the game, a healthy Chris Paul is first, but even then I wouldn't trade Rose for him. Not because of some homerism towards the Bulls, but because Deron needs good players around for him to work his magic, whereas Rose doesn't need help to work his magic.
  23. No. No one even in Atlanta believes this. This is coming form someone who lives in Atlanta. They know their limits. Maybe the should start believing it. I really like the Hawks as a team, and they have the talent, the depth, and the athleticism to run Cleveland out the stadium. People wants to say Cleveland is that tough, but there not. LBJ makes Cleveland tougher they should be. If Atlanta does what Orlando did last year and basically say "F-Lebron this is our time" then Cleveland will not and cannot beat Atlanta. With that said, I am not naive. Atlanta has to believe that, or unless they are still snake-bitten about what MJ did to some pretty good Hawks teams of the 90s that included Blaylock, Smith, and Mutombo. I still think Orlando will beat Cleveland, because despite acquiring Shaq and Jamison, the Cavs still have nobody who can stop or even slow down Howard.
  24. They'll probably get beat by Orlando again. Orlando and prolly Atlanta can both run Cleveland out the gym.
  25. I do not care anymore. This team does not want to win, we know the GM can't build a winner, and the manager can manage a winner, just not with the Cubs. Not to mention 7/8ths of the lineup is more likely to decline then improve, and we have a payroll that would be the gross national income of several small countries. This team isn't going anywhere. I hate this team.
