I've seen a lot of mock drafts with Seattle taking Stewart. I know I am stretching it, but would New England take a QB on the first of the draft, even tho they still have Brady? Or the Colts with Manning? No. That's more than stretching it. Peyton and Brady are the two best QBs in the game today and two of the best ever. If we were debating whether the Chiefs or Chargers would draft a running back first round, those would be viable comparisons. The better comparison to make in this situation is whether the Buccaneers with three mediocre QBs on their roster would take a QB first round or whether the Ravens with three mediocre QBs would take one. The answer to both of those is maybe (and they probably should, in my opinion) as it is with the Seahawks. Julius Jones, Shaun Alexander (as he is today) and TJ Duckett should not keep you from taking a running back you feel is great. If they see Jonathon Stewart as worthy of the pick, three mediocre tailbacks should not change their minds. That said, they probably have slightly bigger needs and won't certainly go running back. But to rule out the possiblity is premature. I didn't say I rule it out, I just said, it's doubtful they go for a RB in the first rd. People forget that could be Holmgren's last yr in Seattle, so he may put all of his eggs into the basket. I don't see taking a RB (who won't see much of the field, for a majority of the yr) helps the Seahawks or Holmgren out at all. I see them either trading the pick (either up or down) or taking a WR.

I like Jose Reyes, more then Wright.

No doubt it's a big move but it makes sense if Soriano keeps struggling to stay healthy in the OF. Soriano will have $112M and 6 years left on his contract after this season. You absolutely cannot let a player's body break down when you owe him that much money. We could get something pretty good for Lee, so it's not like Lee's production would just disappear if he were traded. DLee's contract runs out after 2010 (his age 34 season). I expect that we let him walk and move Sori to 1B at that point for the remainder of his contract (which runs through 2014). I'm hoping by 2010, the Angels might look to replace Gary Matthews, Jr bat in the OF, and take a chance on Soriano. I doubt it, but who knows.......

No. There are a couple of scenerios' I see Seattle going: 1: With this possible being Seattle's last yr with Holmgren, they may be aggressive in the first rd, and may target one of the biggest OL prospects (Otah/Albert/Clady/Williams) still on the board in the mid 1st rd picks. So they could "feesibly" offer their 1st rd pick (25th), their 2nd rd pick (52nd overall), and a 4th rd pick (121st overall) to either Denver, Carolina, or the Bears (with the Bears adding a 6th rd pick). And the said above deal, works with the Draft Pick Value Chart, seeing as the 3 picks they'd give up would total (1122 points) while the pick they get back could range from (1100-1300). So I could see this scenerio playing out. 2: I see them trading out of the first rd altogether. Trading their 1st and 2nd rd picks (totalling 1070 points) to Atlanta for the Birds for the 34 and 37th picks (1090 points). or 3: I could see the Seahawks taking the best available WR like Thomas or reach just a little bit for a guy like Hardy. Seeing as KC reach for Bowe last yr, I believe, it wouldn't surprise me.

10-12 wins with that schedule, imo.

And I don't expect Detroit's pitching to be this bad all yr. I expect DD to make a move to make the pitching better. When the offense get going, Detroit will be a VERY hard team to stop. The Sox are a "Decent" team, but the Tigers can be more then decent.

Tampa Bay wouldn't do that, unless the Cubs added a guy like Marshall or Gallagher along with Murton. But if the Cubs are interested in a guy like Brignac, then it would make some sense.

Yeah, maybe so, but I doubt Holmgren will go with a ROOKIE RB, in perhaps his final season as Seattle HC. He won't go with a rookie RB, when he's already spent a decent amount of money on two RBs, already this offseason. You can check RB off Seattle's list of needs for the Draft.

1.) The Carlos Lee for Scott Podsednik trade did not help the White Sox. 2.) The White Sox are no more real than the A's or the Orioles right now. They look good, but the Tigers will come back, the Indians will be good. 13-14 games is not a good sample size. Agreed. Once the Tigers get going, they will fly the White Sox in no time. They still have less starting pitching then the Cubs, and they still emply Juan Uribe, Joe Crede, and AJ Alphabet in the lineup. The White Sox are still a 75-80 win team.

Rosenthal's latest. Not that I condone trading Murton (especially for cheap), but I wonder what is the asking price the Cubs telling clubs who are interested in Murton?

Corey is a career: .256/.301/.425/.726 at Wrigley. So he might impact the series with his power. He won't get on, but he could "feesibly" hit a couple of dingers, in between his strikeouts, and beat the Cubs that way.

Or, instead of playing those games on the field, have both teams send a representative to home plate, and just them play a 3 game series on MLB; The Show. Under that scenerio, THEY MIGHT win....

They seem to always beat us when they suck too I'm sorry to post this, but you are correct. Since 2002, the Cubs record against the Phillies is 13-26. And in that time, the Cubs were NOT swept t all, but they only won one series (2nd half of 2004) and split one series (wnd half of 2007). So, yes the Cubs are definately beyond pathetic against Philly.
