Even tho, I doubt the Cubs could have match the Mets offer, I do believe the Twins did a disservice to Johan and to their organization, by not considering what the Cubs could have, would have offered for Johan. I know, Johan had wanted to be on the East Coast, but I doubt he would have turned down the opportunity to pitch in the 2nd (or 3rd biggest market) in baseball, especially knowing he would be teaming up with Carlos Zambrano. If that would have happen, then all the Cubs would have asked for from Lilly/Hill/Dempster/Marquis (whoever made the rotation) to pitch league average at their spot of the rotation. It played out, like it did, and the Cubs could realistically still have enough bullets, to land a pitcher at the deadline (Blanton or Burnett).
