27 recruits. When your rankings are comprised solely of total number of points, you can rank high even if you have almost exclusively 3 stars. Also how teams like S Carolina and UNC are top 10 or close. 29 commits. Do they even have enough room for all those players (Alabama signed more than they could take last year, as I recall). Alabama signed about 32 kids last yr. Two went the baseball route (Hood and Ray) at least two went JUCO (Brandon Lewis and Devonta Bolton), one could not meet the academic standards at Alabama last yr(Murphy, he finally met the academic standard this yr and is currently enrolled at the university). Two other players went the grey-shirt route (Jermaine Preyear is one, and right now I can't think of the other). So all in all Alabama did sign 32 in last yr class, but only 25 make it to campus.

Nah, I'm just faster and better. Yeah, you try getting down three flights of stairs with 100 other students at lunch....... :D Considering I'm about 280 pounds, that wouldn't work well. I managed it through 5 years of college though. :D Didn't Marlon go to GA per rumor? Cause if he did, man what a WR combo GA has in Green/Brown. Rumors I'm hearing (per the Knoxville News Sentinel) are that he's going to sign with Ohio State. That's a shocker because I was hearing it was down to UT or UGA for him. Where did tOSU come from? Maybe Tressel will allow Marlon to play basketball? To me that was the rumor surrounding Marlon is that he was looking for a school that would allow him basketball along with football. Have you heard that, dew? Otherwise that would be a heckuva QB/WR threat of Pryor and Brown, provided Pryor improves his mechanics.

Sorry but dew beat me to it, because I was in class. Dew, you guys are having a really good day with Myles ( :( ) and Teague going your way. Congrats on those two young men. Great players, and if Gordon qualifies academically..........you guy will be a nice team net yr, provided you coach can you know....coach.

08-09' Blackhawks (46-24-12) 104 PTS - 4th Seed In The West!

I wonder if being cheap shot as often as Kane does and very few people stick up for him tells us what we should know about what Hawks teammates actually think about with Kane? Same goes for Brian Campbell. Agree. On that one Wiz hit---can't think of the Oiler name but he was crushed in open ice---I swear Wiz hit him so hard he had to go back to the locker room and change his pants. Otherwise, the Hawks wanted this game and they took from the Oilers. Very good win. -
I got call out and I defended myself against stupid and ignorant misconcpetions of Alabama fans. And to keep the peace I put stuy on my ignore list so this doesn't go epic. I am more the willing to talk college football recruiting, and I try to keep my post clear of Bama slant, and give my opinion of what could (not will or should, but could) happen. If other people will leave the bickering about my team OUT OF IT I wouldn't have to defend my team.
-
I never said he was an inferior player if he doesn't go to Bama. (or any players for that matter) So lay off, SSR with your misconceptions. It's obvious Nick Saban wants Reid (Reid is a DB, CNS is a DB coach by trade....is that simple enough, SSR).
-
Stuy, are you trying to get me banned, cause you damn well are trying to start something you can't finished. First: I'm not old enough to remember CPB coaching Alabama. Bear retired in 1982 and died in 1983, I was born in 1981. Sorry as great of a coach he was, I don't remember him coaching. Plain and simple. So what that Bama fans still love Bear Bryant? He is without a doubt the greatest coach in college football history, wouldn't you be proud? All college fans are delusionals, not just Bama. Second: I am not delusional anymore then you are an uninformed (and after I read your post, I get the feeling you don't like to read and comprehend). My world does center around Alabama football, cause I am an Alabama fan. And you college football world centers around FSU, so lay off the Michael Phelps. And NO I don't think the college football universe revolves around Bama and CPB, that is simply ignorance on your part. And if you look at the coaches Alabama has had since CPB, you can see why Bama fans still revered the G.O.A.T of college football coaching. Third: If you READ MY POST, and apparently you didn't, I will say it again, Alabama got in on Greg Reid late and it is remarkable how much ground Alabama picked up of FSU and GA for Reid. But I also said I didn't think Reid would end up at Alabama. And that's true, cause I believe he's GA bound. So no, I am not going to take your bet, because I am not at all confident Alabama will land Reid (we'll find out about Reid tomorrow night as he has schedule a announcement at around 6-8p.m). As for your bet, shove the bet up your...................fill in the blank. Maybe you feel definant after Alabama took Ed Stinson away from your team, but save your crap for the toilet. You know, how about I change the terms of the bet: Reid goes to GA or FSU you put me on your ignore list. If Alabama lands Reid, you're going on my ignore list. Wait a minute, I don't need that bet, you are definately going on my ignore list after this post. And I would recommend you to put me on your ignore list, cause I definately don't want to waste my time on you. In the words of Fez, "I said Good day."

Should the refs take their time and look at that play carefully before making it offical? Yeah. But let's not forget two important factors: 1: What a throw and catch by Big Ben and Holmes. Not as good as Manning/Tyree, but a helluva play. 2: For all their effort to come back and take the lead, the Cards couldn't "man up" when they needed to and make a key stop. ----- With that said, the Bears need to be studying how the Steelers are doing what they are doing. Cause as a Bear fan, it is embarrassing that one of the true great franchise in the sport and they have only one super bowl victory and two sb appearances. This franchise needs to be up there with the Cowboys/49ers/ and Steelers.

Dude, that was a jab at me, and I gave it back. Truff, nows these "recruiting rumors" about the SEC he likes to throw out isn't limited to my conference. Those rumors are rampant through all the major conferences. That was Truff subtle jab at me. Beside it does suck when the NCAA Title is on the line.

i love the recruiting battles in the Big 10. it's always exciting to hear what prospects grandfathers played for Joe Paterno. And what jobs were promised by Tressel to his recruits. It's also exciting to hear what promises Rich Rodriguez will make to get prospects to Michigan. I also like the excuses Big Ten teams will make to prospects when they can't beat the SEC. Ahh..........good times.
-
My understanding is this.....Reid's visit to GA was pretty solid, nothing noteworthy. Greg Reid will be a battle between Bama and GA. Right now I would say GA 52% Alabama 48% with FSU all but eliminated.
-
Yeah, he does have that "USC" feel to him. I would like to see him at UCLA, to be honest. The reason I want to see him lay some heavy hits on some USC players.

Very few Bama people---including myself---believe Randle will go anywhere but LSU. Congrats on getting I would say the AJ Greene of this yr's class. With that said Alabama and LSU are having a few battles this past week. Apparently Darrington Sentimore---comiitted to Alabama---took an official to LSU this weeked. LSU is his dream school, but was spurned by LSU for over a yr as LSU chased pipedreams MacFarland and Campbell. He took the official to LSU this weekend, and there is a good chance he could switch. I have my fingers cross because I want to keep Sentimore. Kenny Bell---and LSU commit---was said to be wearing Crimson Tide gear to his high school all week. Which has lead to speculation that Kenny Bell will de-committ from LSU and head to Alabama. Janzen Jackson---and LSU commit---was in Tuscaloosa this weekend. Considering Gerald West de-committed from Bama this week, this was an interesting weekend to say the least. So yeah, Vance, Alabama/LSU is in heated battles for three Louisana players. Jackson I believe will stay LSU---because LSU hired a great DB coach in Cooper which helped. I think Kenny Bell opts for Alabama on NSD. Now the real battle will be Darrington Sentimore. Nick was on Sentimore from the beginning, but LSU is his dream school. Sentimore has himself said he was "confused" as to what he wants to do. This one would hurt Bama if Sentimore switches to LSU---not that anybody would be surprised---because Alabama has no plan B if they miss out on Sentimore, but Bama would be saved for the yr because we do have decent depth at DT. Interesting week to say the least this week.

No way. Keep the faith. I smell a Patrick Kane HAT TRICK tonight. Hawks win this game 5-1. -
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/baseball/archives/160872.asp Sorry Seattle, you want us to give up a cheap LH starter for one of three garbage pitchers? I hate to break it to Seattle but the Cubs already have better versions of those guys already on the team (Heilman/Dempster and Lilly). THE only way I would take any of the three (Silva is not even a chance) on the Cubs would be if the Mariners "tempt the Cubs" with taking Kevin Gregg along with Hill PLUS adding an arm like Aumont, Juan Ramirez, or Michael Pinieda. Seeing as Seattle wouldn't do that, I wouldn't touch Batista/Washburn or Silva at all if I was the Cubs. Seattle would have to be willing to eat a lot of the contract, or give up a top prospect if they want to move one of these scrubs.

I could easily see Manny losing interest quickly if the Giants aren't any good. The Yankees should go get him. Imagine that lineup. Yankees can't sign him. It's not that they won't, they CAN'T sign Manny. Something along the lines of them having already signing 3 Type A/B FA this offseason which is the max any one team can sign. So no, Yankees won't be signing Dunn/Manny/Sheets, etc, etc. Not true. Do to the increased number of FA this year (216) the max amount of Type A and B FA's teams are allowed to sign was increased to 8. The Gaints have signed 5 already... Jeremy Affeldt (B), Bob Howry (A), Randy Johnson (B), Edgar Renteria (A), and Juan Uribe (B) Partially correct, BUT that only applies to players who were offered arbitration. And of those five the Giants signed, I believe Affeldt was the only one who was offered arbitration was Jeremy Affeldt. Which means the Giants owed no draft pick, and the Reds will get a sandwich pick for Affeldt. You can sign as many players who were not offer arb as you want, it those who were offer arb, you have a max you can sign. ttp://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090129&content_id=3784888&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb So the Yankees cannot sign anymore ARB offered players, or they would have sign Manny Ramirez and Ben Sheets a long time ago, if they wanted to.

I heard Brent Hubbs saying he thought Teague had a good shot of coming here (and that it was between us and Bama). I like that a lot. Have you heard anything new on Marlon Brown? Hubbs seemed to think there was a chance we'd get him, but that UGA was still in the running. Not sure if you've heard anything else, but I'd love to get the top two players in Tennessee this year (Eric Gordon and Marlon Brown). I too have heard the battle of Teague is down to UT and Bama. Andrew Bone of TI (I believe) was adament when he said Alabama has and should pull off a "surprise recruit who is committed to another school." Some speculate the "surprise recruit" could be Teague, or it could be Greg Reid, or could be either Barkevarious Mingo, or even Kenny Bell. My guess is....with Ed Stinson committing to Bama today, you can eliminate Mingo. So the "surprise recruit" Bone is talking about could be Teague, Reid, or Bell. My money is Teague, but Bama has made up A LOT of ground on Reid in the last couple of weeks so it wouldn't surprise me it is Reid. Personally I think Bama/Tennessee are going to split in their battles for Myles/Teague. I think Bama gets Myles, and Teague goes UT.

ATP I don't see too many CONTENDERS that need a starter at SS and/or 3rd base. And the teams that possibly do have a spot open are teams not likely to compete any time soon. So Nomar would have to decide if starting for a crappy team is better then being a utility player on a contender. So yes, I would love to bring NOMAH back as a utility player. ----------------------- As for Kevin Millah, the only value he would have would be as a comic. Dempster/Millah on the same team, the Cubs would definately not be an uptight team. With that said, Millah has sucked recent, and the only way I want the Cubs to sign him would be on a minor league contract with an invite.

Its a good thing a certain Bama fan friend of ours isn't an ND fan, because he'd have a very long response to this post. I hope we get this guy but he probably wouldn't be a RB at ND, since Charlie is averse to ever running the ball (but maybe with our crap OL coach replaced it'll be better). Nah man, my days are trying to convey my thoughts about my team in more then a few sentences, if that, are long gone. My answers were be short and to the point. The only thing about ND that I want to see happen is Urban "The Classless Liar" Meyer become the new head coach of that program. so much to love in this post :tease:

Who the heck did you expect the Cubs to get for Rich Hill, Matt Wieters? Someone decent. Not like Henry Williamson, but someone similar to Nate Spears or Mike Fontenot, otherwise trading Hill because he is out of options is a complete FUBAR situation. Can't get someone decent, then see if Hill can make it as a swing man. Can't be worse then Neal Cotts.
