Two questions that I know were asked elsewhere, but didn't remember seeing responses: 1) For anyone who went to Wrigleyville during the NLCS to partake in the atmosphere, was it easy to get around and was there a public feed of the game outside the stadium somewhere where you could watch? Also, how difficult was it to leave? Long lines at the train? Difficult to hail a cab? Uber outrageously expensive? I'm trying to gauge how much time I'll have after the games are over to enjoy myself vs. rushing back to Union Station to catch the late night train to the suburbs 2) If we signed up for the playoff ticket lottery are we also signed up for the world series ticket lottery? Also, should we be lucky enough to win, how much are face value ticket prices for bleachers and/or SRO tickets? -
Blergh. My friend screwed up his work schedule. Driving up Friday morning. Not gonna get in until after the game probably starts. Will be out and about Saturday all day though. Turns out I have a lot of Cubs fan friends and fraternity brothers who are also going to be there. It will be a fun weekend.

The Cubs could've gone 162-0 in the regular season this year and they would still be the underdog because of historical narratives. The Indians might be the statistical underdogs, but the Cubs are history's underdogs and that's what the whole world recognizes them as. The world doesn't recognize the Indians as anything except another team in the World Series, drought or no drought. When people say "Oh the Indians are in the World Series? The end must truly me nigh", then you can call your team the underdog in the series.

Yeah every time Rondon came into the game I had zero faith he would get out his appearance unscathed. He's not reliable anymore since he had that injury. I also don't know how much the whole mental aspect of not being the closer anymore plays into it. I know that's stupid, but it always seems like closers who pitch in non save situations falter more often than not. I don't understand why, you're not throwing a ball any different than you would in a save situation, but it just seems to end up with the closer not pitching well in non-save situations. But between that and his injury he's been pretty unreliable. From August 2nd through the end of the season, just before his injury and his time after, he had an 11.17 ERA in 9.2 innings of work. He's got a 5.62 ERA in 3.2 innings of work this postseason. I don't trust him at all anymore.

I suppose it's possible they'll make those concessions if they win this weekend, but as of right now that's their default schedule.

Must meet the logan. I fly in Friday morning assuming we win this weekend. I don't know where we'll be, nor do I know where the best places to go are so I'll keep my eyes posted here for that if I'm not able to hang out with my friends that are already there. Unfortunately all my in city sleeping options are taken so I'm gonna be having to commute to and from the suburbs. Here's a question related to that: During the weekends (or during big city events, i.e. a friggin Cubs World Series), will the Metra have late night trains to the suburbs (Milwaukee District West line)? I'm trying to use the Metra website to find out but they changed their scheduling system from the last time I used it and it's all wonky on my browser and not displaying properly for some reason. EDIT: nvm, found the PDF schedule. Looks like their latest train departs at 12:40AM

My friend and I have already planned out a drive up to Chicago if they make the World Series. We'll be there for the homestand.

Yeah I didn't take away that he was clearly out, it looked like a legitimate tie. The edge of his mit looks like it hit his chin at the exact time the tips of his fingers were touching the plate. It may have been as close to a tie as you can get, and in that case the evidence is inconclusive and the call stands.

Since this forum turns to sludge when the postseason games are in session and it takes me forever ot get on here and browse/post, I'll likely not be here for the game. So I just want to say: You guys are awesome, we got this, Go Cubs!

Several years ago I got bumped on short commuter flight to first class and the guy who sat down next to me immediately asked for Leinenkugel Red, which is their Irish Red ale, I believe. I wasn't so shocked as they had an Irish Red, as they were mostly known for their "Fruity Pebbles" beer locally. I was just shocked that an airplane was offering Leinenkugel's in general, let alone one of their flavors I had never seen or heard of before. I would've expected the usual suspects: Bud, Coors, Heineken at it's most fanciest selection, but Leinenkugel? It was strange.
