  1. As a fantasy owner of both Chris Sale and Yoan Moncada, I am quite pleased. Does Moncada slide back over to 2B instead of 3B where the Red Sox planned to use him?
  2. No, but I don't think there are any other good options. Someone should make one. P.S. I'm debating looking into making an online marketplace that puts sth in direct contact with buyers, not unlike something similar to Let go, but not app based, skipping the middle man. Lots of logistics, but it could be worth exploring.
  3. Sam Dyson or Alex Claudio, please. Hard pass on Sam Dyson, personally. Don't like his peripherals at all. Doesn't miss bats, walks more dudes than I'm comfortable with at the back end of the bullpen, has worrisome FIP's. I know we have a good defense and all that, but I'd like for my closer/back end bullpen guys to be able to get outs on their own just as much as they would rely on the defense behind him.
  4. Nats GM- "Dusty, we lost Melancon to the Giants today, but it looks like we have a real chance of getting Chris Sale." Dusty- "Great! Sale can pitch every 5 days and close a day or two in between starts like Kershaw did against us in the playoffs, right?" Mike Rizzo:
  5. Are there legal regulations season ticket holders have to abide by when selling their tickets online? Like if they sell online are they only legally allowed to do so through StubHub?
  6. Drive that market up
  7. Yes, he strikes out a lot, hence leave him stew in the minors while he continues to work on his swing.
  8. That's a good thing, you know.
  9. Man, remember when he came up and he had the Griffey, Jr. comps? That'd be neat if he achieved those next year.
  10. Nice. Texas has a bunch of quality bullpen arms, though I wonder if they could aim for Profar or Gallo in an expanded deal. Nah, probably not. Would be nice if they could, though. What the hell would we do with Gallo? Or are you saying bring a 3rd team in to send him to? Pretty much. Trade bait, basically. Or you keep him in the minors and wait for him to turn back into the dong crushing juggernaut he was two years ago, because he still obviously isn't ready for MLB pitching yet, and you use him like we used Schwarber in 2015. Then if he proves himself valuable in his time on the MLB club, and Schwarber plays like Schwarber, you can comfortably explore trade options for Schwarber in the offseason, maximizing his value to an American League club and getting a hell of a haul for him while an MLB ready Gallo is ready to take over?
  11. If garbage Kolten Wong and prospects is what it takes to get a 2 person combo of Davis/Cain/Dyson, that can easily be matched and or beaten by us. Getting Cain AND Davis is one stop shopping. And if it costs us less than Soler, even better.

  13. For funsies... Schwarber Baez Edwards, Jr. Happ Cease And that probably barely gets the foot in the door if I had to guess. Trout is going to take a Bryant or a Seager type player to headline a deal who has established elite big league credentials, costs next to nothing, and is under control for 3+ years. And I'm quite fond of our third baseman. If Schwarber goes out there this year and puts up 30+ dongs with an OPS around .900, perhaps that changes things. But right now Schwarber is the biggest expendable bargaining chip in a deal for Trout and I really don't think they'll want a guy who missed an entire year as a headliner. If Trout gets moved this offseason, it probably won't be to us. And let's be honest, it won't be to anybody. The absolute earliest they entertain ideas is this coming trade deadline and even then they won't be desperate to move him
  14. Injury concerns? Acquisition cost concerns? Or both? Also, going after Duffy, Davis, and Cain is savvy. I'd suspect it'd probably cost a lot, but I like that idea.
  15. Jansen and Chapman also still have youth on their side. Melancon will be 32. Jansen and Chapman will be 28-29.
  16. Are the Yankees going after Jansen AND Chapman, or are they just in on Jansen because they need a closer in general? Wouldn't put it past them to get both, but they should probably put some focus on that disaster of a rotation first.
  17. No, you're just shoehorning him into every thread in the transactions forum and it's kind of annoying. Alright I'll stop annoying you Cool, thanks! That said, I'll echo what others have said in that the proposal you're offering seems to be too much. I like Wilson's peripherals, and I agree a lefty with that kind of velocity and walk rate would be handy in the bullpen, but his overall numbers are not sparkling and it shouldn't take that much to conceivably get him. If the Tigers are going into rebuild mode Soler is a good name to float around, but not for Justin Wilson. Wilson should be attainable for someone like Matt Sczcur, at best, IMO. He's not being highly sought after, and while Soler has lost a lot of value you can still dream big on his potential and that shouldn't be sacrificed for a middle reliever with so-so results.
  18. Why would they not shift him to 1B? Mark Reynolds is hardly starting 1B material.

  20. DON'T YOU IGNORE THIS MAN http://i.imgur.com/vgXbUfp.jpg?1
  21. A's get Matt Joyce for 2 years and $11 million. Didn't even notice how nice of a season he had at the plate. In 293 part time PA's he hit 13 homers and drew 59 walks (a 20% walk rate). His OBP was .403 and his OPS was .866 (with a 131 OPS+). His ISO was .221, the same as Kyle Seager, Adrian Beltre, and better than Jose Bautista, Mookie Betts, Corey Seager, Bryce Harper, and Paul Goldschmidt, just to name some notables. All for $5.5 mil AAV. Very nice value signing for them to pick up (garbage OF'er so probably a DH option)
  22. That's pretty damn savvy, honestly.
  23. I would hope Zobrist becomes our leadoff hitter with Schwarber back inthe lineup.
  24. They've got about $30 mil to play with, give or take, after arbitration if they want to match last year's opening day salary total. I just didn't expect 25% of it to go to a platoon outfielder for Almora.
  25. He broke his forearm this season. 2015 it was wrist tendonitis.
