  1. I watched at a brewpub in the suburbs last night. Will probably be sticking around here again.
  2. God bless Terry Franconia for continuing to play Lonnie Chisenhall in right field
  3. Depends on how much alcohol was in his system.
  4. driving at night with speed playing a big issue the cocaine could easily have tipped the scales from relatively cautious to recklessness. Potentially being absolutely knackered without coke is still probably just as dangerous, if not more. Not saying the coke wasn't playing a part, but we all know the dangers of what alcohol can do on its own and its not pretty.
  5. I mean if he was driving the boat, in all honesty, the alcohol probably was the worse drug to have in his system, and I think most everyone expected that to be in play. The cocaine is more shocking to me because of mlb drug testing and his willingness to chance it with cocaine. I mean if the accident never happened and he got tested the next day and then we got reports of Jose Fernandez: Cocaine User, that'd be crushing to his public image. It surprises me he'd be careless with his career like that, not just his life.
  6. I have been endlessly frustrated with the losses, and I will be endlessly frustrated if we lose again. The difference between now and the past is I'll be mad instead of sad because I know we belong here, and anything less than a championship is a disappointment. And I know we'll be back for the next several years. "Wait til next year" was a defense mechanism to mask the sadness, now its a threat. Win or lose, I love this team so much and I couldn't be prouder of what they've accomplished. Go Cubs !!
  7. I have 2% battery left and I came here to say this has been horsefeathering pathetic
  8. Taking train into Chicago right now. Then going to Wrigley to get some photos, then getting away to find a spot to watch later.
  9. Made it in an hour ago. Upset we couldn't muster up anything against Josh Tomlin. We'll just have to get em tomorrow!
  10. My friend and I are driving up today and wont get in until about an hour after the game starts. What radio stations will the game be on? Like the actual numbers to the stations? I assume WGN Radio but I don't know the station number. Also I hear both Pat and Len on some replays? Are they on the same station? Where can I listen to Len?
  11. Here's a useful guide: http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2016/10/27/13440228/world-series-wrigleyville-where-to-watch?utm_campaign=bleedcubbieblue
  12. Cubs presser is live on Facebook right now: https://www.facebook.com/Cubs/videos/10154426753370659/
  13. Schwarber has dibs on this one: http://i.imgur.com/tziEJp8.jpg?1
  14. They've been doing it for a couple years now I think
  15. What? No...they are not going to bench Javy. Easy solution: C Contreras 1B Rizzo 2B/RF Zobrist SS Russell 3B/2B Baez LF Schwarber CF Fowler RF/3B Bryant Pure dongaliciousness
  16. Okay, the site is fine, it's my internet. At work now and the site is loading up perfectly. Stupid home internet.
  17. Posting in this thread while I can since the site is super slow. I can browse the threads just fine but as soon as I try and open a thread the site speed turns to sludge. Not sure if it's my internet or the site since everyone else seems to be posting just fine (plus it's the middle of the day and there aren't several hundred people on here right now. Just want to say that I love that Fred is posting the game threads right now, and that he is the first member to have a World Series win for the forum! Go CUBS !!
  18. Now that we're picking at the end of the first round I'm less concerned about losing draft picks. I'd be all for Jansen and Chapman.
  19. Schwarber crushing a near dong off Corey friggin' Kluber with next to no live pitching experience over the last 5-6 months was better than I thought he'd do, and an exceptional sign for things to come. If he can crush a pitch that well off a guy who was pitching THAT good, then it bodes well for Schwarbs the rest of the series.
  20. I like pimping home runs as much as the next guy, but for Christ's sake its the world series, willson.
