  1. If you know, you want to laugh... or get pissed at the ignorance of hall of fame baseball players. Some of them are right, most are wrong in terms of placement. A lot should be higher, a lot should be lower, some shouldn't be on there at all. 1. Albert Pujols 1B, Cardinals 2. Alex Rodriguez 3B, Yankees 3. Johan Santana SP, Mets 4. 2. i don't think he's bitter. The cubs were a very bad organization during that time. However, his story sounds similar to a lot of guys I've been around who spent a lot of time in the minor and we're fringey. Imagine the stories a guy like Murton or C-pat will have Murton definitely. Corey Patterson though is responsible for his own terrible downfall. He had plenty of opportunity to right the ship and he failed miserably. If I ever see an interview with him where he talks about not getting a fair shake, I'm gonna laugh.
  3. It's probably the truth. Don't know how he sounds bitter. He sounds like a guy telling a story to someone who asked him about it
  4. Ewww, Jim Belushi
  5. :-k Are the Indians shopping Lee and are the Brewers trying to get him?
  6. Of course. He's only signed through this season anyway, so there's no contractual commitment beyond 2009. His contract is quite pricey for this season though. With the way he is playing there's no way the Mariners wouldn't eat some of his salary this year.
  7. AHEM Just re-quoting what people need to see. I'm glad Peavy is against it, way to stick to your guns and hold out for what HE wants, not what the Pads want. He's in control and it sounds like he fully understands that. I'm assuming those 3-4 teams he would go to without hesitation, the Cubs are obviously one of them. I would say Atlanta as well but didn't he reject the idea of going to Atlanta? Maybe that's changed. Would the Brewers be the other team?
  8. I remember being excited for the HBO special. I was waiting all week for it and by the time it was over I was depressed. Off the top of my head Im pretty sure that there's no Cubs movie, save for maybe Rookie of the Year, that has a happy ending whether it be a fiction movie or a documentary. They may be informative and bring back some memories, but in the end the Cubs always lose... and I don't like being reminded of that, especially since they never do it in a positive light, always a dramatic, sad, miserable tone. I hate that
  9. Aramis might not even be here in 2011, he has yet another opt out clause after 2010.
  10. it couldn't withstand his 30-30 potential and finally gave in EDIT: Seriously though...
  11. It's nice to see Vitters' power is emerging now. It'd be a lot nicer though if he learned how to draw a walk. 3 BB's in 122AB? Yikes
  12. Fools. You clearly underestimate the greatness of Summer Catch
  13. In an interview with that other guy I keep mentioning, he said he brings a jersey and hat for each team at the game, begs for balls from the bullpen by clamoring them talking about how they're huge fans (they're not), and they also push and shove on BP home runs in order to get them. Like I said before the guy in the interview sorta shoved a kid aside to try and get a ball. They're scum. On that HappyYoungster site it shows him using a glove trick where he puts a glove on a string that I suppose when you pull on it closes, and he lowered it into a concourse on the field where a stray ball was to pick it up. They have no mercy or regard for anyone except themselves when trying to get these things. They're P's of S
  14. Damn, even with a big day yesterday for my team I still fell behind. And now there's news that Quentin might be put on the DL if he doesn't recover from his heel injury quickly. If that happens, I'm toast
  15. That's actually not the guy, the guy I was referring to was a different guy, but they both have the same hobby and tactics. The one I was referring to would actually elbow kids out of the way for a batting practice home run. Either way, this guy thinks asking for two bats isn't a big deal, and you know what it probably isn't, but he never took the time to step into his shoes and think about the importance of that situation for Coughlan. Besides, that was like his 700th ball or whatever that he's caught, what's the big deal with having to give it back? He gave some infant who doesn't even understand the concept of a baseball one of the ones he had, but he won't give a ball that has extreme important significance to someone back to him without wanting something in return? He pretty much said what he asked for wasn't ransom. Guess what, if you have something that is of little importance to you and someone else wants and/or deserves it, and you won't give it to them and instead ask for something elsei nreturn that is of more value to you... that's ransom... douche. Oh, and also it appears that he actually was a classy Brewers fan posing as a Marlins fan. Quality.
  16. I'm trying to find a link to that dude who collects all those balls, I think there was a piece on him that Costas Now or Real Sports did on him. Donm't know what to search for when looking for it. He was a complete douche though. He would shove kids out of the way during batting practice home runs and every other time just to get a frigging baseball. He has like over 10,000 or some crap and he goes around the country to random games and has jerseys and hats for every team in baseball so if he goes to a game he can pose as that team's fan and beg for balls from bullpen guys and then go to the other bullpen and swap out merch and to the same for the other team. He would also get extremely pissed when he didn't catch a ball or a ball would be given to a kid instead of him. This sounds just like something he would ask for. An obsessive baseball collector who didn't want to give it up so he asked for the world
  17. EDIT: Scratch that. Classy Brewers fans. Thought it was a home game at first EDIT AGAIN: I really need to read the whole article first. So he posed as a Marlins fan... in Milwaukee... hmmmmm. You know who it sounds like? That guy who collects home runs and foul balls and begs for balls form the bullpen who brings caps and jerseys of each team to every game he goes to. That dude who is a total douche bag
  18. Nah, the reason Gregg gave up those runs so easily is because I picked him up for saves in one of my fantasy leagues last night. Naturally, his inclusion on my roster led him to certain doom and failure
  19. LOL @ Rollins and Reyes and Tulowitzki and Greene and Renteria and Drew and .........
  20. Seeing as how you registered a few days ago, yes. Yes you are missing something. Just go with it, and ride the wave of greatness that is...
  21. damn yous. negating my strategy! In retrospect I probably should've dropped Votto and added Chris Davis
  22. That would be an awesome headline for The Onion
  23. I'm glad I overreacted and dropped him from my Fantasy team after 3 games to begin the season
  24. That was awesome. I see you needed to use several shots of his jersey merchandise in order to squeeze in some photos of him to fit the song. That was awesome
