  1. I like automotive stuff a lot but don't know enough about it to be able to follow along with Le Mans. I dig it though and will be keeping an eye on it, though not with eagle like precision. Who are the favorites?
  2. Good call, forgot about him. Yeah, that stat seems like it's a bit out of whack now. Must be some sort of quirky stipulation, like wins by a LHP during day games or something
  3. I don't recall that stat being mentioned since I haven't watched many games lately, but it was probably since 2003 since that was when Lilly first won 10 games as a starter (he won 12 that year) and was his first full year as a starter. Since then he has 88 wins including this season. Sabathia since 2003 has 103
  4. David Price sure does like getting his pitch count up to 100 by the 5th inning a lot
  5. I'm sure he's having a real hard time trying to find a gold digger with his busy schedule
  6. Laynce Nix, ewww. Well since you have Ibanez and assuming Scott will continue to be moderately decent at hitting homers Dye probably is expendable for you. Adding Victorino could help for SB's and put you a little over the top each week since Figgins is also in there. Not sure what your pitching looks like, but since Dye isn't your best outfielder and he's only a little better than your 3rd best outfielder I'd say the trade looks like it makes more sense. I'm assuming your pitching isn't the greatest which is why you're willing to make this trade. Still, losing Pujols is a big downer. I'd say it's a decent trade to make assuming your pitching needs serious help, but deciding whether or not to trade Pujols away is the big question, but it seems like getting Gonzalez in return won't hurt your team that bad with Ibanez on there. I don't know, ultimately it's your decision, but in my unprofessional opinion I'd be somewhat satisfied if I made that trade. Your offense will still be solid enough that you won't dread the loss of Pujols it seems, but like I said losing Pujols is big no matter what Jyst out of curiosity, is Nolan Reimold still available? I know I have a Reimold mancrush right now, but he's mashing the ball and he's an OF'er. If he's still available I'd say do the trade and lock him up after
  7. BTW, The Oriorles are going to be frigging awesome in 2-3 years assuming some of these players are still here then... Reimold, Jones, Markakis, Roberts, Weiters, Arrieta, Matusz, Tillman, Erbe. Assuming all those players won't be traded and/or released for whatever reason, their team is going to look absurd if their young guys pan out to their potential. And if they decide to trade any of them they could get some good MLB talent in return for some of these guys from teams trying to rebuild if they deem one or two of these guys expendable. They also have that Brandon Snyder kid at 1B in AA mashing the ball (.343/.411/.605/.1016 10HR 41RBI) who might be up by then if he pans out
  8. Reimold hit another home run tonight. 7HR in 78AB so far this season. That's a hefty number if extrapolated out to a full season (which means nothing, I know, but still)
  9. 627th! Nick Hundley 13 Casey Kotchman 11 Freddy Sanchez -6 (he's gettin' there) Brandon Inge -17 (he's also starting to fall back to earth) Marco Scutaro -14 (flukey douche bag) Felix Pie 21 :( Michale Bourn 7 Jeff Francouer 42 hahaha Kris Benson 30 Daniel Cabrera 18 Flukey starts by Inge and Scutaro are ruining me. That and picking Hundley over Kendall was a mistake
  10. Is it fair? Yeah, I think so... The right trade? I don't think it is. Victorino is not going to help you in steals. He's only got 9 so far and he's battling a nagging hip injury right now. He;s not going to put you over the top. Personally I think steals is an overrated department. Stolen base specialist are good at usually one thing... stealing bases. Often they are good at making contat and hitting for modest averages, but that's about it. Not many HR or RBI production. Victorino isn't bad, but he's not a difference maker. Gonzzlez would be nice but Pujols is superior in every way. Volstad is a nice pitcher but he's nothing special. Dye is swinging the bat well. It's a tough call, but... Pujols > Gonzalez Volstad <<<< Halladay Dye >> Victorino I say no. Halladay will pitch one, sometimes two times a week. He could be lights out both times but if the rest of your staff is crap it's not really gonna matter. Pujols plays every day and is a huge difference maker for your offense. I gotta say no to it. Who else is on your team though that could be expendable and/or replaceable? Also who is available in the FA pool?
  11. I wish we needed a permanent right fielder because I'd kill for Brad Hawpe. He's probably the only Rockie in history to not have extreme home road splits. With the exception of some averages that aren't too drastic, almost all of his production numbers are eerily similar on the road as they are at home. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?n1=hawpebr01&year=Career&t=b#plato
  12. I was recently at the Trop to watch a Rays game and sat out in right field and looked to see just how far it was for the ball to travel to that spot. Yeah, metal bat or no metal bat, it's pretty damn impressive.
  13. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Sm-IU2rSL._SS500_.jpg
  14. I picked him up in like 3 leagues before that start. Some of those teams still suck. The fantasy gods have not been smiling on me this year. I feel your pain. I defeated my opponent 14-0 last week in a h2h league. That's an incredible feat, not sure if it's been done in that league for quite some time, but it didn't really matter. I was in 4th place and about 8 games out of first. 2 of the 3 teams ahead of me beat their opponents 10-2 and 12-1, so I stayed in 4th and only moved a couple games closer to 1st.
  15. I dropped Zobrist to make room for Nolan Reimold in my dynasty fantasy league because at the time he was still a backup, then less than a week after Iwamura goes down and he takes over and mashes. Then I looked at the rest of my team and realized I didn't really think it through because there were a crap load of other players I could've dropped to make room for Reimold. But yeah, Zobrist has been pretty great for the Rays. His power numbers last year were sort of in line with what he's done so far this year, he's just hitting the ball for contact as well as power this year. He was always a pretty good hitter in the minors, just not a power guy. I also didn't realize he was already 28. I thought he was 24 or 25 or something.
  16. Same here. Unless the rest of my team starts mashing, I'll be done before the ASB
  17. Hendry, quick! Sign him to a multi year deal with a no trade clause!
  18. I'll check it out, and good luck to you! Hope it all works out for the best!
  19. And then Reimold later hit a 3-run homer.
  20. That's the 2nd Jeff Gillooly reference I've seen on this site in the past 4 days, lol
  21. I think he has the career one, don't know about single season though. I do believe he tied Ferguson Jenkins for the Cubs single season mark with 6HR
  22. not a free agent signing. But a bad free agent re-signing. The NTC is killing us It was a midseason extension... but you're still right about the NTC. If anything that should serve as a reminder to rethink the option of tossing out a NTC like it's the extra change you dump in the "Save [insert childs name] Foundation" at the gas station
  23. .468 OPS for Matt through 22AB Stick a fork in him... or better yet, trade him to the Cubs
