No, and we never will be, because Colvin is a part time player and he's benefited from an extreme home/road split, just like most Colorado players. Tyler Colvin is a [expletive] burger with extra cheese who had no place on this roster.
I like how LaRussa acknowledges Hill, who has been the best 2B in the NL all year, as someone who might deserve it more than Phillips. Uggla: .234/.361/.409/.770 11HR 43RBI (Starter) Altuve: .304/.347/.444/.791 5HR 23RBI 12SB (Reserve) Phillips: .283/.327/.441/.768 10HR 46RBI 4SB (Pissy McPisspants) Hill: .300/.359/.512/.871 11HR 38RBI 7SB (HEY GUYS LOOK AT ME LOOK AT WHAT I'M DOING!)
Just realized that Joey Votto has 33 doubles, and ESPN has his pace set at 69 doubles this season, which would break the MLB record of 67. Probably won't happen, but still... Joey Votto is good
I saw him hit 101 on the gun when he was in AA whilst playing against the Bay Bears. That was quite a while ago, though, but him hitting 100+ is not out of the ordinary as far as I know.
Yasmani Grandal became the first player in MLB history to homer from both sides of the plate for his first two major league hits last night. Pretty cool.
Beckham's been a 20% K guy in his bad years. If Vitters can't keep it at 15% in the majors, then yeah he'll probably hit like Beckham. Straight to gas station DVD
That explains it! Thanks. Good to see he's finally "figuring it out" so to speak. How's his defense coming along though? Getting better or still suspect?
The Dodgers won't be able to find a long term solution at 1B without sacrificing other parts of their future. If they're going for the quick fix in a win-now attempt, Lee makes sense for them as a likely low cost solution... but with Colletti at the helm who knows what the Astros might fleece them for.
At least Billy Hamilton can draw a walk. If Dusty is still around by the time he's called up then he'll at least have a guy who CAN get on base at the top of the order. I bet dusty wishes he could call up Hamilton right now. All that speed, dude.
I see that Vitters has been making significant strides this season as far as his overall numbers go, but what has he been doing specifically that has people so excited? His season so far is reminding me of his 2009 season's numbers, but what is he doing right now that has people so impressed? Just curious.
Would Arizona be tempted to add Garza to their rotation in exchange for one of their big minor league arms and a couple other pieces? Primarily Skaggs?
Mike Trout has a 3.9 fWAR in 54 games. .345/.402/.543/.944 with 8HR 32RBI 21BB and 21SB. 54 games. His UZR is 7.3 and his UZR/150 is 22.4. His bWAR is 4.2 with a dWAR of 1.1. 20 years old. Insane. The country is focusing on the wrong phenom.
