  1. Well at least they took the trouble of asking Hendry himself.
  2. Stupid question of the day: I thought there were international rules about compensating previous clubs for development whenever a player was transferred before the age of 24? or are those UEFA rules only?
  3. I was thinking about Carlos Zambrano in particular.
  4. :-)) :-)) :-))
  5. Nice way to draw the controversy in to the thread. 8-) Btw, this is excluding international FA's, right?
  6. Curiosity question: with the unbalanced schedule and all, has this 'math geek' checked if these predictions are even mathematically possible within the 2010 playing schedule or is this one of these averaged out Monte Carlo simulation thingies?
  7. Belgian international Eden Hasard (who just turned 19 in January) scoring for Lille. 8-) Impressive 1-3 victory for Standard Liège away at Panathinaikos yesterday evening.
  8. ManU v Milan Real v Lyon Could be another great evening of soccer.
  9. I watched the entire game live and Porto were just outplayed for 90 minutes. Arsenal were very entertaining to watch.
  10. Arsenal off to a flying start against Porto, putting pressure from the first minute and being rewarded after 10 minutes with a Bendtner goal.
  11. LOL @ the impossibility to display the ERA for De Los Santos in the box score.
  12. I highly doubt it's been studied in the field of baseball, but there has been similar research in the field of work environments. Recent research has shown a correlation, but apparently not a simple causal link. Abstract of such research, and from the conclusions in the full document (p.48):
  13. I have complete faith Silva will continue suck, as for Cub management recognizing how badly he sucks not so sure. This is my fear as well, though I must admit that Carlos has started out very well in his mission to make things easy.
  14. Some players go the other way. 34yr old striker Blaise N'Kufo (who was born in Congo but has a Swiss passport) is going from FC Twente to Seattle Sounders after this season.
  15. Behind Brazil and Spain, I presume?
  16. This is being discussed in this topic
  17. Winter, technically. :P Yes and no. Astronomically, you're right. But in meteorology, he's right.
  18. According to Oranjebytes.nl, they'll likely go with: Stekelenburg; Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Mathijsen, Van Bronckhorst; Van Bommel, De Jong; Sneijder; Kuijt, Huntelaar and Robben
  19. Preach it, Jake. :good: I'm sure you can count on the support of this board whenever the Pirates play the Cardinals or the Brewers.
  20. Maybe Lee is just annoyed at being asked stupid questions about stupid media reports.
  21. Was that expected? Well, it's not like they haven't won bobsled before. They did it in 1948. Guess who won the silver. 8-)
  22. Whatever he says, your answer is "Minä en ymmärrä suomea"
  23. So with the women's bobsleigh competition about to start, the rest of the world has caught up with the story:TV dream becomes reality "Reality TV" is not the correct term, since Canvas is about equivalent to BBC2 in it's programming. From the very beginning, it's more been a documentary about starting from scratch than anything else.
  24. An irrelevant side story, since Belgium doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning anything in Vancouver, but worth telling anyway. Four years ago, two TV guys (I assume after a night of drinking in a bar) came up with an idea for a new program: find a group of random (female) athletes who aren't getting anywhere in their chosen sport, stick them in a bobsleigh with cameras rolling and call the program "Road to Vancouver". Fast forward four years; next Tuesday Elfje Willemsen (who used to throw a javelin) and Eva Willemarck (a former sprinter) will participate in the Olympic bobsleigh competition. Beware of crazy ideas - they might just become reality. If you'd have predicted this to those TV guys at the time, they'd have said you'd been drinking. 8-)
  25. Canadian health care?
