  1. I'd go with Hightower. No idea what to expect from LJ after his layoff, plus KC is running a spread offense now that actually works. He may not get a ton of carries. As for WR, go with Cotchery.
  2. If I recall correctly, Desipio has been mentioned by Kasper on WGN and also on ESPN. I don't know that he's hurting for traffic. That said, I'll believe this when I hear it.. edit: you just posted the same thing
  3. Vitters would be hard to trade, but if he's the main piece that gets Peavy, it's hard to not do the deal.
  4. I'm way late to the game, so this has probably already been covered, but what about the difference between Peavy's road/home splits? How much has Petco helped him out?
  5. I'm almost certainly reading too much into this or just flat out dreaming, but could this sound like Hermida? You need better dreams.
  6. May Clay Bennett burn in hell.
  7. Who hits well in the clutch season after season. Manny has consistently been better with RISP throughout his career Not appreciably so (about 55 points of OPS). That's almost all from him having better OBP with runners in scoring position, which could probably be attributed to pitchers being more careful with him when there are guys on base.
  8. Okay, color me confused then. Why does the league have one as a whole then? Because Meph just says things sometimes.
  9. How hard is it to Google "Matt Holliday" and find out this information?
  10. Is he actually any good? I have a chance to get him in a keeper league, but I'm not sure how valuable he'd be even in 2009. If he's only going to get 14 carries a game next year, I don't really want him. Anyone have thoughts on him, even though it's still early? I haven't been too impressed.
  11. Are the Cubs fans stupid in general? Or stupid because they hate Ronny Cedeno? Hate is a little strong, but it's not stupid to think he's bad at baseball.
  12. Anyone able to pull out how many of Lee's DPs came with Theriot on first?
  13. Interesting. I forget, does VORP accumulate with more at bats? Roberts had 100 or so more at bats then DeRo did this year. I could be totally wrong here.
  14. Yeah, that was weird. Funny guy, but why cite him as a source? Hilarious.
  15. How do you figure? DeRosa had 30 points of OPS on Roberts. Even if you factor in Roberts' stolen bases, that probably still doesn't make up the difference.
  16. SABR guys don't dream, because they do not require sleep like most humans. Each night, they are connected to a laptop via USB port, and they charge until the following morning.
  17. 2005 and 2006 weren't awful because the Cubs got rid of Sosa. He was clearly done after 2004.
  18. So, in short, good RH pitchers are good against the Cubs. Could it be because they're good?
  19. Excellent, thank you. It's like the stakes are so high they're paralyzed with fear. And telling them to "man up" only makes it worse. And movies are usually popular because there's at least a kernel of truth in there, otherwise people wouldn't relate. Professional baseball is exactly like the movies.
  20. Is it possible to get rid of Lee? NTC, right? I'd be wary of Adam Dunn in the outfield, but what about playing him at first?
