Yeah, and they see that as a failure of the system, and yet it created some dang fun teams. There's just got to be a way to do it that doesn't incentivize putting a bad product on the field/court/ice

Every sport should go with the Gold Plan that awards points for each win post-elimination from the playoffs. Or a true random lottery of the teams who finish outside the playoffs.

Idk, I used the board without knowing about active topics for years, and have used active topics the past couple. I dont think the board is all that different in terms of navigation than it was before. I wonder if there are any users who didn't have their email updated and are having issues due to that.

With Happ and Suzuki locked in at the corners for the next 3 years after this one, and some of our best hitting prospects (PCA, Alcantara, Davis) also being OFs, does it make one or more of the prospects more available in a deal for a big bat at 1B or 3B? Or do we just assume at least one will bust and we will have 4 to play between the OF and DH? With Alcantara's 40-man status, might we see him be pushed a little more than "normal" if he performs well? Not sure what options are out there to pursue, but say Davis recovers his power and can be playable in CF, he's probably up at the end of this year, and if Alcantara is really good this year he can likely be in the mix next year. Who is out there at 3B or 1B that we would want to go get?

Cerami doesn't do the "source" stuff much, so this seems promising. He was on the Hoerner news early. Could be interesting to see what a Happ extension looks like

I think the fact that they have so obviously prioritized run prevention in the infield makes it even more baffling that they broke camp with only 2 actual outfielders on the roster. Also, bizarre that this may not even be the craziest comeback over the Seattle Mariners at home when they were trailing 6-0 when the Cubs came to bat in the 3rd inning at Wrigley Field

Not sure if there were a lot of Wild fans in the building, or if the Chicago crowd has turned to cheering the tank, but it was loud (on the ESPN broadcast) after the tying and go-ahead goals for MIN

Is Nelly Velazquez good enough against lefties and good enough in CF to use to spell Bellinger? I know he's supposed to be pretty good for a corner OF, just not sure how he plays in CF... tuned out too much last year to notice

Dylan Dodd held the Cardinals to 1 run over 5 innings and got the W in his MLB debut. Pretty cool for a kid whose HS has about 400 students. I'm a grad of the same school, and they let school out early today so people could go see him pitch since it's about a 3.5 hour drive from STL. -

one hit from Mancini, then none from anyone else outside the top 3 in the order and that hit was in the 3rd inning of game 1. So we're at 15 innings and counting with only 3 guys collecting hits
