  1. #TeamLaunchThemAll mostly because I feel this roster just hasn't been improved enough, the coaching hasn't been good enough, and Fields has enough limitations that you can't really tell if he will ever be good enough to lead you where you need to go. Might as well clean house and start over with the Carolina pick being a QB. If your QB is good, you can find good enough WRs (not on Harrison's level probably, but good ones) later in the draft. Wouldn't even mind Rome Odunze or Malik Nabers or Brock Bowers around the 7-10 slot the Bears might end up with. Find a way to beef up the pass rush in FA, especially on the interior and you should have enough on D to compete with a good offense.
  2. I predict Horton is on the Opening Day roster and wins ROY, earning the Cubs a PPI draft pick
  3. HAHAHAHAHAHA
  4. Matt Eberflus and Luke Getsy, everyone!
  5. https://x.com/richeisen/status/1729343800798273965?s=20
  6. They just refuse to call even intermediate throws
  7. rumored price for Glasnow per Reds beat writer on mlb.com What's your first offer? Mine would probably be Assad, I imagine they would counter with Ben Brown or Wicks
  8. good news for the Bears, especially since the Bears play the Cardinals on Christmas Eve
  9. The good news for those coaches is that one of the best things to do to avoid a loss the last couple of years is to play the Bears.
  10. Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Cardinals are nearing the finalization of a deal to bring free agent starting pitcher Sonny Gray to St Louis. The Cardinals finished in fifth place last season in large part because their rotation (and pitching staff in general) imploded. They have pursued starters aggressively early in the offseason, picking up Kyle Gibson before Thanksgiving and now it appears they're going to add Gray to the mix. Gray, 34 years old, had what is probably the best season of his career in 2023, finishing second in the Cy Young Award while pitching for the Twins. UPDATE: Sonny Gray has agreed to a three year, $75 million deal with St Louis.

  12. I'm so tired of the "they haven't even gone over $200 million" comments. There have been very few players worth that kind of money available. If they're serious about winning (and all indications are in the affirmative) they'll offer a boatload of $ to Ohtani this year and/or Soto next year
  13. I don't think Poles will pick either Tackle... I think he is convinced Jones is their LT and obviously Wright is solid and getting better at RT
  14. is this an alopecia joke? because if so, well done
  15. I just don't think it's that hard or time consuming to navigate to the different sub-forums to read what I want to read... takes one or two extra clicks/touches. Even less if you have used the tools to make your feed show unread posts since your last visit edited to add: Also don't mind Nola signing with the Phillies. The Cubs weren't going to sign him, so might as well have him there instead of the Cardinals or another competitor
  16. Went to Fangraphs and looked at 3B w/300+ ABs and got to these guys who might be available before getting into Wisdom/madrigal range (and you might argue that all but Paredes fall into that range) Isaac Paredes (TB), Jake Burger (MIA), Yoan Moncada (CHW), Ryan McMahon (COL)... didn't look at contracts or really anything other than did they provide more WAR than Wisdom last year and would they be hypothetically "available"
  17. The idea of seeing his slugging numbers improve playing his home games at Wrigley should make him salivate. Signing a guy like Ohtani changes everything for this roster that generally lacks that big bat. Yes, they hit plenty of HRs (dead middle of the league, 15th, with 196), but it was because they had 6 guys hit 20-26. a 40-50 HR guy in the middle of the lineup changes the game plan for opposing pitchers
  18. The rant isn't wrong.
  19. They won't, because you have to assure yourself of the QB you want... but if the Bears end up at 1 and 3, they should pick MHJr and then whatever QB falls to 3.
  20. It wasn't the wrong choice. He made a perfect throw that should have hit his WR in stride.
  21. Packers got a win because of an awful drop by the Chargers rookie 1st Round WR.
  22. Thought he drifted directly into the pass rush, but on replay it's certainly mostly on Wright.
  23. Now THAT, is on Fields
  24. He threw what should have been a backbreaking dime.
  25. They're absolutely scoring a TD here
