  1. There's little chance they sign Hader and lose a pick... there's 0 chance they sign both Bellinger AND Hader (not that that was necessarily mentioned, but if they sign Belli - thus not getting a pick for him, there's no chance they lose another pick by signing someone)
  2. I think it's picked up traction because there are too many people that are wishcasting this into their favorite team's best player playing again
  3. Yeah, I agree that Poles is unlikely to replace Braxton Jones... I think it would be fine to get multiple WRs in the draft if you got one in the top 10 and then a 2nd rounder. Would Egbuka, Tez Walker, Ladd McConkey, Burton (Bama), Worthy or Mitchell (Tex) be a solid 3rd receiver? I would think you would happily take those guys along with DJ and MHJ/Odunze/Nabers/Coleman... FS should be a position they look to upgrade... Tyler Nubin from Minnesota would seem to be a solid option. And I don't think you could ever have enough good edge rushers, so grabbing one of them late 1st/early 2nd after a trade down would be good too
  4. all that to call a QB draw from the 5 for the season?
  5. until it gets to the 2 pt conversion shootout, at least in this scenario... That's not bad in the regular season, but would feel weird if it goes to that to decide a trip to the title game
  6. Could take Fashanu or Alt at 4, Nabers/Odunze/whoever with the Bears own pick, then a DL/Edge/(QB?) at 17
  7. He's always been capable of moments of brilliance. He hasn't shown he can be routinely good, and has shown a propensity for the negative plays like easily-avoidable sacks, fumbles, and picks.
  8. The Cubs, like every other major league team, can spend basically whatever they want and still turn a profit.
  9. Yeah, if they're drafting a QB, they'll trade Fields asap. If they're not, they'll trade the pick long before draft night.
  10. Feel like their cap situation is pretty clear. Hopefully some FAs want to play with Bedard.
  11. Just sickening in every way. No chance he plays for Illinois again because I can't imagine a court case wrapping up inside of a month or whatever
  12. This right here is my biggest (and I suspect others') source of contention with the Cubs' apparent strategy. Getting cute and trying to sign guys you might be able to squeeze a little value out of (and to be fair, my bold prediction last year was that Mancini would be an all-star, but there's a reason I'm an idiot who posts here and not working for the Cubs) rather than acting like the big market team they are. Yes, there's still a lot of time left this offseason and plenty of good FAs, but I think it's fair to be disappointed with the way things have unfolded and seem to be heading, while also realizing it can change in one move (or a couple moves) from a disappointing to an exciting offseason.
  13. Seems like a good depth DB at minimum
  14. Nah, can't throw the ball here. Run the ball, kick the FG
  15. Terrell Smith made back to back nice plays there
  16. Just run that toss play that's gotten like 6 ypc today
  17. Tonyan just doesn't block anyone
  18. Tyrique didn't look good there
  19. This game isn't over...
  20. That was not a forward pass... clearly backward
  21. Cardinals fans watching the game like...
  22. Daniels is listed at 6'4" 210 Bryce Young is listed at 5'10" 204
  23. Man they need to put some real talent around this kid. He is so good
  24. Sam Darnold went for a 2nd round pick, and a 4th... if you trade Fields, I feel like you have to at least get a 2nd. There's probably not a trade out there for #1 that makes me feel it's worth it, because you just have to fix QB. The rest of this roster is on the verge of competing (assuming they can fill WR, C, DT and the smaller gaps through FA/picks) if they can get a QB in there to have an above average offense. I would be tempted, if the Bears own pick lands at 5 or 6, to move down to 15ish and add a 2nd rounder... add a defender like McKinstry, Newton, Latu, Chop Robinson, Jared Verse, etc. and then a WR with the 2nd rounder
  25. My takeaway of that chart is that if you have a bad QB, you probably rank pretty low as a playcaller
