  1. Saw a tweet that Minnesota isn't going to put Tyler Jay on their 40-man... lefty reliever, 6th pick in 2015 draft, throws low 90s. Might be worth a look, though he has struggled in the minors - has had some shoulder issues so that may be related.
  2. https://www.bleachernation.com/2018/11/09/cubs-hoping-to-have-david-ross-around-more-often-in-an-expanded-role-in-2019/?fbclid=IwAR3txJESERfnez_hxUqzMruKOUMvvkc5SZHz9YlP7NbfMOM18eOIY7tF8E0 hopefully, this means they can all unite in their hatred of David Ross once again.
  3. You have an incredible gift for incorrect sanctimony, it is your superpower Seriously, we aren't putting those guys in deals for stars... Is there a single player in the cardinals org good enough to headline a deal for KB?
  4. pretty sure Jon is in between Chavez and Hamels.... not that it matters because after his performance he could pull a Javy and scream "I do whatever the horsefeathers I want" at the whole clubhouse
  5. Reminder: those head-scratching decisions you speak of nearly cost the Cubs the World Series in Game 7 (letting Chapman pitch the 9th in Game 6, pulling Hendricks and bringing Lester in with a guy on, etc.)
  6. I would go: Edwards Happ Schwarber Monty Almora Bote I think Happ's versatility and years of control are pretty valuable, and Carl and Kyle have shown that their best is pretty dang good. Monty is a solid 5th starter/very good swing guy that a lower-tier team could see as a 3/4 type. Almora is a pretty good defender who can hit fastballs from lefties and average or worse righties. Bote is a versatile guy who plays good defense and has lots of control left, but has a long way to go with the bat and probably isn't someone you want to run out at SS, so he loses a little value as a utility IF type.
  7. Oh get off it Bud Black. Arenado wasn’t going to make a throw.
  8. I feel like Zo’s ABs have been terrible since he singled.
  9. Fans want anything within a foot of the plate called a strike
  10. Gore looks like they snuck a make a wish kid into the outfield
  11. Hahaha, terrible camera angles have to be the only reason. I guess they couldn’t get a good look to overturn the awful call.
  12. What a horrible call from the 2b ump. If Javy didn’t think he was out there’s no way he was out.
  13. Never mind, guess they wanted to show Willy some video or something.
  14. 1. Javy does something amazing, either saving a run on defense or scoring one on offense when most people would have been out. 2. Contreras grounds out on a 3-1 or 2-0 pitch in a big moment.
  15. 1-5: Pick any order, I don't care 6: Yankees 7: Astros 8: Dodgers 9: The world ends/Trump declares baseball illegal/a series of sinkholes swallow every baseball stadium 10: Brewers
  16. I’m still salty that MLB decides that they had to change the rules to set up a play in game. I think a 19-game sample is plenty to decide a division winner in the case of a tie.
  17. Potential starters: Dodgers - guy who will give up hard hit balls right at guys but strike out enough Cubs to give up 1 run or less Rockies - see above Cubs - guy who will give up 4 bloop hits and walk guys at precisely the wrong time leading to 2 runs before the bullpen takes over and gives up a couple more leading to a 4-1 or 4-0 loss
  18. Terrible ESPN production also made me forget that it was a double switch, as they never mentioned Happ coming in. I'm still not even sure who he came in for. Was is Schwarber?
