  1. Well I use it as a reference for stats, just don't read the articles. Sure. I don't read them so I wouldn't know. It's not rebellion, it's laziness, mostly. If there is something interesting written on one of those sites, it will make its way here pretty quickly, so I just catch it second hand on NSBB instead of first hand on the other sites
  2. I don't actually read articles about the Cubs. I literally never visit sites like bleacher report or fangraphs or whatever
  3. FWIW I just gave him a heart. Also, totally forgot about A New Era. Aesthetically speaking, his sig may be the worst thing in the history of the world. I love how obvious it is who has sigs on/off, as some people's sigs are like 8 or 9 years old.
  4. The whole thing? Sure! You overestimate my life savings. And the Bitcoin to dollar conversation rate is a bitch
  5. I invested my life savings into Bitcoin. Do you accept that?
  6. IF they make a highlight reel for the 2015 Brewers season, it should just be every angle of that play on a loop
  7. i hope that whenever we win it, he actually feels comfortable showing his face and having some sort of cool moment because the whole thing is awful. Bring him back after they win it. I don't trust Cubs/sports fans enough to not be awful to him if they bring him back for a playoff game or something and then they end up losing. Bring him back where? He's living a normal life, just doesn't feed into media(and other) morons. I just feel like he got so much [expletive] and had to be so miserable that it would be nice for him to have a cool moment of some kind. It's meatbally, I guess. It was just so stupid that he had to endure what he did. I had also heard that (maybe it was that ridiculous Wayne Drehs article years ago) he hadn't gone to a game since. Who know if that still is (or ever was) true. That just blows, though. It's amazing, in retrospect, how quickly his name, address etc. got out there. 2003 was year before Facebook and three years before Twitter. Sadly, I think his experience would be many times worse if it happened in 2015
  8. There's absolutely nothing douchebag about sharing the wealth. The douchebag thing is flaunting wedding party cold beverages that other guests do not have access to. This was meant for us during outdoor photos (while the rest of the guests drove ahead to the reception). The point is, some of the bridal party didn't get any cold drinks because the dates of the other groomsmen took them instead
  9. I was a groomsman in an August wedding. It was my cousin's wedding, and the groomsmen were myself, my other cousin, and a bunch of the groom's college buddies (most of whom were grade-A douchebags). So it was hot as hell, but some of the family had set up some cold drinks for the bridal party so we wouldn't die. I went to grab one and came to find out that the d-bag college buddies had grabbed them all to give to their dates.
  10. Same Yeah, this season has been so fun that the thought of it potentially ending due to the outcome of one game make me antsy. That sums it up
  11. This.. Especially when it's outside and 95F and the bride insists on an hour ceremony In a church without air conditioning A wedding I went to in North Carolina this summer expressly said on the invitation that people could wear whatever they wanted (at a business/church casual-level) and still most of the suckers showed up completely dressed up to the nines and sweating their bits off in an un-air conditioned church. Madness. Worst one I've been to was a buddy of mine from grad school. He got married in Iowa City, and a bunch of people from school drove there from Chicago. We get there and the ceremony is over (they had a tiny thing on campus with just close family) and the reception was in this former church (basically the entire altar/pews were cleared out so it was a big open room). No air conditioning. It was about 30 minutes of dinner, a few speeches, and then it was over. We all look at each other like "we drove all this way for THAT?", and then proceeded straight into the City to hit as many bars as possible
  12. This.. Especially when it's outside and 95F and the bride insists on an hour ceremony In a church without air conditioning
  13. Steelers had two opportunities to ice this game in the 4th and missed both FG's. Now it's tied and heading to OT
  14. I scheduled a vacation to visit my parents in Florida from 10/10-10/12. Bad timing if/when the Cubs advance to the LDS
  15. you're gettin' hosed brah I never pay more than $5/plate
  16. Guess the donation bar worked :good:
  17. We had a spring wedding, and I almost completely missed my own rehearsal dinner because I was stuck in playoff traffic for the Bulls
  18. Red hearts are how many likes you've given out. White hearts are how many you've received. You're always 5 minutes late :D
  19. The red heart in the body of the post says that you have not yet liked that post, but still have the option to do so. The white heart in the body of the post says that you have liked that post, but can click it again to "unlike" it The red heart by your username shows how many posts you have liked The white heart by your username shows how many of your posts others have liked. So we can see who is stingy and who is slutty with their "likes" :D
  20. what's the difference between the red heart and the white heart?
  21. I use Board index. I don't like active topics because I kind of have a pattern about which forums I visit first each time.
  22. What's a typical goal they put out there? https://www.thetfp.com/donate/goals No idea what kind of traffic they get or what their costs are
  23. Sports fans who attend live games suck in general. If you go to a football game and stand up to cheer when the team gets a first down, some fuddy duddy behind you complains that they can't see and can you please stay seated. They need to make playoff tickets $5 and let the first 35000 drunks in the gate.
  24. I've seen some sites that just post a sticky with a monthly donation goal and keep it updated as people donate. Seems to work well in motivating people to chip in
