But in the very small sample size of the 2019 season, I don't think Harper in the lineup would have made up for the laughably bad pitching

    Except it won't, because they clearly don't care about winning and NOT signing Harper means they pocket more money. These losses don't even register with the Ricketts. The fans suffer and Tom makes money. Where's the schadenfreude?

    All of these player extensions are perfect the ownership's plans. 1) Make free agency unbearable for the players 2) Make players think that team-friendly extensions are WAAAYY better than hitting the open market 3) PROFIT
