Or his skin color What? Apologies for the vague response. I was only insinuating that Dusty would likely get hired simply because he would be a "minority hire". No racist intentions whatsoever. Hmmm..... I'll take your word for it, though I think teams would look at his .530 winning percentage over his skin color. Gosh, with first time hires of people of color like Randolph and Guillen, I'd think fans would get over this "minority hire" garbage. If that were really the case, then why hasn't anyone hired Cito Gaston, a two-time World Series winner? Or Baylor? Who, I think, has shown through his teams' records, that he's just not a good manager. Maybe I'm too cynical about it. I know it's a big deal in the NFL, what with their "mandatory interview of a minority" policy and all. I'm guessing Dusty is actually very well liked in the baseball world, and he wouldn't have much of a problem getting a job anywhere. maybe, but I think Lovie was an excellant hire by da Bearz, and honestly he may not have been given the oppertuity w/o that requirement.... Agreed, but it's silly how teams can get into trouble for not making that mandatory interview. Didn't the Lions catch some heat for hiring Mariucci without giving their token minority interview? BTW, I never meant to insinuate that I didn't like Dusty because he was black. I hope that's not what anyone construed from my comment.
