    I'm curious when Hendry got his lobotomy. 3 years ago he was a genius when he fleeced the Pirates for A-Ram, Lofton and Simon. He got Lee for next to nothing. Everyone here thought he was the greatest thing to hit the front office in years. Now he's suddenly less competent than Jim Bowden. Amazing how our perceptions change

    Clearly the Cubs need to: sign Macias trade for Vidro, Cano, Soriano, and maybe 2 or 3 more 2B. Then the lineup can be: CF Bynum SS Perez 3B Macias 1B Walker LF Soriano 2B Cano RF Hairston C Vidro With that much speed and gamership, how could we lose?

    And they didn't copy the White Sox either. The White Sox won on the back of healthy starting pitching and hitting a ton of homers. The entire "small ball/speed and defense/guys who can catch" thing was almost entirely a fabrication of bad sportswriters. No, Soctt Podsednik wasn't the face of the Sox (much like Eckstein isn't the face of the Cardinals). The Sox won because they got 152 starts from their starting 5 pitchers and guys like Konerko, Dye and company went bonkers offensively.

    Are you kidding? They just do what we're doing for money. If I had their job, I would wake up every morning on a sidewalk bench outside of a bar with a bottle in my hand. I would be like Bob Euker in Major League, I would need to have a heavy blood-alcohol level to get through each game. you and Rick Sutcliffe....
