  1. seems ironic if the coaches are "overly cautious" with the guy when he has already been put into some tight situations with little to no room for error. I won't argue that Rothschild is a worthless pitching coach, however.
  2. Hester is now listed as a WR on nfl.com FYI
  3. Not only do I think the Stone are far worse than the Beatles, I would rank them below Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, CSNY, and The Who as far as classic rock bands go.
  4. Pargo better not be on the team next year. He's becoming the equivalent of Neifi Perez for the Bulls
  5. Amazing that this Bulls team was only .500. They play like crazy out there. If they draft Thomas and can sign a FA center, look out next year
  6. i don't feel too bad about yesterday since I had no illusions the Cubs would win that game to start with. Today, however....
  7. he's all things to all people
  8. Regardless of run support, Rusch just isn't getting it done. You can't have a starter with an ERA above 8. That's just not good. of course, of course. I was just pointing out that he hasn't really cost ys many games so far
  9. Okay, while there is no way to defend the total suckitude of Rusch this year, there is one thing to keep in mind: It is unlikely that the Cubs would have won most of Rusch's starts anyways. Here was the Cubs' fabulous run support for Rusch in his first 5 starts: 04/05 - 6 runs (L) 04/11 - 2 runs (L) 04/16 - 7 runs (W) 04/22 - 1 run (L) 04/29 - 2 runs (L) You could argue that an average major league pitcher should have won the April 5th game, but few pitchers on our staff (or any other) are going to win games when their team scores 2 or fewer runs. I think we are blinded to this fact by the enormous amount of runs Rusch gives up, and certainly the early blowout nature of his starts could have a psychological affect on his offense (thus scoring few runs) but there is no way to prove that. Anyways, my point is that I believe Rusch has really only cost the Cubs one more loss than they should have had considering the scores of his 5 starts.
  10. Here I was thinking "oh, look, Leonard Pope actually fell to 57....that first pick wasn't a waste." then this. ](*,)
  11. Giants take Baby Moss
  12. Wow, Manning, definitely worth passing up a WR or TE for
  13. are you actually Jim Thome?
  14. nice little power play by Pittsburgh there. You snooze you lose Bears
  15. Who wants another RB? Everyone calling for Deangelo Williams to be picked. That was ndistops, hes a Panthers fan. i see. Notre Dame fan, not a Bears fan. That's two strikes against him
  16. Who wants another RB? Everyone calling for Deangelo Williams to be picked.
  17. this game is still on? I would have thought they would employ the mercy rule already.
  18. Why do some of you want yet another RB? Already giving up on Benson?
  19. That would be very interesting. I would feel very conflicted having an O$U guy on the Bears Random question. Who's Penn State's biggest conference rival? Who's their biggest overall rival? I feel like recently it's been O$U. They have the Landgrant Trophy with Michigan St., but that was concocted as a completely artificial "rivalry" that doesn't really feel any different than, say, Purdue or Indiana.
  20. That would be very interesting. I would feel very conflicted having an O$U guy on the Bears
  21. I think Hali went a little early but he was basically projected for late 1st/early 2nd round. He's quick as hell for a DE and would actually do well lining up outside in a 3-4 defense. He's got more desire than I've seen in a long time, mostly due to his escape from an oppressive country in Africa (where his mother still lives.....thankfully this new NFL contract will allow him to get her out of there)
  22. He's insanely fast and going to the same school as other busts means nothing. I'm not saying he's guaranteed to be bad, but when you consistently have WR's from a school drafted and being busts, you have to question whether or not the system(I understand they've changed regimes, but principally it's been similar) masks their flaws. Ah, the Penn State Running Back Syndrome (only recently broken by Larry Johnson, but previously proudly brought to us by Blair Thomas, KiJana Carter and Curtis Enis)
  23. As long as Rusch is going to throw batting practice today, I'll take as many Prince Fielder HR's as possible (to help my sorry HR Derby stats)
  24. Doug Davis takes, what, 2 hours and 47 minutes between pitches. God is this game going slow
